Chapter 940: Chapter 749: Make-up Class (2)

Every day, if not daydreaming in the common room, I would run to the edge of the Forbidden Forest to find Hagrid.

"Listen, Kael, you can’t be this idle, this is the sixth time you’ve been here this week."

Finally, even Hagrid couldn’t resist any longer and said cautiously, "Of course, it’s not that I’m not welcoming you, but with exams coming up, don’t you need to study? Even Harry has started studying."

"Study?" Kael didn’t even need a wand; with just a casual gesture, he made the teapot on the stove float up and pour two cups of steaming tea.

The entire process was extraordinarily smooth, as if an invisible person was holding the teapot.

"Alright... pretend I didn’t say anything." Hagrid quickly closed his mouth.

I have to admit, with Kael’s current abilities, he could definitely handle the N.E.W.T.s, and it seemed he really didn’t need to study.

But as a professor, there are certain things he had to say.

"Where’s Conna? I haven’t seen her recently," Hagrid changed the topic, "You guys haven’t had a fight, have you? Let me tell you, she’s a good girl, you..."

"Fight? How could that be." Kael interrupted Hagrid, shaking his head, "She’s recently become fascinated with Ancient Magic Potions and spends almost every day by the cauldron, not even letting me help."

This is also the main reason Kael is idle.

Despite Kael’s repeated claims that studying Ancient Magic Potions wasn’t very significant, as those things weren’t suitable for the current wizards, Conna found new joy in it.

So, she decisively abandoned Kael and ran off to the underground classroom.

Initially, Kael wanted to help, but Magic Potions weren’t his strong suit. After being rejected by Conna a couple of times, he gave up.

Now it’s Snape helping her; every time Kael visits, he’s met with sarcasm, so he’d rather wander aimlessly around the castle.

"How’s your spider doing?" Kael directed the teapot back to the stove and asked, "Do you need me to brew some more tonic?"

"Thanks, but there’s no need for that." Hagrid waved his hand, looking a bit forlorn, "Aragog is too old; it’s unrelated to the tonic."

"Well then... okay." Seeing Hagrid say so, Kael didn’t insist and instead asked, "What about Grawp? Has he gotten used to life in the Forbidden Forest?"

"Grawp is adapting well." Mentioning his giant brother, Hagrid’s mood lifted, "The environment in the Forbidden Forest makes him very comfortable, at least he doesn’t have to worry about being driven out by other giants anymore,

Even though the Centaurs are a little unhappy and have tried several times to drive Grawp away, they can’t... haha, those conceited guys!"

Because of Grawp, the relationship between Hagrid and the Centaurs had recently soured. Although there hadn’t been any fights, it was no longer amicable.

Kael could understand this.

The Centaurs had always regarded the Forbidden Forest as their territory. When Hagrid placed the Three-Headed Dog, Fluffy, in it, it had already caused dissatisfaction among the Centaurs. Now, bringing in a giant, it’s normal for them to object.

After all, who would like having two natural enemies living right at their doorstep... whether it’s a Three-Headed Dog or a Giant, both could flatten the Centaur’s tribe in a fit of rage.

Unfortunately, the Forbidden Forest didn’t belong to the Centaurs; no matter how much they protested, it was futile.

Unless they could defeat Dumbledore and overthrow Hogwarts.

But if they had that kind of power, they wouldn’t have to worry about the Three-Headed Dog and the Giant anymore.

...

After staying with Hagrid for a while longer, Kael was sent back to the castle by him.

In Hagrid’s words, as a professor, he really couldn’t stand to see Kael idling around like that. Before he did something that would affect their relationship, it was best not to see it.

Helplessly, Kael had no choice but to return to the castle, searching for other ways to kill time.

He wandered aimlessly through the castle for a while, planning to check out the underground classroom again.

But just as he passed the second floor, a painting called out to him.

"You seem a bit lost." The voice was very familiar.

Kael turned his head and found it was the painting of the witch, Violet. She’s a friend of the Fat Lady, and they often drink together.

But what puzzled Kael was that her eyes seemed off... how to put it, they were too calm, as if indifferent to everything.

It’s hard to imagine someone with such eyes would sneak off to drink others’ wine with the Fat Lady.

Moreover, Kael felt a sense of familiarity. Though he couldn’t pinpoint it, he could at the very least confirm that the person in this painting wasn’t Violet.

"Who are you?" he asked nervously.

"It’s me." Violet spoke again, but this time, there was a silver Diadem adorned with Sapphire on her head.

In an instant, Kael recognized her; it had been so long that he almost forgot this person in the castle.

Other than Rowena Ravenclaw, who else could wear this Diadem?

"Can you control the paintings in the castle?" Kael couldn’t help but ask.

"It’s not really control," Ravenclaw said calmly. "After all, I’m just a memory now; the only difference between me and a painting is that I don’t have a frame."

"Yes, yes." Violet’s voice changed, she spoke animatedly, "And I’m doing it willingly, Lady Ravenclaw, I’m very happy to share a frame with you."

But nobody paid attention to her.

"So are you... wanting to see how Hogwarts is these days?" Kael asked tentatively.
