Chapter 199: Immortal King Verdania
Seth’s awareness blanked, his consciousness shutting off for a second, as reality warped around him.
And by the time he came too...
Lids snapping open he leapt to his feet, glancing around... he sighed in silent relief, thankfully this time he wasn’t free-falling through the air...
Only then did he take his time to assess his surroundings, his hair fluttering as a cool wind washed across his frame.
A faint fragrance of pollen, vegetation and rich soil rode into his nostrils, his eyes flashing as it reflected the stunning sight of the endless green of towering trees all around him.
The sight was breathtaking and nothing like earth, the massive trunks shining a healthy bright green, the branches bearing leaves of bright blue, some holding red the colours were as many as they were abundant.
But still, his eyes squinted, as the heavy sense of danger filled his being, this grand beauty held within it a dangerous air.
The large canopy of trees blotting out the sky in clusters rustled as a screen flashed into view.
The earth began to rumble, and quake...
[Immortal King: Verdania Awakens!!]
His Gene suit flared into life, as he burst upwards through the air, breaking out of the canopy of clustered giant trees with a rough rustle, he caught sight of the familiar foggy artificial sky...
His eyes scanned the horizon of endless lush and myriad colors... his eyes suddenly locking onto a massive swelling in the distance.
A pressure broke into the air, one that inspired endless dread and reverence, the weight of the pressure carrying a quality that went beyond the Immortal King Blood-sea.
But this time despite the towering presence scaling beyond that of his previous foe, Seth was dangerously calm.
He could feel every hair on his body stand on end, his primal instincts screaming at him to retreat, his heart beat betraying his composure hammering in response to the inspired dread.
The very presence cemented his status as prey before the Immortal King even fully awakened.
’So this is divine energy...’ Seth’s gaze narrowed as he wondered.
This thing... it had yet to fully surface and it already threatened to pose a threat far beyond what Blood-sea posed even after his transformation.
The feeling of helplessness if provoked was too dreadful, even Seth with how tough and dense his will was felt himself losing all desire to fight back.
His previously high morale was sinking so fast that his adrenaline matrix, remained cold and dull, as his racial trait refused to budge.
There was no rush of power, no thrill and even his essence remained docile like a mouse before a feline, every attempt at wielding it proved to be more difficult by the second.
Boooooom!
The void itself shook alongside the earth, the giant trees rustling from the great tremor, as a blinding brilliant burst out of the Welling mountain.
A gigantic arm coated with royal emerald bursting out of the plain!
Rumble!!! The tremor continued as the monstrous form of the Immortal King was slowly revealed, as it clawed its way out of the earth.
Seth’s heart hammered even harder as the shadow of the colossal titan cast over him, he beheld the grand majestic sight of the Immortal King that echoed with an ancient grace of time past, a form so graceful and divine it threatened to blind his sight.
A strange Halo was brimming around the massive titan that burned his irises, not allowing him to take a clear glance at the massive figure.
The pressure wafted by the massive colossus doubled, as a foreign energy invaded the air his breathing stifled as the force coiled around his being and crept into seams of his armour.
For the first time in his life felt total helplessness, his will to battle flickering like a dying candle in a stormy wind, as the force slowly dug its way into his pores.
The paralysis was instinctive, he wanted to move, but he couldn’t, his being surrendering itself to this Almighty predator.
But despite all this happening to Seth, one would be surprised to find out that the look in his contrasted, his situation by far...
In fact, his eyes staring forward had long shifted their gaze from his new towering foe to a detailed lineup of the new divine item he received- his only key to winning this.
"An awakened rank Divine item... Nice..." Seth didn’t fully understand the implication of divine, but one thing his bloodline communicated was that this thing was beyond the mere classification of grades.
A Divine item was on a level of its own regardless of the rank it was incomparable to other graded items, in fact, it wasn’t supposed to be able to be wielded by any creature that couldn’t command divine energy.
His grand weapon maester bloodline resonated with the item, but the limitation was clear he wouldn’t be able to use it.
Well, at least he wasn’t supposed to be able to... But then why was it that the slot box holding the golden arcane bow in his inventory flashed green?
Meanwhile on the Immortal King’s side....
The massive figure, coated in uncontested brilliance, a powerful energy wafting from its being, its glowing eyes turned to its ant of a foe.
It spared no words... emotions absent from its expression as its massive palms moved, in a slow but oppressive motion.
It was evident the immortal King seemed leisurely and unbothered, and quite frankly why shouldn’t it be?
It didn’t sense a hint of threat, with its control over divine energy not being restricted anymore there was little this ant could do to harm it...
The palm bloated the sky above Seth descending with an inevitable devastating presence, his figure frozen in place in the air.
Paralyzed still by divine energy, Seth was bound not to be able to move... or at least it shouldn’t have been possible for him to move.
It started with a slight flicker, as Seth’s finger twitched ever so slightly... followed by his lips cracking a smile slowly stretching...
Void around him darkened, as thick crimson chains binding his frame like a damned prisoner slowly clattered into existence.
Seth’s lips stretched wider his mind expanding as his senses resonated more with the divine item... ’I see...’
His eyes burned as a divine Amethyst glare spilled from their depths, the chains constricting tighter and digging deeper into his being.
Stretched taut the godly binds tried to snap him out of his comprehension as it once did before, only...
This time it was inevitable and it couldn’t stop the inevitable.
Seth’s head suddenly snapped upwards, cracks gleamed streaking across the godly binds, as they groaned and craned with relentless reluctance.
But Seth didn’t care as his mind pushed on a threshold of discovery he never thought possible the glow in his eyes burning brighter.
It turned out picking this item was the best decision he could have ever made, if he hadn’t encountered this opportunity he might have been stuck for god knows how long, unable to unearth the full potential of his grand maester bloodline.
His will roared with a furious tempest of royal purple towering across the skies.
Crackle! The chain, unable to bear it any longer, riddled with cracks and overpowered by a will it once curbed and suppressed, gave in shattering in a single bound!
Seth felt a rush of heat course through his veins, an untapped current pouring into his being. Pressure built in his chest his head swinging back his lips parting to release a loud laughter that echoed through the Plane.
One that shook the very foundation of reality itself, his aura bursting with a disastrous force that kicked his opponent’s palm backwards causing the Titan to stumble for a bit.
The Immortal King Verdania’s massive head tilted, its gaze carrying wariness once absent, its divine energy stirred as it took a step forward...
