Chapter 30: Decanus

"Master, let me come out."

The moment Dean heard this request, he smiled and said, "Kill as many as you can."

Percival had rushed out in an instant.

Dean reached into his inventory, pulled out the sword he’d bought at auction, and handed it to Percival.

Percival’s expression... was slightly different.

Dean had immediately noticed that his face, his gaze and his energy were different, and that was why he had smiled.

His mana seemed to have gone completely wild.

Dean, without a moment’s hesitation, summoned the Spear of Dawn directly from the depths of his soul.

The Holy Power radiating from the spear, which glowed with a brilliant white light, was utterly destructive to every ghost in this realm.

After all, Holy Power was one of the few forces capable of standing up to Yin and Yang themselves.

Percival had lunged forward instantly.

He hadn’t considered what sort of powers the ghosts before him possessed, nor had he tried to understand them.

The only thing he was trying to do was wipe every single ghost attempting to harm his master, Dean, from the face of this realm.

So that they would never be spoken of again.

Rather than charging forward alongside Percival, the young man had rushed towards the ghost closest to him, the one who had initially helped him but was now clearly an enemy.

Holy Power enveloped the spear in his hand, whilst his mana encircled his body.

It was as if it had been done automatically, instinctively.

The young man’s sudden lunge seemed to have startled the ghost.

It was almost impossible to gauge his power.

In the ghost’s eyes, Dean was so powerful that it could not even begin to gauge his strength.

The device everyone used to cut off and immobilise others’ power must not have worked on Dean.

Ghost... was, quite simply, an idiot.

Dean had tried to restrain him directly with Moon’s Rope, and had succeeded.

Ghost hadn’t been immobilised and had tried to move, yet Moon’s Rope was a very powerful artefact.

In the wrong move, in an unavoidable situation, it was an item capable of restraining even demons and angels.

For this reason, no matter how hard Ghost struggled, it was to no avail.

"Splash!"

Dean’s spear had pierced Ghost’s chest, and blood had splattered in all directions.

The ghost’s body vanished, and the sphere containing the energy fell to the ground.

As usual, Dean had tossed it into his inventory.

He now had six energy spheres.

The young man had wanted to look back at Percival, so he’d turned his head.

He’d seen what was happening at that moment, and the smile on his face had grown even wider.

Right where Percival had been standing, there were exactly seven energy spheres on the ground.

Dean’s servant had already mowed down seven Ghosts.

The fact that Percival had fought in the coliseum every year for an incredibly long time had, of course, given him combat experience.

And when one considered the power granted by the sword in his hand and the levels he had gained from the mana essences he had already consumed... Percival was now practically a god compared to his former self.

Dean didn’t need to do anything at all.

Everyone’s eyes were fixed on him.

The young man beckoned the others over with a wave of his hand, clearly instructing them to leave the area at the back of the cabin where the battle was still raging.

The remaining eleven people managed to run away from there, even if they had to be forced to do so.

The enemy ghosts had begun to fall one by one.

Dean, looking at Percival, said, "Don’t kill the last one; just wound them."

Percival shouted, "Yes, my lord!" and launched a series of attacks on the final ghost, trying to pin it down.

"SLASH!!!"

"AAAARRRRGGKKK!!!"

With Percival’s attack, the ghost leader’s arm was severed, whilst Dean, at that very moment, sent Moon’s Rope forward to restrain the ghost leader.

He then turned to the company staff and asked, "Aren’t you going to ask how he blocked your powers?"

At Dean’s words, the leader of the employees, who were already in a daze, stepped forward and, just as Dean had said, began the interrogation.

Within a very short time, Amber was personally placed under the protection of the medical team, the power block vanished, and the ghost leader was killed, his orb brought directly to Dean.

Percival continued to stand right beside Dean.

"I can’t thank you enough... sir?" Nie Li had asked.

Dean had smiled and then said, "Call me Decanus."

"That... is a unique name, sir," Nie Li replied.

Dean smiled and said, "Yeah, pretty much."

When translated from ancient Latin, ’Decanus’ meant ’Dean’.

The young man had not wanted to say his name outright.

As a result, he now had a mask to protect him.

He’d simply wanted to put up a small barrier to protect himself, so he’d blurted out the first name that came to mind.

"Sir. Is there something you want from us? If it’s money, we’ll give you all we can; if it’s unlimited Sky Express rides in the best cabin every time, we’ll give you that. Just make a wish, and we’ll make it happen."

When the leader of the staff spoke these words, Dean paused for a few seconds, then turned to the people standing directly behind him and looked at them for a few seconds.

"How about making a small change to my ticket and those of the others?" Dean asked.

The staff exchanged glances a few times.

Their leader, however, asked straight away, "Of course, sir. What sort of change would you like us to make?"

Dean showed him his ticket and said, "We all need to go to the Skyline Borders."

Within barely five minutes, the tickets of all twelve passengers had been completely reissued.

Thus, when the ordeal came to an end shortly afterwards, everyone would be considered to have survived and completed the mission.

Dean could not even begin to imagine what sort of impact his actions would have on the whole world.
