Chapter 200: Force Embodiment
Seth’s laughter peeled across the sky as his figure spiraled through the air, his Will infiltrating the space around him with suffocating might.
His acquisition of the divine weapon was the lamp that lit the dark road he hadn’t even realized he had embarked upon.
A path he had inadvertently set himself on the moment he awakened his first Gene skill.
What Seth hadn’t known previously was that genes were more connected to one’s being than he ever imagined. To the extent they could reshape one’s essence, even influencing one’s sense of self — the very core of Will could be altered by them.
And this was precisely Seth’s problem. His Gene skill was so unique that even the progenitor of his line never possessed an ability as clear-cut and pure as his.
The ability Absolute Weapon Resonance was beyond even the jurisdiction of the Grand Weapon Maester.
Though Seth’s ancestor was the pioneer of weapons on Earth, it didn’t qualify to grant him authority over all items in existence.
An authority bestowed on a figure like Seth, who had yet to even comprehend the full implication behind this ability.
As for the reason the system gave him such an ability?
Seth didn’t know, but if he were to guess... "Origin soul again huh?" Seth muttered with a smile.
He bore a soul so powerful its benefits were evident in every aspect of his existence, yet he still didn’t know the true meaning — or even what an origin soul truly was.
What he did know was that because he had it, his potential was practically endless. Saying the sky was his limit didn’t do it justice.
As for what he had just accomplished?
He had broken through a limiting threshold he hadn’t even known was there.
He had acquired the ability to reshape his existence at his whim...
[Congratulations on awakening Saint Grade! Gene skill: Force Embodiment!]
[Details: Wielding items isn’t just a part of your nature anymore, your very essence reflects the item in your grasp!]
Saint Grade? Seth hissed in astonishment and joy. And that wasn’t all — the description explained the broken nature of the ability.
To understand this description in full context, one had to understand the reason classes existed in the first place.
Classes were the embodiment of paths, and paths were defined by essence type and Will.
A basic Swordsman class allowed one to shape a sword-related Will, also allowing them to tap into any rare form of sword-related essence existing in the cosmos.
This was the true reason dabbling between numerous paths was not only frowned upon but also frankly impossible.
Not only was there the limiting factor of Will, but there was also the ability to perceive a certain type of essence.
And it was common knowledge that the more adept a being became on a path, the more powerful their affinity toward a certain essence and Will form became.
And the further down you tread a path, the harder it is to keep track of any other path.
But with this new Gene skill Force Embodiment, Seth became an anomaly to whom this rule didn’t apply!
What this basically meant was that by equipping a weapon, if Seth comprehended the item just enough, he would be able to activate a skill effect called Remold.
An ability that would help him tweak his very existence to output the true efficiency of the item!
The earth rumbled, snapping Seth out of his thought process. He stared at the looming Immortal King as a smile cracked wider across his lips. Stretching his arms, he called on his newly acquired Divine item.
Golden light burned into the atmosphere, as though the Sun itself was being summoned. Sharp brilliance bloomed in Seth’s grasp, causing the looming behemoth to halt in its tracks.
The Immortal King Verdania smelt the sinister yet familiar energy wafting from the newly equipped presence. The glowing emerald torch-like eyes beneath its jade helm burned with recollected fury.
The creature, silent since its awakening, spoke its first words soaked with malice: "Archer!!"
Its gigantic fists clenched, Verdant glow burning brighter around its figure as the arcane golden halo behind it flared with divine brilliance.
The entire plain came alive, all lush greenery bleeding out currents of essence into the Divine remnant.
Meanwhile, on Seth’s end, the brilliant glow congealed in his grasp, forming a Divine bow that seemed crafted by a deity. Not that Seth would be surprised if it was — this was a Divine item after all.
A curved bow spanning a length that rivaled Seth’s height, the riser sparking with the faint luster of a simmering star.
The limbs streamlined with ancient oak patterns etched into a golden rose surface, each design pulsing with a faint arcane sheen of divinity.
Its bowstring hummed with the clear warmth of dawn. Seth smiled in satisfaction as he felt his entire being melding into tune with the weapon.
[Weapon: Solaris Arc (Divine!)]
[Grade: –]
[Rank: Awakened (evolvable)]
[Abilities: Star Strike, Aurora’s Fury]
Seth’s hair rippled against the wind as a faint golden sheen coated his figure. His eyes dyed gold, golden runes pulsing across his Gene battle suit and etched deep into his skin.
His Will spilled with grander weight as absurd pressure folded space itself.
The essence dwelling in his pathways slowly restructured into something else... something beyond.
Divine energy! The blinding golden current gave him the feeling of being on top of the world, each sliver carrying force that threatened to level entire cities.
Though only fifty units of normal essence accounted for a single unit of this new brewing force, it formed nonetheless.
As his Saint-grade Gene skill Force Embodiment bloomed in full power, this was why the gene locks were so powerful.
It turned out he could even simulate divine energy. Seth didn’t know the full weight of this accomplishment, but he had enough grounds to claim it was an impressive feat.
He stared at his foe, his eyes glowing with divine current... it was time to deal with this creature.
Now that Seth had awakened a Saint-grade ability, this trial was as good as over. He would streamline through the entire thing.
Wearing a confident smile, his eyes glowed as he drew on the bowstring. The foreign new current of higher energy coursed through his veins.
Lightning sparked at his fingertips, igniting the warm string. The weapon buzzed in relish as ancient glyphs across the item slowly built up with light.
Light coursed through the bow, congealing into a divine glowing arrow. Seth’s pupils focused, his entire being becoming one with the weapon.
His Will prickled the air like countless tiny arrows...
The Immortal King felt this aura, its fury palpable as it drew on more Verdant energy, charging forward in blind rage. "Archer, dieeeee!!!"
Seth’s eyes flickered, his coiled muscles torquing to the absolute limit. He focused his aim... and he let loose.
