Chapter 1443: Surrounded
King Garrie was immediately pushed backward by the force of the clash. His boots carved deep trenches across the shattered ground before he finally drove his sword into the earth to stop himself. Even then, it still took several seconds before his body finally came to a halt.
That alone made the king even more vigilant.
The Void Architect had become stronger again. He was certain of it.
That was not a good sign.
"I thought I had cornered him... but that thing can still become even stronger."
Once again, despair crept into the king’s heart. It had disappeared only moments ago after witnessing the Void Architect weaken. Now, it seemed that everything that had happened earlier had meant nothing at all.
"Do not fall into despair, human king."
Suddenly, King Garrie heard the voice of a woman echo inside his mind. The voice sounded soft and weak. Yet somehow, behind that gentle tone, he could feel unimaginable power.
"Who are you?" King Garrie asked with an apprehensive expression.
His eyes never left the Void Architect, who, strangely enough, did not immediately follow up his attack.
"I am the being you call the Sky Anchor," the voice replied.
The king’s eyes widened.
The being he had regarded as the god of this world was speaking directly to him.
Nothing like this had ever happened before.
Their god had always granted them strength in silence.
Their prayers had never been answered with words.
People had simply believed their prayers had been accepted.
But now, the god, or rather, the goddess, was speaking directly to him.
This had to be because her scattered pieces had finally been reunited. The five Archmages had truly accomplished it.
"All right. I don’t mean to be rude, Goddess, but what should I do now?" King Garrie asked through his thoughts.
"My reunification is still not complete. I still need more time. Until then, I need you to delay him and hold him back," the Sky Anchor answered.
King Garrie let out a slow breath. "I’ll do my best."
Despite the pain coursing through his battered body, he raised his sword once more.
"Thank you," the Sky Anchor said gently. "I still cannot help you or grant you strength. But know this. I will awaken soon... and I will remove that monster. So do not give up hope."
After saying those words, King Garrie felt the goddess’s presence fade away.
It was as though she had finished her visit inside his mind and quietly departed. But that alone was enough. Knowing that his battle carried such great meaning gave him strength.
His body still ached. His Magic reserves had nearly run dry. But his fighting spirit blazed once again.
King Garrie charged toward the Void Architect. His eyes burned with renewed determination.
Meanwhile, the Void Architect could feel his own weakness growing greater with every passing second. He gritted his teeth in fury. Then he also charged toward King Garrie.
The two met once more in the middle of the battlefield.
Their blades collided with explosive force. This time, King Garrie was not pushed backward. Not because the Void Architect’s attack lacked strength but because the king resisted that overwhelming force through nothing but his renewed fighting spirit.
Their battle continued.
Both King Garrie and the Void Architect knew that this could very well become their final clash.

Nyssara’s form changed once again. Her body became denser than before. The black star suspended within her serpentine body grew larger and brighter, radiating a disturbing black light that seemed to swallow the surrounding space.
Erend, Eccar, Aesa, and Sylven all felt that energy. It made every one of them cringe inwardly because of how unnatural those lights and that power felt.
Fire, ice, earth, and plant Magic attacked from every direction. Nyssara responded by creating even more clones.
Although they were much smaller than before, Erend and the other Dragonborn destroyed them almost immediately.
However, this was the truly dangerous stage of the battle. Even for Dragonborn, Magic energy was not limitless. And against a genuine cosmic being, it was depleting at an alarming rate.
Eccar, Aesa, and Sylven could all feel it. Their Magic reserves were falling rapidly. But Nyssara still showed no signs that she was close to defeat.
Erend’s condition remained slightly better. His Magic reserves were far greater than theirs. But that did not mean he could continue forever.
"We’re almost out of Magic," Aesa sent through their telepathic connection.
Erend answered with a grim expression. "Hold on a little longer."
"But for how long?"
"I’ll make it happen."
Those words became a deadline that Erend imposed upon himself.
He had to finish this battle as quickly as possible. Otherwise, his friends would be the ones placed in danger.
After that, Erend pushed deeper into Nyssara’s defenses. He seemed to have gone berserk. Blazing fire erupted from every part of his Dragon body with far greater intensity than before.
The darkness within his fire returned once again. Blackness seeped through the blazing flames like ink spreading through molten lava.
Erend did not notice it. His entire focus was fixed on one thing and that was to destroy Nyssara as quickly as possible.
However, Nyssara saw through everything. After drawing more power from her real body, her mind had regained its clarity. She could now read the battlefield far more clearly than before.
Her enormous eye shifted away from Erend for only a brief moment. That was enough.
She immediately noticed that the other three Dragonborn were no longer attacking as fiercely as they had earlier. Their attacks had become weaker and their movements had slowed.
Something had happened to them. Their Magic was running out.
Instead of continuing to focus entirely on Erend, she shifted her attention toward the other three Dragonborn.
Without hesitation, Nyssara created ten more clones.
The smaller copies immediately burst away from her body and shot toward Eccar, Aesa, and Sylven.
Their assault came so suddenly that none of the three Dragonborn saw it coming.
Eccar cursed. He immediately created several more massive boulders and launched them toward the incoming clones. The enormous rocks streaked through the sky before exploding upon impact.
BOOM!
BOOM!
Aesa and Sylven reacted at the same time. Aesa released waves of freezing breath while Sylven summoned enormous thorn-covered vines to intercept the remaining clones.
Their attacks struck true. One more clone shattered beneath the combined assault.
But it was no longer enough. Their Magic had weakened considerably. Their defenses lacked the overwhelming power they had displayed earlier.
The surviving clones broke through.
"Aesa!" Sylven shouted.
"No—"
"Erend!" Aesa called through their telepathic connection.
Only then did Erend turn his head. His crimson eyes widened when he saw his three friends completely surrounded by Nyssara’s clones.
