Chapter 95: Chapter 95 Here she was again

He wasn’t going to, actually make her pay him over a hundred thousand for those pants, was he?

The very thought was terrifying.

“Ollie, look at the mess you’ve gotten me into. Now I’m stuck at this man’s house. If I

can’t afford to pay for his pants, he might have...”

What would he do to her?

Alana bit her lip, not daring to think about it further.

The big golden retriever seemed to realize he’d caused trouble too; he barked twice and walked over to lick the back of Alana’s hand in an attempt to win her favor.

She sighed, realizing this was no longer something she could handle on her own.

It would be best to let Luca know.

Alana pulled out her phone, found Luca contact information, and typed a text

message, telling him exactly what had just happened.

Just as she hit send, the man walked over again.

Alana quickly put her phone down and stared intently at the man walking toward her with clear eyes, her gaze betraying a hint of deer-like unease.

Stephan, his face expressionless, placed the disinfectants he was holding, iodine solution, gauze, and cotton swabs, one by one on the coffee table in front of her.

Alana froze for a moment at the sight of the supplies.

Had he just...been preparing to bring out these supplies to treat her wound?

Suddenly, a faint ripple stirred in her heart.

Stephan walked over to her, knelt down on one knee, and said, “Stretch out your leg.” He held a cotton swab and a bottle of povidone-iodine in his hand.

Alana felt a bit awkward. “I...I’ll do it myself...”

“I don’t want to say it again. Stretch out your leg.”

Alana bit her lip but slowly extended her injured knee slightly toward him.

Stephan raised his eyes, glanced at Alana, and said indifferently, “Don’t think I’m applying this medicine because I care about you. I’m just afraid that you, with your ungrateful nature, might try to extort money from me without distinguishing right from wrong.”

Alana’s eyelashes fluttered slightly. She lowered her head, too embarrassed to speak. “I...I know. Don’t worry. My knee injury has nothing to do with you. I won’t try to extort you.”

She’d tripped and fallen by accident, how could she possibly blame him?

Stephan’s expression was stern, and his tone was chillingly cold. “Who knows? After all, a certain woman has repeatedly taken advantage of men’s bodies without paying a dime, very irresponsible.”

Alana gasped. As if the previous times were her trying to seduce him.

She had no idea who was the one acting so indecently day after day, trying every trick in the book to seduce a respectable young woman like her.

Although she had a few internal complaints, she kept her wits about her and didn’t voice them aloud.

After all, she couldn’t win an argument against him.

Stephan dipped a cotton swab in some iodine solution and applied it to the scrape on the girl’s knee.

“Ow!”

The moment the swab touched the wound, Alana instinctively pulled her leg back.

Frowning, she looked up at his chiseled yet aloof face, her voice soft, part pleading, part petulant.

“Gently... gently... it hurts...”

Stephan’s eyes darkened.

So what if it hurts? Why was she moaning so seductively?

Was she trying to seduce him?

She knew full well he couldn’t resist her seduction.

Despite that, his touch grew a little gentler. After applying iodine to her knee, he looked up at her. “Your hand.”

Alana blinked her slightly moist eyes and said, “My hand’s fine, it’s not as bad as my knee.”

Stephan frowned. “Don’t think just because it’s not serious, you can ignore it. If the wound gets inflamed or infected and leaves a scar, you’ll regret it.”

“Oh, all right...”

Alana held out her hand anyway.

The scrape on her palm was, as expected, not as bad as the one on her knee. But Stephan remained serious as he carefully cleaned away the scraped skin.

The girl sniffled softly in pain.

She looked as if she wanted to cry but was holding back.

He couldn’t help but look up, and before he knew it, his gaze met the girl’s beautiful,

tear-filled eyes.

They were bright and glistening.

Like a wounded little white rabbit, looking utterly pitiful.

Alana saw the man’s deep, piercing gaze and bit her lip, shyly turning her face away.

She didn’t want him to see her looking so disheveled.

Just looking at the girl with her slightly reddened eyes, Stephan already felt a pang of sympathy for her.

He furrowed his brow slightly, almost wanting to scold himself for being so weak at this moment.

Of all the women in the world, why did his heart ache for her?

Stephan suppressed his emotions. “Bear with it. We haven’t even started applying the medicine yet.”

Alana’s eyes were red, and she pouted slightly before nodding, looking very obedient.

Stephan’s breath caught in his throat, overcome by an impulse to pin her down, kiss her forcefully, and make her gasp for air in his embrace.

He shook off those unwelcome thoughts and picked up the powder again.

He continued to dip a cotton swab into the powder and apply it to the wound.

The powder stung her skin, and she instinctively wanted to cry out, but she bit her lip and held back the sound.

Stephan seemed to notice this; he furrowed his brow, then suddenly leaned close to her wound and blew gently on it.

His cool breath touched her wound, mingling with the powder as it seeped in.

The sensation made Alana’s heart flutter.

She bit her lip and couldn’t help but lower her gaze, watching the man crouched before her as he carefully applied the medicine.

Her breathing grew lighter.

The man’s thick eyebrows were slightly furrowed, his thin lips pressed together, his gaze focused.

They say a man looks his best when he’s focused.

She hadn’t seen it for herself, so she wouldn’t comment.

But seeing him now, applying the medicine with such care, made her heart flutter for some inexplicable reason.

At that moment. She was watching him intently. He was carefully applying the ointment to her wound.

Noticing that she was distracted, he blew gently on her wound.

The scene was a rare moment of warmth.

Two pets, a cat and a dog, sat right beside them, staring blankly and intently.

It seemed as though they understood something; in perfect unison, they remained silent and didn’t disturb them.

Stephan wrapped Alana’s wound with gauze and secured it with a bandage.

When he was done, he looked up and caught Alana staring right back at him.

The girl’s round, beautiful eyes were like a clear spring, crystal-clear to the very bottom.

Having just cried, the corners of her eyes were still tinged with a moist redness, adding a touch of heartbreaking vulnerability.

It made me want to kiss her. Alana caught him staring and blinked.

Then, without warning, she turned her head away. Stephan struggled to suppress the faint, wicked thought stirring within him.

He gave a faint snort and said, “Alright, as for this injury, you’re not allowed to get it wet for a week.”

“Oh, thank you.”

Furrowing his brow, he suddenly stood up and placed both hands on either side of her. Caught off guard, Alana leaned back against the sofa.

Before her stood the man’s powerful, scorching body, along with a pair of piercing eyes that radiated an overwhelming sense of aggression.

“Didn’t I tell you that instead of saying ‘thank you,’ I’d much rather you make it up to me with some concrete action?”

Alana’s cheeks flushed slightly as she awkwardly turned her face away. “This... isn’t appropriate...You said it was over between us...”

Stephan couldn’t help but grip her chin, turning her face toward him.

The color of his dark eyes was deep and intense, like a pitch-black night, bottomless. “It’s true we’re over, but then why did you show up in front of me? And you even tripped right in front of me, is this some ploy to get my attention?”

Just when he barely tried to moved on, here she was again, making his heart flutter for her so bad.
