Chapter 108: Chapter 108 : Lilith (1)
Henry stood up from the sofa and stretched while A Christmas Carol continued playing on the television.
The house remained unusually peaceful, and he figured it was about time to wake everyone before Dean managed to sleep through half of Christmas morning.
As he started toward the stairs, a sharp snapping sound came from outside. Not particularly loud, but close. Curious, he walked to the window overlooking the backyard and pulled the curtain aside.
A man was digging in his garden.
The stranger was working near the outer edge of the property with obvious urgency, throwing dirt aside as though searching for something buried beneath the ground.
There was no reason for anyone to be there, especially on Christmas morning.
Henry shoved the window open. "Hey! What the hell are you doing? This is private property!"
The stranger stopped and looked up. For a brief moment their eyes met and then the man abandoned the shovel and sprinted away across the property.
"Hmph. Can’t even get a break on Christmas Day."
He had barely taken a few steps before an explosion detonated outside.
The mansion shook violently. Every window shattered at once while cracks raced through the walls.
Henry spun back toward the backyard, and the moment he looked outside he realized the explosion had been the least of their problems.
The wards were collapsing.
Months of layered protections unraveled in seconds as invisible barriers shattered throughout the estate.
Dark smoke poured upward from every direction, rising in countless streams that merged high above the mansion until the sky disappeared beneath an enormous black mass that kept growing.
Henry felt the energy immediately. Demonic energy. So overwhelming that even he felt a chill move through his body.
"Oh, shit."
"DEAN! SAM! DEMONS!" His voice echoed through every hallway. "EVERYONE GET TO THE MAIN HALL NOW!"
Doors burst open upstairs while footsteps thundered through the house. Another tremor struck before anyone arrived, the entire structure groaning as stress fractures spread through its foundation.
Dean appeared first with the demon-killing knife already drawn.
Sam followed with both a shotgun and the demon blade, Bela and Madison emerging moments later. One look at Henry’s expression told them everything.
"What happened?" Dean demanded.
Henry pointed toward the window. Dean looked outside and went silent. Sam stepped forward beside him and froze.
The sky had disappeared.
An endless swarm of demons filled the air above the estate, their dark forms stretching from one horizon to the other.
Countless burning eyes stared downward while an oppressive pressure settled over everything. Every direction contained more figures hovering in the darkness, watching the mansion below.
Another tremor slammed into the estate. Support beams snapped, stone walls split apart, and the foundation began giving way beneath its own weight.
"Henry!" Madison shouted.
He never looked away from the sky.
Golden-blue energy erupted from his body as Ether flooded every muscle and nerve. Sapphire light wrapped around him while his hair and eyes transformed beneath the surge of power.
The shockwave released by Ether Mode swept through the collapsing mansion like a hurricane, and the building never had the opportunity to finish falling.
Walls exploded outward, floors disintegrated, the roof shattered into fragments that scattered across the property.
Standing beneath the open sky only made the scale worse.
Hundreds of demons floated overhead, their numbers so vast the sky itself had become a living nightmare.
Dean tightened his grip on the knife until his knuckles turned white. "What the hell? Are all those demons?"
Sam swallowed. "Yeah, Dean. Every single one of them."
Ether crackled around Henry’s body as he stared upward. He already knew what this meant.
Demons didn’t gather like this without orders, and only one being in Hell possessed enough authority to command an army of this size.
Lilith.
The name had barely crossed his mind when a deafening bang tore through the sky.
Something enormous came hurtling down from the demonic army — a steel beam, spinning through the air like a missile with enough force to flatten everything in its path.
Henry’s hand shot upward. A massive Ether barrier materialized above them and the beam slammed into it, the impact sending a shockwave across the estate that carved deep trenches into the ground.
The barrier bent but held. Henry punched forward, Ether surging through the construct, and the beam launched back into the sky and tore through the demonic ranks before vanishing into the darkness.
A cold laugh echoed across the battlefield.
The demons parted.
A small figure descended slowly from the center of the army while every demon lowered their head. Blonde hair, a white dress, and a smile that looked completely wrong on her face.
Lilith.
Her gaze settled on Sam and Dean, and the smile widened.
"Winchesters," she said softly, her voice carrying across the ruined estate. "It’s about time you died."
