This seems to be the only explanation for why Rowena Ravenclaw suddenly appeared in the portrait of the castle.

"No, my era ended a thousand years ago, and whatever the castle has become now has nothing to do with me," Ravenclaw said. "I am observing you."

"Observing me?" Kael pointed to himself.

"Yes." Ravenclaw did not explain further, only saying again, "You seem a bit confused."

"From a student’s perspective alone, you have achieved perfection, even in my time, few could surpass you at your grade level."

"Tha-thank you," Kael smacked his lips and said.

This counts as a compliment... it should count as one.

"And I’m glad you’ve restrained your desires."

"Huh?" Kael was puzzled.

"Because you haven’t become obsessed with more powerful magic."

Ravenclaw continued, "I’ve seen many geniuses who often spend their whole lives chasing more dazzling magic and more powerful strengths, gradually drifting away from the original intent of learning magic and becoming servants of power."

"I suppose you’ve been to the Restricted Area of the library," she suddenly asked.

Kael nodded, "Okay, I admit I broke school rules."

There was no denying it; he not only went there but also copied nearly half of the forbidden books.

He then ran to the portrait, "You saw it too, didn’t you? Someone was just standing here, you must have seen it, right?"

"Hey, I don’t know what you’re talking about." Violet, disturbed, glanced sideways at Ron with discontent, "It’s always been just me here."

"You didn’t see?"

"Why would I lie to you?" Violet said impatiently, "Leave me in peace, don’t disturb my rest."

"You heard that?" Hermione walked over, "Don’t be silly, Apparition is forbidden in the castle, Kael isn’t an exception."

"Yeah," Harry agreed, "you must have been reading too much, it’s messing with your eyes."

"I say, Hermione, we really don’t need to waste time in the library."

"No, there’s one place we haven’t checked yet."

"Where?"

"The Restricted Area!"

"That’s against school rules unless we can get a professor’s signature."

The two walked away further; Ron, still standing in place, was a bit dumbfounded.

He clearly saw Kael just now, why hadn’t the person in the portrait seen him?

Could he really have been seeing things?
