Chapter 118: Chapter 118 Reset your brain
The night deepened.
Perhaps stirred by the man’s presence, Alana actually had some rather shameful dreams.
In her dream.
The man’s clothes were disheveled, his long, muscular legs slightly parted.
She sat on his thighs, her slender waist gripped by one of his scorching-hot hands.
His other hand tightly held hers, constantly guiding her.
The man’s breathing was heavy, his voice hoarse and full of desire.
“Be a good girl, touch me...more...more...”
Next, his sensual, thin lips nipped at her ear, trying to restrain himself.
But he couldn’t hold back, panting heavily.
His whole body was consumed by desire.
Alana woke up with a start.
When she woke up, it was already daylight.
She couldn’t help but slap her burning cheeks.
How could she have had such dream?
It must be that dog of a man, Stephan, who’s corrupted her!
Still, last night, he was actually quite well-behaved, when she told him to leave, he actually left. She’d thought he’d be the kind to stick around no matter what.
If he behaves himself from now on, she wouldn’t mind shortening the probation period a bit.
Alana rested in bed for a moment before getting up and heading to the bathroom to wash up. After splashing water on her face, her mind felt much clearer.
She walked to the kitchen and made herself some noodles for breakfast.
While eating, she received a message from the man.
Stephan:[Are you up yet?]
A very casual greeting.
Alana bit her lip and replied quickly.
Alana: [Just got up a little while ago.]
The man replied just as quickly.
Stephan: [Me too. Getting ready to go for a run.]
There was a brief pause.
Stephan:[Want a pic of my abs?]
Even through the screen, she could sense the man’s mischievous, thoroughly mischievous teasing.
Alana, who was eating her noodles, nearly spit them out when she saw his question.
Her cheeks burned hot, and fearing he might actually send one, she hurriedly refused.
Alana: [No, thanks. Just go for your run.]
Stephan curved his lips. Teasing a cute little bunny first thing in the morning was a pretty nice way to start the day.
He put his phone away and went out for a run. He hadn’t been running long when a gentle voice called out to him.
“Stephan, wait!”
Stephan paused in his stride and turned to see Darla, wearing a pink tracksuit and a baseball cap, running toward him.
Darla ran up to Stephan, breathing slightly heavily.
She saw the man wearing a black tracksuit; the loose-fitting clothes couldn’t hide his sleek, perfect physique or his defined muscle lines.
He exuded a powerful aura of mature masculinity.
Coupled with his strikingly handsome, chiseled features, he was the center of attention wherever he went.
Also, his nose was high and straight.
Rumor has it that the larger a man’s nose, the larger he was in a certain area, and the more lustful he is.
Darla’s lips curved into a smile as she stopped in front of Stephan. “What a coincidence!”
“I’m out for a run this early in the morning, and I ran into you.”
Actually, it wasn’t a coincidence at all. She’d heard he had a habit of jogging in the mornings, so she’d deliberately arranged this “chance encounter.”
Since she hadn’t been able to have a romantic evening with him last night, she didn’t want to miss her chance this morning.
Stephan gave her a casual glance, his tone cold. “Miss Gordon, could you please pretend not to see me if you run into me in the future?”
Seeing her first thing in the morning was really ruining his mood.
Darla pressed her lips together and smiled. “I’m afraid I can’t do that. After all... your mother wants me to spend more time with you.”
Stephan’s lips curved slightly. “Besides telling you to spend more time with me, what else did my mother say?”
Darla looked at him, intently. “She said we’re a perfect match and that I’d make a suitable wife for you.”
When people were at a loss for words, they really do end up smiling.
And he truly couldn’t help but laugh.
Darla watched his reaction, the corners of her mouth curving upward. “What’s wrong? Do you think your mother was right too?”
Stephan gave a forced smile. “Miss Gordon, what do you think?”
Darla replied with a smile, “I think I’m more than a match for you. Whether it’s family background or personal ability, I’m more than capable. Being with you would be a perfect match, a union of two equals, a true power couple!”
“Oh, you’re quite confident, aren’t you?”
Darla smiled, her lips pressed together.
“I’m simply analyzing the facts objectively.”
Stephan’s tone was extremely cold. “But I’m sorry, I really have no interest in you.”
Darla bit her lip but remained stubborn. “We can get to know each other for a while. If, after spending more time together, you still don’t feel that way about me, it won’t be too late to reject me then.”
“I’m sorry, but I don’t want to continue seeing you at all.”
Darla frowned. “Why?”
Stephan thought of Alana’s pretty, innocent, and pure little face, and the corners of his mouth lifted casually.
“Because there’s a girl I like, and I’m currently pursuing her.”
“So, I need to uphold my moral standards, keep myself pure, and not fool around.”
Darla chuckled, unfazed.
She even suspected this was just an excuse Stephan was using to reject her.
However, she did quite admire Stephan’s self-discipline in upholding his moral standards and keeping himself pure.
If he were to become her boyfriend and still remain chaste for her sake, he’d be even more charming.
Darla said with a hint of amusement, “Who is that girl? I’m actually quite curious to see who this mysterious girl is, the one who has Mr. Hudson actively pursuing her.” Darla teased not believing a single word he had said.
She found it typical of him to make things up out of thin air.
A man like him, does he really need to actively pursue a girl he likes?
What woman could possibly withstand his relentless advances?
Never mind withstanding them, even if he merely cast a single admiring glance her way, she wouldn’t be able to resist throwing herself at him and offering herself up.
Stephan replied nonchalantly, “Once I’ve won her over, I’ll naturally bring her out to show off our love to you.”
Darla raised an eyebrow. Was he not willing to reveal her name?
That meant he was truly joking with her.
If there really were a girl he was pursuing, telling her the girl’s name wouldn’t be a big deal.
Since he was unwilling to reveal it, it meant that person doesn’t even exist.
Besides, the fact that he was willing to joke with her suggested he was not completely disinterested in her.
The more she thought about it, the more confident and composed Darla became.
Even if this mysterious girl truly existed, according to him, he hasn’t won her over yet and since he hasn’t won her over yet, it meant Darla still had a chance.
And maybe in the end, he’d realize she was his best.
As long as Stephan was willing to give her a chance to get close, she was certain she’d win him over!
Stephan curved his lips into a smile, his deep voice laced with a hint of sarcasm.
“Miss Hudson, confidence is a good thing, but too much confidence is a disease. You should go to the hospital sometime and get yourself checked out.”
He paused, as if remembering something, and slowly curled his thin lips.
“Oh, I almost forgot, you’re a doctor. With such confidence, your medical skills must be exceptional. But doctors can’t treat themselves. I’d still advise you to make an appointment with a psychologist. If that doesn’t work, I wouldn’t mind doing it for you. Tell me, what can I do to reset your brain?”
