Chapter 74: Chapter 74 Something for you

Alana was furious. Gritting her teeth, she typed.

Alana:What are you doing at my place? Get out of there right now!

Stephan chuckled softly, his mind inexplicably conjuring an image of the girl losing her temper.

Stephan:I have something for you.

Alana replied without hesitation.

Alana: I don’t want it.

Stephan snorted lightly.

Stephan: You’re refusing before you even know what I’m giving you?

Her reply came again.

Alana I don’t want it! don’t want any of it. Go home!

Stephan remained unmoved.

Stephan: Before I go, I want to know where you’ve been. It’s so late and you haven’t come home yet.

Alana: I’m not telling you.

They weren’t exactly close, so why would she tell him where she is?

If she tells him, he’ll just get even more pushy.

Stephan: If you’re not telling me, does that mean you’re secretly up to something behind my back?

Stephan’s dark eyes narrowed dangerously, as if he’d guessed something.

Stephan: Could it be that you’re secretly meeting some other man behind my back?

Alana didn’t know how to reply.

His texts came again.

Stephan: Alana, isn’t having me as your “man” enough?

What on earth did he just say?!

He actually called him self her “man”!

Alana saw the man’s reply and couldn’t help but blush, feeling inexplicably nervous.

Alana: What do you mean, "man"? Mr. Fu, watch your language. You’re not my "man."

Stephan quickly tried to salvage the situation:

Stephan: I am your man!

Alana was so furious she didn’t want to speak to him.

How could this man be such a jerk?!

Luca noticed Alana’s sudden emotional outburst and asked curiously, “What’s wrong?”

Alana clenched her jaw slightly.

She turned her head and gave Luca an awkward smile. “Nothing. It’s nothing.”

Luca smiled back. “Who were you chatting with? You seem pretty upset...”

Alana answered instinctively, “A dog.”

Luca was taken aback. “Huh?”

Alana realized what she’d said and quickly explained, “No, no, it’s just...a regular friend...”

“An ordinary friend? Male or female?”

Luca was a bit curious. Who could possibly have the power to make this usually elegant and quiet pretty girl suddenly become so tensed?

Alana bit her lip, racking her brain for an excuse. “A guy. He’s my... my creditor. He came over to collect a debt from me.

So... well, you know.”

Luca was surprised. “You’re in debt? How much? Do you need me to help you?”

Alana. “No, no need. It’s not much, and I’ll pay it back soon...”

“No wonder Eve said you were in such a hurry to find a part-time job. So you

owe someone money and you are rushing to pay it back.”

Alana felt awkward and just smiled without saying a word.

Luca, concerned, said, “If you really can’t pay it back, I don’t mind lending you some

money to tide you over. We’re friends, don’t be shy about asking me.”

“Okay...”She drawled

Luca added, “Besides, I’ve heard debt collectors have been pretty aggressive lately. Some people will stop at nothing to get their money back, they’ll do anything. Like harassing you with text messages and phone calls, showing up at your door to block your way, or even, if they see you’re pretty, bullying you and humiliating you. So, you need to be careful. If you run into any danger you can’t handle on your own, call me or call the police.”

Alana awkwardly ran her fingers through her hair. “Okay, sure.”

It really was awkward, he’d hit the nail on the head.

Luca walked Alana to the entrance of her apartment complex.

Alana politely thanked him and said goodbye before leaving.

Luca watched her slender figure fade into the distance. Even after she had

completely disappeared from his sight, he still couldn’t tear his eyes away.

He felt that Alana’s appearance and personality perfectly matched his ideal girlfriend.

Plus, his two pets really liked her too.

If Alana could be his girlfriend, it would be a great decision.

A woman at home, pets by his side, life would be complete. He’d wait until he returned from his business trip.

Once he returns from his business trip, he’ll make a serious effort to pursue her.

As Alana walked back to her apartment complex, she couldn’t help but wonder.

She wondered if that man had left yet.

What if he was still standing at her doorstep.

Alana felt an inexplicable shiver run through her.

Fortunately, when she stepped out of the elevator, she didn’t see him anywhere.

Maybe he didn’t know she was coming home and had already left.

Alana let out a sigh of relief, walked slowly to her front door, looked down for her keys,

inserted them into the lock, and opened the door.

Just as she was about to step inside, a large hand suddenly grabbed her wrist.

Instantly, she was shoved through the door by that force.

With a bang, the door slammed shut.

Alana’s slender body was forcefully pressed against the wall by a powerful, muscular male frame.

The coldness of the wall stood in stark contrast to the man’s scorching, burning body.

The jarring sensation of ice and fire made her shiver and flinch.

Looking at the man pinning her down, her breathing quickened, her red lips trembling slightly, her voice quivering with vulnerability.

“Step...Stephan...You... why haven’t you left yet?”

His eyes were deep and intense as his slender fingers gently lifted the girl’s delicate chin.

He saw the panic and helplessness in her eyes clearly, leaving her nowhere to hide.

He gazed into her beautiful, mist-like eyes and whispered, “How could I possibly leave without you being here?”

Facing his intense gaze, Alana couldn’t help but feel nervous and at a loss.

“I...I’m back now. Can you rest easy now? Let, let me go first...”

Her left hand was still held fast by him, pinned against the wall along with her.

Also, he was pressed so close to her that every breath she took was filled with the

scorching heat of his breath, so intense it felt suffocating.

His chest was as hard as iron, almost pressing painfully against her soft bosom.

The man remained unmoved, his deep, dark eyes fixed on her fair, porcelain-like face as he asked, “Where did you go just now?”

Alana thought to herself, What business was it of his where she went?

She had her own freedom; did she really need to report every detail to him?

Besides, they weren’t even in a relationship.

Although that was what she was thinking, pinned down by him like this, she didn’t dare answer that way.

She was afraid of provoking his anger and facing his terrible punishment.

She replied, “No, I didn’t go anywhere. I was just wandering around...”

She didn’t dare tell him she’d gone to Luca’s house to see his pets.
