Chapter 214: Class Quest Complete!
[Divine weapon: Chronicles of Fallen God Battalion!]
[Grade: -]
[Rank: Awakened (evolvable)]
[Details: Lost and forbidden, the Chronicles hold tales of Knights long past, Divine Cavalries that once shaped the world, and reading out their tales might just stir them awake.]
[Abilities:]
- Records of the Fallen
- Remnant Incarnation
Seth’s eyes shone bright, the relief of finally clearing the trial mixed with the excitement of getting another Divine item.
Though this was not a weapon, by glancing at its details alone Seth could already feel that it would provide more uses than the Divine Bow.
Feeling tempted for a bit, Seth gave in to the urge to examine the item a little.
Above his palms, light bled through space as a book clattering with locks slowly appeared, equipped by Seth.
His Gene skill Absolute Weapon Resonance surged, his mind flooded with information as he rested a palm on the cold defensive covers of the book.
This thing was based on probability. His eyes flickered as he scrutinized the item, already feeling the exhausted echo of the Gene skill Force Embodiment trying to mold his essence.
The requirement was clear: to activate this book one needed a massive influx of both essence and divine energy. Only then would it flip open to a random page.
And only then could Seth summon the ancient Knight or any figure described within that opened page.
He quickly dismissed the book, already understanding how it worked. This was the first time Seth was owning an item that let him summon.
And with the Divine item’s evolvable tag, didn’t it mean his summons wouldn’t be capped at Awakened?
Rubbing his hands, Seth felt quite content adding another item to his artillery.
He got to his feet, glancing around the empty plain. Seth decided to continue his ritual of completely recovering after each battle.
He sat back down, legs crossed, as he dived into deep introspection, tapping into cultivation.
One thing Seth had mistaken before was that cultivation was an exclusive practice, and he was wrong. Cultivation was available to hegemon races; no one among them simply practiced it.
After all, cultivation was such a slow process. Relying on it to reach greater heights was unrealistic, as your life expectancy wouldn’t be able to keep up.
So cultivation, as Seth figured out, was mainly used for urgent recovery. Stranded without essence crystals or foes, Seth could only fall back on this option for recovery.
He let his Will ripple through the surrounding air. Following the Oracle’s guidance, Seth attempted cultivation for the first time.
He felt essence from the surrounding atmosphere, manually absorbing notes of pure natural essence through his pores.
He had to channel them through specific nodes for purification before they settled at his core.
The process was quite easy—easier than Seth imagined—but that was because he had Will.
An average beginner of cultivation would be those not from hegemon races, meaning they would have to start without access to Will.
Seth couldn’t imagine how excruciatingly slow the process would be.
Anyways, with Seth being in a dungeon, it turned out the essence saturating his surroundings was quite dense. Contrary to appearances, the place was really rich with essence.
This made his recovery faster. The cuts across his body crusted into peeling scabs, his organs slowly nourished as a chill welled up from his abdomen.
In about two hours, he felt ready. His eyes opened, his mind finally clear of the fuzzy exhaustion that had plagued him previously.
He was finally prepared. He scrolled through the interface, reading the influx of notifications simmering bright with celebratory golden lights.
[Congratulations! You have slain Awakened Rank Divine Remnant Immortal King Legion!]
[You grow stronger...]
[+113 Intelligence]
[+78 Will]
[+92 Essence]
His eyes flashed with acknowledgement as he scrolled to another screen.
[Class Quest: Seven Foes Seven Paths]
[Quest Status: Completed!]
[Congratulations! You have cleared the last leg of the Dungeon trial, hereby clearing the Class Quest!]
[Congratulations! You have met the specific requirements to claim Special Class: Jack of All Trades.]
[A void has been detected in your soul! Rare dual-class constitution detected. Mystery Class path bestowed!]
The moment Seth finished reading through the stack of notifications, he felt the slow unraveling of the world around him.
Now completed, the dungeon tugged on his existence, showing him a way out. But he did not exit immediately.
He still didn’t understand the implications of selecting a class. He didn’t know how the period of assimilating this path would go.
And he didn’t want to end up vulnerable. So now was the best chance—while he was still alone.
His eyes focused on a single block of notification...
[Congratulations! You have met the specific requirements to claim Special Class: Jack of All Trades.]
[Do you accept? Y/N]
Without hesitation, he clicked Yes. Finally, it was time to claim his class.
From the class quest alone, and the Will integrated into the name Jack of All Trades, Seth could already perceive the abilities of this class.
And he could feel the intensely high affinity he had for it.
While he was still reading, the class integration process commenced straight away. He felt the cold anchor of an ethereal mass settling in his mind.
As though a framework of a path had been installed, the feeling was faint, the process abrupt.
Seth blinked. He had expected grand changes to occur, but it turned out the process was so fast he barely felt anything.
He clenched and unclenched his fists, still not sensing any difference or lingering effects.
Hurriedly, he summoned the status page—the only place for clarification.
[Name: Seth Duskreaver]
[Race: Human (Bronze)]
[Rank: Awakened (Mid Stage)]
[Class: Jack of All Trades (Lvl 1)]
[Class: –]
[Profession: –]
[Titles: Chain Breaker, World Saint, Charmed But Unfazed, Origin Blessed, Legendary Craftsman]
And indeed, it was there. And it seemed the class had levels?
Unable to understand, Seth summoned the Oracle crystal to clear up some confusion. His focus lingered on the skill section, his eyes flashing as he read through his new class skills.
