Chapter 119: Chapter 119 Who sent it

Darla was speechless for a moment.

She had already witnessed this man’s venomous tongue, but she never expected to experience it again, and nearly be poisoned by it.

She gritted her teeth. “Stephan, has anyone ever told you that you have a very venomous tongue?”

He replied calmly, “Yes, the readers in the comments section said so. Blogs tend to post all kinds of stories about me. I’ve replied to some and they even said that if I licked my own lips, I could poison myself to death.”

Darla was again thrown into speechlessness.

“From now on, Miss Gordon, please try to avoid me whenever you see me. Otherwise, I’m afraid my future girlfriend might get the wrong idea.”

Stephan said this nonchalantly, then left Darla behind and went off for a run on his own.

After all, a great physique needs to be maintained.

When the opportunity arises, he’d have to send that little bunny a photo of his abs to seduce her again.

Darla watched the man gradually fade into the distance and couldn’t help but laugh in exasperation.

This was the first time she’d ever encountered a man so hard to reel in.

But what could she do? It had only served to ignite her intense desire to conquer him.

“Stephan, I’ll have you sooner or later!”

Alana ate breakfast and headed to the office.

When she arrived, she found the project department bustling with activity; quite a few colleagues had gathered around her desk, whispering among themselves.

Curious, she walked over and finally understood why everyone had gathered there. It turned out there was a huge bouquet of roses.

“Whose roses are these?”

Carla leaned in close to Alana and explained excitedly, “Lana, these roses are for you!”

“A delivery guy just suddenly showed up holding a bouquet of roses, saying they were for you. We told him where your desk was, and he left them there before leaving.”

Alana froze. For her?

Who sent them?

She examined the bouquet closely.

There was no note attached; she had no idea who sent them.

Alana fell deep in thought.

Could it be... that man, Stephan?

Given that he had a delivery guy bring her breakfast last time, this bouquet was most likely his doing.

Her colleagues gathered around, exclaiming dramatically.

“Wow, these roses are absolutely gorgeous! And I just counted, there are eleven roses, symbolizing a man’s undivided devotion to a woman. How sweet and romantic!”

“Alana, this must be from a guy who’s been chasing after you. Come on, tell us, have you been dating anyone lately? Got a boyfriend?”

“Exactly! If you’ve got a boyfriend, you’ve gotta bring him in for us to meet him!”

Everyone was curious about what kind of boyfriend Alana had. After all, she was so beautiful, her boyfriend couldn’t be too shabby, right?

Alana gave a faint smile. “I’m not dating anyone yet. I don’t even know who sent these flowers. We’ll talk about it if it actually happens.”

Carla nodded. “She’s right. Everyone, don’t be so nosy, work comes first!”

Seeing that Alana was truly unwilling to talk about it, her colleagues didn’t feel comfortable pressing her further and began to drift away in small groups.

Alana stared at the bouquet of red roses in front of her, unable to resist picking it up and bringing it close to her nose to take a whiff.

Surprisingly, they smelled quite nice.

This wasn’t the first time she’d received flowers from a man. Other men had given her flowers before, but they’d never made her feel anything, and she’d turned them all down.

But the moment she realized this bouquet was from Stephan.

Deep down she actually felt a flicker of sweetness.

Still, even if he wanted to give her flowers, did he really have to be so brazen about it?

He could have just given them to her privately.

It was way too blatant, as someone with social anxiety, she felt just a bit awkward.

Alana held the roses and sniffed them for a while before taking out her phone to snap a photo of them.

After taking the photo, she tapped Stephan’s WhatsApp profile, sent it to him, and added a message.

Alana:[I received the flowers you sent me. Thank you, I really like them.]

[But could you please not send them to my office in the future? Having so many colleagues gawk at me makes me feel a bit shy.]

She thought for a moment, realizing her wording sounded a bit too serious, so she browsed through her sticker library.

She found a sticker of a little white rabbit looking awkward and sent it over.

Hmm, this way, she seemed a bit more approachable.

The message was sent.

Alana didn’t wait for the man to reply; she put down her phone and turned on her computer.

Stephan had also just arrived at his company.

In the office.

He was wearing a black suit with a white shirt underneath, a black tie, sitting upright and dignified in his chair, legs crossed, holding a stack of documents and flipping through them casually.

Vance was dutifully reporting to him.

He responded sporadically, his calm tone exuding a sense of ease.

It was clear he was in a good mood.

Just as Vance was about to launch into a passionate speech, the screen of the phone resting on the man’s desk suddenly lit up.

Stephan glanced at it, then raised his hand slightly, cutting off Vance’s chance to continue speaking.

Vance cast a curious glance.

He quickly noticed the WhatsApp message that had popped up on the screen.

A nickname: “Little White Rabbit Lana”

Such an intimate nickname, who could it be?

When Stephan saw it was from Alana, the corners of his mouth couldn’t help but turn up. This little girl actually took the initiative to message him?

This was a first!

It seemed that even the most stubborn woman could be won over by persistence.

Had she finally succumbed to his “gentle” advances and started responding to him?

It had to be.

It could be said that the mere thought of this possibility had the man secretly thrilled beyond belief.

Vance eyed Stephan’s upturned lips, which looked slightly smug, and, overcome by curiosity, couldn’t help but speak up,

“Ahem, CEO...”

Stephan shot him a cold glance. “Shut up. Don’t bother me right now.”

Vance gasped and thought to himself.

‘Waaah, CEO, you’re so mean! Why won’t you share the good news with me?!’

He clearly wanted to be happy too!

In a good mood, Stephan opened the app and went straight to his chat box with Alana. However, the moment he saw her message, the smile on his lips froze instantly.

In its place was a deep, icy chill.

His dark eyes narrowed slightly as he tapped on the photo Alana had sent him.

It was a bouquet of fresh red roses, roughly eleven blooms, each in full, vibrant bloom, their fragrance filling the air.

Stephan stared at the roses in the photo, his gaze growing increasingly dangerous, tinged with a sharp, murderous intent.

Roses?

He hadn’t sent them to her.

After all, the last time he’d sent her breakfast, she’d warned him not to deliver anything to her workplace, so he’d been on his best behavior and hadn’t sent anything to her office to disturb her.

So, who exactly sent her this bouquet?!
