Chapter 37: Free Castle, That Is

"Holy shit. Are you serious??"

This time, it was Raviel who chuckled at Dean’s question.

It was quite a sweet chuckle.

"Of course. I’m not asking you for any money. If you give me a week, I’ll have everything sorted out for you. I’ll sort out the paperwork and purchase the castle on your behalf, transferring ownership to you," Raviel replied.

Dean smiled and then muttered, "Alright... If you can, just do it. But still... I feel like I need to do something."

After Dean’s words, Raviel thought for a few seconds and then said, "We could go out for dinner. If that suits you."

Dean took a deep breath at that moment and immediately replied, "I’d rather cook."

The smile on Raviel’s face grew even wider, and she said, "I’d much prefer that."

Raviel held out the box in her hand to Dean and then said, "Well then, goodbye for now. The next time we meet will be when I show you your new home. I don’t know when you’ll cook for me, but I’d like to say that I’ll be looking forward to it."

Dean held out his hand and shook the young woman’s hand.

Raviel left the house just as quickly as she had arrived, whilst Dean opened the box she had given him.

Inside was a black credit card.

Dean took the card, tossed it into the air and caught it.

"Well... I’m fucking rich," he said.

Percival appeared at that moment and clapped his hands with a smile.

"Congratulations, my lord!!!" Percival shouted.

When Dean saw his reaction, he could no longer contain himself:

"PUHAHAHAHAHA!!! We’re rich, Percival!" the young man shouted.

The pair laughed for a while and even danced with joy.

Dean then ordered a few burgers, which this time they ate together with Percival.

Time would pass in this way.

Almost a week later, a car arrived to pick Dean up.

The people sent by Raviel told him they were there to take him to Scotland and that the flight to Edinburgh would be taking off shortly.

Dean smiled and got straight into the car without packing anything.

Before long, he arrived at the airport, boarded the plane and soon made it to Edinburgh.

From there, Dean was taken straight to the Isle of Mull, where he was met in person by Raviel.

However, Raviel was not alone.

This time, there were two other people with her whom he had never seen before.

They resembled Raviel but were older.

They must have been her parents.

To be honest, Dean had thought something was amiss.

After all, he hadn’t expected Raviel to reveal his identity just like that.

Still, he would find out the reason for this shortly.

When the young man hurried over to the trio, all three had politely bowed their heads.

Dean couldn’t make head nor tail of what was going on.

His face fell, as he’d never imagined he’d see Raviel behaving like this.

The young woman had quickly dismissed her bodyguards from the area and then spoken:

"You may remove the mask from your face, young master. We have received a proclamation from the Supreme Goddess Nemesis."

When Dean heard these words, he could not help but react.

His eyes widened instantly.

He hadn’t expected to hear Nemesis’s name here.

Raviel smiled and quickly introduced the couple beside her:

"My father, Alfred Evergold, and my mother, Olivia Evergold."

Dean took a deep breath and then, holding onto the mask on his face, removed it.

For the first time, Raviel was able to see his face in real life, rather than in a photograph.

"Pleased to meet you. Would you like to tell me... what happened?" Dean asked suddenly.

The seriousness on his face caused Raviel’s smile to fade.

It seemed the name ’Nemesis’ had instantly put Dean on his guard.

Raviel summoned her ghosts directly and had them bring four chairs and a table right into the centre of the room.

She then said, "Please take a seat,".

Dean sat down, and with that, the explanation began:

"As I told you over a week ago, the Evergold family is a family connected to gods and goddesses."

"Mhm."

"Do you remember how the portraits around us glowed when you gave me that banknote the other day?"

"I do."

"It seems these portraits were stimulated by the energies of Life and Death on the banknote you gave me and sent information to the sacred realm, Aether."

"What do you mean?"

"She was able to clearly see every god and goddess depicted in the portraits in that room. As luck would have it, at that very moment, the god Ares was trying to explain something to the Supreme Goddess Nemesis in her very presence."

"And?"

"That is why the Supreme Goddess Nemesis had the chance to see those who were just like the god Ares."

"At that, the Supreme Goddess sprang up from her throne in a sudden fit of reaction and shouted directly, ’Dean!’"

When Dean heard all this, he took a deep breath and, scratching his head, muttered, "I wasn’t expecting Lady Nemesis to remember me."

After that, he asked, "What happened next?"

Raviel swallowed at these words and continued:

"So, in light of these events, the god Ares asked what had happened, and the Supreme Goddess Nemesis explained everything to them."

"And of course, as a result, through the god Ares’s connection, the Supreme Goddess Nemesis told us to treat you well, explaining that you were her close friend."

When Raviel finally fell silent, Dean’s serious and irritated expression remained frozen for a few seconds, until the young man could no longer contain himself:

"Hahahahahaha!!"

At his sudden burst of laughter, Raviel, Olivia and Alfred were at a loss for words.

"I hope my lady hasn’t caused you any trouble," Dean asked.

The trio continued to stare at him in bewilderment, and Dean finally added, "You see, she LOVES making people tremble on their feet. I’m sure she told you lot other things too. Just calm down, keep my identity a secret, and we’ll be fine."

It was a complete relief for the trio.
