Chapter 419: Chapter 419: Leniency to Those Who Confess, Severity to Those Who Resist
Just then, Faye Dean’s voice cut in. "I think you’re not trying to figure out how to get away, but how to take advantage of me! A good-for-nothing freeloader like you who doesn’t even help with chores—I knew you were no good from the start!"
Hearing the girl’s furious voice, Adrian Quincy frowned and asked, "Did you bully her?"
Frank Morgan immediately denied it. "Sir, I did not!"
Faye Dean insisted, "Yes, you did!"
Frank Morgan: "Young Master Quincy, I really didn’t."
Faye Dean: "You don’t even have the guts to admit what you did! Coward!"
Frank Morgan: "Young Master Quincy, I really didn’t."
Faye Dean: "Yes, you did! You did!"
Seeing the two of them bickering nonstop, Claire Sinclair couldn’t help but timidly interject, "Um... sorry to interrupt, but what’s going on? Do you two know each other?"
Adrian Quincy took the initiative to explain, "Claire, he’s one of my subordinates."
Faye Dean also noticed something was amiss and asked urgently, "Claire, why is there a man in your house? And if I’m not mistaken, isn’t that Aridia’s future presidential candidate?"
As she asked this question, Frank Morgan also pricked up his ears, wanting to know the answer.
Claire Sinclair blushed and said in a small voice, "That’s actually what I wanted to tell you... Mr. Quincy and I are married."
"Holy shit!" Faye Dean swore in her excitement.
Frank Morgan, on the other hand, laughed out loud. "Congratulations on leaving the single life behind, Young Master Quincy!"
Adrian Quincy said in a grave voice, "This matter can’t be made public for now. Claire and I will be making a trip to Meridia in a little while. We’ll be in touch then."
Frank Morgan nodded. "Understood!"
Adrian Quincy handed the phone back. "Claire, find me in the study after you’re done talking with your friend."
"Uh..." Claire Sinclair froze for a moment. She watched him walk out, feeling very puzzled. ’He must have something to tell me, but right now, I’d rather talk to my best friend.’
Faye Dean couldn’t contain her gossipy heart any longer. She shoved the strange man out of her room, slammed the door, and immediately scrambled back onto her bed, saying excitedly, "Claire, ’fess up! You know the drill: leniency for those who confess, punishment for those who resist!"
A happy smile graced Claire Sinclair’s lips. "Actually, Mr. Quincy and I have been married for over half a year. To be precise, it’s been more than nine months."
"Holy crap, you kept that under wraps!" Faye Dean was stunned.
Claire Sinclair chuckled. "It’s mainly because Mr. Quincy’s status is so sensitive. I didn’t want too many people to know."
"But he’s going to be president someday. You can’t hide it forever."
"I know. That’s why I’ve been working hard to learn how to be a future First Lady."
"Haha..." Faye Dean burst out laughing at her words. "Claire, I can’t even imagine you in a position second to one and above all others. I just can’t picture it!"
Claire Sinclair raised an eyebrow. "Hey, I’m pretty amazing right now too, you know!"
"Yes, yes, of course I know you’re amazing. You’re Aridia’s most popular female journalist right now. It was even in the news over here. When I saw it, I bragged to my mom about it for ages, hehehe..."
"You’re unbelievable. What’s there to brag about with something like that?"
Faye Dean retorted, "Of course I had to brag! After I bragged to my mom, she went and bragged to my dad. Then the two of them ran off and bragged to all the neighbors for ages. Haha, it’s hilarious! Now the entire Chinatown knows our family is close with you."
Claire Sinclair was suddenly speechless.
’Auntie and Uncle are still so adorable.’
