Chapter 420: Chapter 420: Dry Wood, Raging Fire
Faye Dean suddenly gave a dry cough, glanced furtively at the door, and said in a low voice, "Claire, there’s something I want to tell you, too."
"Hm?" Claire Sinclair’s ears perked up.
Faye Dean mumbled for a long time before finally speaking, "It’s about that guy, Morgan. I... forced myself on him."
"Huh???" Claire Sinclair felt like her brain was short-circuiting.
"Well, it wasn’t exactly ’forcing.’ It’s just... one night, I got too drunk, you know? There was no one home to look after me, and then somehow, the next morning, I was lying in the same bed with him. My clothes were a little disheveled, but he wasn’t wearing a single thing..."
Claire Sinclair analyzed the situation. "Maybe he took advantage of you while you were drunk and did something indecent?"
"But my body doesn’t feel uncomfortable at all, not even... down there. And... he had a ton of bite marks on him."
"Sounds like sparks were flying!" Claire Sinclair exclaimed.
"Sigh..." Faye Dean let out a long sigh. "You know I black out when I drink, just like you. I honestly can’t remember what happened that night. When I ask him, he just gives me a nasty look and calls me shameless, or he tells me it’s better if I never know what happened. What do you think I did to him?"
Claire Sinclair thought for a long while before finally offering a suggestion, "How about this? I’ll have Mr. Quincy ask him later and see if he did anything to wrong you."
Faye Dean’s face fell. "But that’s so embarrassing."
Claire Sinclair laughed. "Not at all. Mr. Quincy is very open-minded. He’s not as cold and aloof as you might think."
Faye Dean raised an eyebrow. "Well, aren’t you something, Claire. You keep calling him ’Mr. Quincy.’ Why not ’Hubby’?"
"Just a habit," Claire Sinclair said with a calm smile.
Suddenly, she remembered that guy was still waiting for her in the study. She couldn’t keep him waiting too long, worried it might interfere with his work.
Thinking of this, Claire Sinclair quickly said, "Faye, I have to go. Mr. Quincy has something to tell me, so I’m going to go see him. He’s very busy."
"Go, go. Let me know in advance when you’re coming over, so I can pick you up from the airport."
"Okay, bye-bye."
Claire Sinclair ended the video call and trotted into the study next door.
Adrian Quincy was sitting at his desk, sketching something with a pen.
When he saw her come in, he put down his pen, looked up, and said, "Claire, come and sit."
Claire Sinclair walked over to him, pulled up a chair, and sat down. "From a hacker’s perspective, is there a way to get Frank Morgan out of your friend’s house safely without being discovered by the police? I mean, if we hack all the surveillance cameras in the area, it will definitely be discovered. The only way is to simultaneously create several bigger diversions to attract the Meridian police’s attention, and then have that subordinate of yours escape during the chaos."
Adrian Quincy said in a grave voice, "I’ve considered that method. I’m just afraid of implicating the nearby residents, especially your friend."
Claire Sinclair couldn’t help but ask, "Is this Mr. Morgan a very important subordinate of yours?"
"He’s the sole survivor of the mission your sister was on before she died. He’s been searching for answers abroad to investigate the mastermind who killed your sister."
"In that case, we have to get him back!" Claire Sinclair said, clenching her fist. After a pause, she couldn’t help but ask, "The person who killed my sister... they still haven’t been caught?"
Adrian Quincy shook his head gently. "This whole affair is very complicated. I can’t explain it to you clearly. However, I can tell you this much: during that mission, your sister saved the residents of an entire village, sparing them from the ravages of war."
