Chapter 418: Chapter 418: Wild Man
A sense of anticipation bloomed in Claire Sinclair’s heart. "Okay, it’s a date, then. You better make time soon, or else by the time you’re free, I might not feel like going anywhere."
Adrian Quincy nodded lightly. "I’ll call you once the plan is ready."
"That’s more like it! I’m going upstairs now!" Claire Sinclair said, then eagerly ran upstairs, pulling out her phone to start a video call with Faye Dean.
After a short wait, the video call connected.
It was exactly midnight where Faye Dean was. She appeared on screen in cute pajamas, smiling as she said, "Claire, miss me?"
"I do! And I’m planning to come visit you."
"For real?" Faye Dean shot up into a sitting position, thrilled.
Claire Sinclair nodded. "Of course, it’s real. And when I get there, I have some good news to share with you."
"What good news?" Faye Dean asked immediately.
Claire Sinclair gave a mysterious smile. "I can’t tell you right now."
The words had barely left her mouth when the sound of knocking came from the video call, followed by an unfamiliar man’s deep voice. "Faye Dean, come out."
’Huh??’
’There’s a man at Faye’s place... Don’t tell me it’s that same guy who broke into her apartment last time?’
’Is that guy still mooching off her and refusing to leave???’
Claire Sinclair asked urgently, "Faye, who’s calling you?"
Faye Dean said irritably, "Who else could it be? It’s that guy I practically knocked brain-dead. Now he’s eating my food, drinking my water, and living in my apartment. I can’t get rid of him. It’s making me furious."
As she spoke, Faye Dean picked up her phone, hopped off the bed, and walked to the door.
"What do you want!" Faye Dean shot him a dark look.
A man, shirtless with just a towel wrapped around his waist, stood outside the door with wet hair. He frowned and asked, "Where did you hang my clothes to dry?"
Faye Dean gave a cold smirk. "Who the hell has time to hang your clothes? Check the washing machine yourself."
Frank Morgan: "..."
Faye Dean raised her phone, aiming the camera right at the man’s face. "Claire, look! This is the exhibitionist! He runs around my apartment naked every night—"
Before she could finish, Frank Morgan snatched the phone away.
Faye Dean immediately reached for it. "What are you doing? Give me back my phone!"
"Who are you on a video call with?" Frank Morgan asked, holding the phone high up with no intention of returning it.
Faye Dean snapped, "None of your business! Now give me back my phone!"
Unfortunately, she was too short. Standing before this six-foot-two man, she couldn’t reach the phone even on her tiptoes.
Frank Morgan quickly turned around and lowered the phone, wanting to see if the person on the call was the woman he suspected it was.
「In that same instant, at Evergreen Garden.」
Claire Sinclair had been about to ask what was happening with her best friend when Adrian Quincy happened to walk in from outside. He said, "Claire, you didn’t eat much for lunch. I saved the leftovers, so you can heat them up yourself if you get hungry."
As soon as he finished speaking, an excited voice came from Claire Sinclair’s phone. "Young Master Quincy?"
Adrian Quincy frowned slightly, his gaze falling on her phone.
Claire Sinclair looked curiously at the man who had appeared on her screen, noticing that he was also looking at her in surprise. Then Adrian Quincy reached over and snatched the phone away.
The moment Adrian Quincy appeared on camera, Frank Morgan said excitedly, "Young Master Quincy, it really is you!"
Adrian Quincy’s voice was grim. "What’s your situation?"
Frank Morgan reported honestly, "I’m wanted by the police in Meridia. The moment I step outside this place, I’ll be spotted. I’m still trying to figure out how to get away."
