Chapter 1437: Dire Situations For Both

The Void Architect was perplexed. He had not expected the king to have enough tenacity to attack him immediately after being struck by that poisonous attack.

That poisonous Magic should have inflicted pain the moment it hit him. That kind of pain should have been enough to stop a human’s movements.

But what happened now was beyond the Void Architect’s expectations. Instead of collapsing to the ground in pain, the king lunged forward and attacked him with his sword. Now the sword had pierced his shoulder.

After that, the Void Architect immediately jumped backward. King Garrie saw that as an opportunity and also leaped backward.

They disengaged for the moment while continuing to glare at each other with clear hostility.

"I’m impressed," the Void Architect said. "Even after being struck by my poisonous Magic, you were still able to attack without falling."

Meanwhile, King Garrie remained silent. Although he was still standing upright, his chin was indeed throbbing with pain. But it was not just that. The pain spread across his entire face and down his neck, making him worry about what would happen to his body next.

However, he could not show it. He could only use his Magic power to suppress the pain and weakness.

"This is nothing," King Garrie replied, his tone stiff.

"Heh." The Void Architect chuckled. "You’re putting on such a strong face. Well, as a king, I know you have to keep pretending like that so you don’t frighten your people. I’ve seen many monarchs like you. But I’ve also realized one thing. All of that is nothing but pretense."

King Garrie gritted his teeth. Unfortunately, what the Void Architect said was true. But he would not say anything to admit it.

"What about you?" King Garrie asked. "You seem to have become so weak that you had to come down here and challenge me to a fight."

This time, the Void Architect did not answer.

In fact, they both knew the truth. Both of them were recuperating. The wounds they had suffered had weakened them greatly. At this point, both King Garrie and the Void Architect were on their last breath after using all their strength in the previous battle.

The Void Architect was only doing this because he had no other choice. His real body was still hidden within his Void Dimension, but his soul and most of his remaining power were already inside this body.

There was no other way. If he wanted to win this battle, he had to use all of his remaining power.

He could no longer detect Nyssara’s whereabouts. That being had surely gone somewhere else to fight the Dragonborn by herself. Instead of focusing on doing her job, she had decided to fight them. What a stupid bitch!

In the end, all Nyssara had managed to do was lure the Dragonborn away from here. At least he could use that opportunity to carry out his own attack.

The problem was that the Void Architect was no longer as strong as he once had been. His confidence in winning this battle was nowhere near as high as when his power had not yet been shattered. He was using all of his remaining power for this, so he would fight with everything he had.

King Garrie stared at the Void Architect. Looking away from him would have been stupid. The pain in his chin and throughout his body gradually began to subside. But he knew the poison had not disappeared, only been suppressed. He had to endure it, and he could not allow himself to be struck by that creature again.

The Void Architect finally moved again. He dashed toward him.

This time, something different happened.

The greenish Magic around his hands disappeared. In its place appeared two slender, thin swords with crimson blades like frozen blood.

King Garrie gritted his teeth. He also charged toward the Void Architect, raising his sword.

They met once again in the middle.

The blades from both sides collided, creating a small wave of wind that blew outward.

Immediately, King Garrie raised his sword again and continued with another attack, slashing upward in a fast, wide arc.

The Void Architect blocked it with one of his swords, then attacked with the other.

The fight did not look favorable for King Garrie. The Void Architect wielded two swords, and his movements were quick and precise. He no longer used Magic, but his movements alone were enough to push the king into a disadvantage.

"To think this being is also skilled in swordsmanship..." King Garrie thought with dread while continuing to parry and counter the attacks directed at him.

The longer he fought this being, the more his confidence faded.

"GRRROOOOOAAAHHH!!!"

Erend’s roar shook the air and the sky. His fire blazed even brighter, but it was also filled with that mysterious blackness.

"EREND!"

Eccar, who was flying toward him, sent his words directly into Erend’s mind. But Erend still did not answer him.

Meanwhile, Nyssara also surged toward them, her huge eye releasing ominous dark mist. She let out her own roar as if answering Erend’s and refusing to be outdone.

Eccar grunted. But he could not stop now. He continued moving and flying.

At that moment, Aesa and Sylven arrived before Nyssara. They stopped in front of her.

That finally caused Nyssara to stop as well.

She let out another roar, full of annoyance. Then she created smaller versions of herself, clones, and sent them to swarm Aesa and Sylven.

Aesa and Sylven acted immediately.

Using their powers of ice and plants, they fought the army of smaller Nyssaras while Nyssara herself continued charging toward Erend.

However, what Nyssara had not expected was that her clones were annihilated in a matter of seconds by Aesa and Sylven.

She did not know whether it was because her power had weakened so much compared to before, or because those Dragonborn had become stronger than before and still had not gone all out.

Sylven and Aesa flew straight toward Nyssara’s main body. Streaks of cold silver and green split through the air at incredible speed.

Powerful attacks of ice and plants struck her next.
