Chapter 109: Chapter 109 : Lilith (2)

"Is that a child?" Madison asked.

"Demon wearing a child’s face," Dean said flatly.

Lilith’s gaze settled on Henry with something between curiosity and amusement. "Henry Winchester. The nightmare of demons."

Whatever this human had become, it sat well outside the boundaries of anything she would normally classify as one — and she felt that distinction clearly.

"Lilith. The biggest whore of Hell," Henry replied, lowering one hand behind his back slow enough that nobody noticed.

"Calling me names." Her expression didn’t shift a degree.

"You aren’t my concern though. My business is with Sam and Dean." Her eyes drifted toward Sam with quiet calculation.

"Hell’s throne doesn’t accommodate two contenders. One of them has a destiny, and it isn’t the older brother."

Dean stared at her. "What the hell is she even talking about?"

A competition for Hell’s throne? Since when was that something anyone wanted, let alone something Sam was apparently in the running for?

Lilith glanced at him the way someone glances at furniture. "Always the blunt instrument, Dean. So much potential wasted." White light gathered in her raised palm. "Let me fix that."

A spear of blue light punched through the air and buried itself in her chest.

Lilith looked down at it with mild curiosity, the way someone might examine an insect that had landed on their sleeve. The spear dissolved. The wound sealed itself, leaving nothing behind.

"Cute," she said. "Try that on something that can actually die."

Henry clicked his tongue.

The attack had confirmed his worst suspicion. Lilith didn’t simply outclass ordinary demons — she existed on a completely different level.

The Ether spear had been powerful enough to erase most demons outright, and she had treated it as a minor inconvenience.

Around them the barrier shuddered violently, massive cracks spreading across its surface as thousands of demons hammered it from every direction.

Dark energy crashed against the shield in waves, each impact sending fractures deeper through the construct.

Henry felt the drain immediately. Ether wasn’t limitless, and at this rate the barrier would collapse long before the demons stopped coming.

Dean noticed first. The cracks, the sweat on Henry’s forehead, the shield destabilizing with every hit.

"Henry..."

The sarcasm was gone from his voice. Sam had gone quiet beside him.

Henry’s eyes closed briefly. There were still options. None of them were good.

He turned toward the others. "Dean. Sam." The tone stopped them both cold. "Take care of Madison and Bela until I get out of this."

Neither Winchester moved for a moment. That didn’t sound like a plan. It sounded like a goodbye.

Dean’s expression darkened. "The hell does that mean?"

Henry didn’t answer. Dozens of glowing circles expanded outward around the group, complex Ether formations spreading in every direction as a transparent sphere began taking shape around all four of them.

"No." Dean’s voice carried genuine alarm. "No, no, no — don’t you dare." He slammed his fist against the barrier as it solidified. "Let me out! Do you think this is funny?"

The impact left nothing behind.

Sam stepped forward, voice quieter but no less urgent. "We fight together."

Henry looked away. That alone made Sam’s stomach drop.

"Sorry." The word came out quietly. His gaze shifted to Madison, guilt crossing his face for just a moment. "Sorry, Madison."

He thrust his hand forward.

The sphere launched upward like a cannon shell, rocketing Dean, Sam, Madison, and Bela into the sky at impossible speed until they were nothing but a distant speck.

Dean was still pounding against the walls and shouting Henry’s name.

Henry didn’t watch it go.

Lilith had observed the entire exchange in silence. The moment the sphere cleared the battlefield she moved.

A steel rod erupted through Henry’s shoulder. Another tore through his thigh. A third punched through his side before his enhanced senses had even registered the first.

Blood sprayed across the ruined ground and a fourth projectile smashed through his leg, driving him down onto one knee. Pain detonated through his body. His Ether flickered.

Lilith lowered her hand, a faint smile settling on her face. The others leaving hadn’t upset her at all. If anything, she looked satisfied.

"Most humans would already be dead," she said, moving toward him slowly.

Henry gritted his teeth and forced himself upright, blood dripping onto the shattered remains of the estate.

"If I’m going down," he said, blue light beginning to bleed from his chest, "I’m taking every last one of you with me."

He raised his fist, pouring every remaining fragment of Ether into the movement.

"Ether Burst."

He drove his fist into the air.

[Revanth Impact — Triggered]

Reality cracked.

A spiderweb of fractures spread through the air itself before everything within range detonated at once.

The ground ruptured, and the shockwave tore outward in every direction, consuming everything between them. The demons caught in its path didn’t even have time to react.

Their bodies were swallowed by the blast, ripped apart and erased as the wave of destruction rolled through them without slowing. The earth split open behind them, debris launching skyward while the air screamed under the force of the attack.
