Chapter 215: Class Skills
[Class Skills:]
- Mimicry Gambit (Lvl 1): Allows user to randomly select two of an opponent’s class skills to replicate for a day! (Uses: 0/2)
- WildLock (Lvl 1): Allows user to lock a certain number of specific class skills, to be used for unlimited durations. Current Capacity: 0/5
Seth squinted, unable to understand the idea. After all, myriad classes came with various energy types.
Not all essence was the same. Just like Uriel’s Sky Ruler essence and Elaine’s Death Frost essence bore distinct names and effects.
The essence type of a Mage was structured differently than a Knight or even a Berserker, because they were meant to fuel different abilities.
So if Seth was able to access this ability, didn’t that mean his essence could be restructured to meet the varying requirements?
’Wait, come to think of it, doesn’t the Saint-grade Gene skill Force Embodiment provide similar effects?’ Seth pondered.
Shaking his head, Seth buried his train of thought. Glancing at the new Mystery Class path option at the corner of his retina waiting for him, he thought, "It seems my second class is already sorted out. My luck seems to be quite good today."
He glanced at the emerald floating crystal. Seth quickly asked the Oracle his first question.
"Why do classes have levels?" This question might seem weird, but encountering it for the first time, Seth had to ask.
[Class levels reflect proficiency. Paths are structured imprints branded into your being, and the more you use them, the more they integrate deeper into your existence, allowing you to draw more power...]
Complicated but understandable...
"Does that mean that levels increase based on class skill usage?" he asked again.
[Correct. Class levels do increase based on usage...]
Dismissing the Oracle with a wave of his arm, Seth was still somewhat lost in thought. Shaking his head, he realized, "It’s about time I got out of here."
With that, he felt for the gentle tug of the dungeon as it offered him a way out. Taking hold of that feeling, Seth pulled on an energy field of sorts.
Sparks swallowed his frame, whisking him out of the unraveling dungeon. And just like that, Seth had evacuated the completed dungeon.
Something that had remained unconquered for generations, Seth cleared in a single day!!
...
On the surface of the Verdant Moon, there had been an unwritten rule in place for this vast celestial body.
And that was that those beyond Awakened grade would never step down to this planet and at most watch from above.
This was in place to assure the safety of all Awakened Rank trial participants that came from all around the cosmos.
But today, successful participants exited the dungeon gates to see the grand sight of immeasurably powerful beings standing in wait around the glowing dungeon portal.
They went stiff as they saw tags that indicated their identities, sharp hisses or gasps of horror. They identified these individuals to be Aces of the four suits!
Such powerful beings—why were they here? Anxious and cautious, they walked forward, realizing that the great figures didn’t even budge at their arrival. It was clear the Aces weren’t here for them.
But still, the trial participants slowly gathered behind the respective Ace of the suit class trial they had just passed.
And as was clear and obvious, there was no representative of the Wildcard suit—just as there had not been a single soul who had passed that trial in eons.
It was well known that attempting the Wildcard Class Trial was the same as suicide. But some tried anyway, and the result never changed.
And in all honesty, no one expected or anticipated it to change. Gathering behind their respective Aces, the participants watched silently, not aware of what they were waiting for. But the heavy, infectious tension in the air made them nervous nonetheless.
Farad stood before the dungeon gates, his mind rapidly looping the memories of the instructions he had received.
He squinted, the crack on his forehead loosening as his third eye stirred. Today, they were to find all means to retain Seth.
They would have to extract coordinates for his home planet before the Oracle could intervene, track, and subjugate his home world.
Farad didn’t feel this action was wrong. In his eyes, this was for the best.
By culling such a race of prodigies this early, they were sparing the universe chaos in the future.
It was a no-brainer. So why did he feel so anxious? Almost like a heavy premonition was settling in his chest.
He stared at the spiraling dungeon gate, hardly noticing the participants that successfully exited one after the other, some gathering behind him.
Today, these few weren’t the focus of his attention. His mind held the picture of Seth. He stared at the swirling gates, his senses clouding the area.
Silence remained among the four Aces until they sensed the sliver of Seth’s aura trickle out of the gates.
Their wills stirred, as their unfathomable presence leaked into the air. The pure suffocating aura stifled the Awakened Rank trial participants.
A dull flicker sparked, and Seth’s figure was fully revealed. Half-naked, he was spat out of the dungeon gates...
He could already feel the Origin not wasting any time—it was already gearing to send Seth back into the Origin Realm.
But suddenly, he felt a stifling presence settle over him. Seth went stiff. He had never sensed anything like this before!
An inherent suppression squeezed hopelessness out of his senses. Seth felt overshadowed in every essence.
And instinctively, he knew this was not ordinary suppression. It was compelled by a higher form of life.
And this time wasn’t like when he was suppressed by Awakened elders of his family while he was still shackled. This time, it was painfully evident that the gap wasn’t by one evolution.
Seth was looking at four god-like genetic evolvers—beings that were already definitely beyond the third stage of life.
Seth felt a small quake spread through his soul as he cast his gaze on their figures, alarmed and nervous.
This was his first time meeting powerhouses from the grander cosmos, and he didn’t even know what he had done to attract their attention.
His heart drummed heavily against his ribs, his breath heavy. One of the god-like beings drifted closer, and a cold chill coursed all over Seth as he felt a Will reverberate into words.
