Chapter 102: Chapter 102 No big deal
And that mature man, like a wolf, was eyeing her best friend with predatory intent.
Alana stared nervously at Stephan, finding him extremely dangerous. “Eve, do you need anything else? If there’s nothing else, I’ll hang up now...”
After all, she had witnessed the man’s power during their previous call and was terrified he might repeat his behavior from last time, treating her so outrageously.
Stephan saw the guarded look in the girl’s eyes and raised an eyebrow slightly.
It seemed he, too, was feeling a bit mischievous.
He reached out and tugged at the sash of Alana’s bathrobe again. Alana quickly grabbed the sash to keep it from coming loose, glaring at him as she did so.
Stephan curved his lips and continued to tug mischievously.
Just like teasing a kitten or a puppy.
As soon as he pulled it loose, Alana, embarrassed and annoyed, yanked it back.
The two of them went back and forth, tugging at each other relentlessly.
Eve had no idea what was going on over at Alana’s end. Hearing that she was about to hang up, she couldn’t help but ask out of curiosity, “Lana, let me ask you something. When you were with Luca, did you notice anything?”
Alana was locked in a standoff with the man, caught in a tug-of-war, and didn’t react immediately. “Noticed what?”
Eve said, “I noticed that Luca has a thing for you!”
Alana was a split second slow to catch on; she’d even forgotten to move the hand holding the strap. “Huh?”
She was naturally a bit slow when it came to matters of the heart and really hadn’t picked up on it.
Unless it was as obvious as with Stephan.
Seeing her daze off, Stephan’s eyes darkened, and he began tugging at her bathrobe sash again.
This time, he pulled a little harder. Her body swayed as he pulled, and she nearly toppled toward him.
After finally regaining her balance, she couldn’t help but glare at the mischievous man before asking,
“Is... is that really true?”
Eve said, “It’s true. When he called me just now, he sounded really anxious. I could tell he’s interested in you.”
Alana bit her lip. “I...I don’t believe you. Don’t make things up.”
“I’m not making this up. I really could tell that Luca has a thing for you.”
“Plus, he’s been asking me about you nonstop these past few days. It’s obvious he wants to pursue you and make you his girlfriend.”
Stephan listened to the conversation on the phone and couldn’t help but furrow his brow. What does that mean?
That bastard! It was one thing that he was interested in Alana, but he actually wanted to pursue her?
Doesn’t he know Alana has a boyfriend?
Could he possibly be trying to be the other man?!
Stephan thought he was already low enough, after all, knowing he was the other man and acting like her boyfriend.
But he never expected another man to be just as despicable as he was.
Upon hearing Eve’s words, Alana couldn’t help but glance nervously at Stephan. “Eve, don’t say such things. It’s getting late. I... I’m going to get some rest.”
Eve thought Alana was just being shy, and couldn’t help but chuckle. “What’s wrong? Someone like Stephan isn’t too bad, he’s a rich kid with some money at home. Why don’t you give him some thought?”
“No, that’s not it. I’m really tired. I have to work tomorrow...”
Eve chuckled, “Alright, alright. I know you’re a workaholic. I won’t bother you anymore. But I still hope you’ll consider it...”
Alana couldn’t help but interrupt, “I’m not considering it. He’s not my type. Bye!”
With that, she hung up the phone.
She looked up and met Stephan’s intense gaze, which was clearly probing.
Alana couldn’t help but feel a little guilty.
“Why are you looking at me like that?”
He leaned in, closing the distance between them. Sensing her attempt to step back, he reached out and wrapped his arm around her slender waist.
Trapping her in his embrace.
His dark eyes narrowed, deep and dangerous.
“Alana, your best friend is quite the vixen. She knows you have a boyfriend, yet she still encourages you to consider other men. What’s this? Did you suddenly realize your boyfriend, the one always on a business trip, isn’t up to the task, and you’re thinking of finding a replacement?”
Alana froze.
She looked at him with surprise.
She’d assumed that after her best friend’s comment, he must have figured out she didn’t actually have a boyfriend.
She had actually been feeling a little guilty about it.
She never expected him to think of it from a different angle.
He thought she was planning to break up with her boyfriend.
Seriously?!
Stephan looked at the girl’s dazed expression and thought he’d guessed right.
He slowly leaned in toward her, his hot breath brazenly brushing against her delicate cheek. “So...who are you planning to replace him with?”
Alana’s eyelashes fluttered, and she bit her lip. She didn’t know how to respond.
Stephan extended his long, slender fingers and gently cupped her delicate chin, lifting her face.
He took in the two faint blushes gradually spreading across her cheeks.
“At the very least...you’d find a man who’s good in every way, won’t you? Especially one who can satisfy you in bed.”
His gaze was intense, as if he were brazenly carving the words “I am the only man who can fully satisfy you in bed” right onto his forehead.
If Alana couldn’t read such a blunt and explicit hint, she’d be an absolute fool.
Her cheeks flushed bright red, and she pushed him away slightly, feeling utterly ashamed. “You...you shouldn’t do this...”
Stephan pressed his forehead against hers, his deep voice carrying an irresistible air of dominance.
“If you want to switch, switch right now. There are more suitable options around you.”
As for who was more suitable, it went without saying.
Alana gazed at him with eyes that were slightly moist and filled with tension. She looked just like a flustered, helpless little rabbit.
Irresistibly tempting.
Stephan couldn’t resist kissing her, his thin lips gently tracing the outline of her beautiful mouth.
His voice was low and hoarse, laced with a hint of temptation. “Be a good girl. Dump that man. He’s not right for you.”
Alana blushed.
Their posture was far too intimate; she didn’t want to respond to his words.
But Stephan wasn’t about to let her off that easily; he opened his mouth and bit down on her soft, delicate lips.
His voice was deep and commanding.
“Answer me.”
Alana was at her wit’s end under his relentless pursuit. She tried to step back, but her slender waist was firmly held captive by his strong, powerful arms.
She couldn’t move an inch.
She couldn’t move forward either.
Finally, with no other choice, Alana relented. “You... you should let me think it over...”
Hmm, at the very least, he had to let her think it over properly, whether they were both suited to be together.
A faint glint shone in Stephan’s dark eyes.
Does this mean she had agreed to be with him, that she was willing to break up with her boyfriend?
After all that persistence, he’d finally managed to soften this stubborn mule.
All that effort he’d put into playing the suave seducer in front of her hadn’t been in vain.
Though he was thrilled inside, on the surface he remained perfectly calm, acting as if it were no big deal.
