Chapter 577: Crossover Logs, Log 3: Artemisia ???

Crossover Log: Artemisia.

Well, this is the third one so I should change the intro now, shouldn’t I?

Alright, we’re calling this ’Log Entry: Observations on Artemisia (from Arthur’s Perspective)’

Artemisia...What was her last name again? Hold on a sec, let me appraise her.

...

Delgasso! That’s right, ’Artemisia Delgasso’.

The daughter of god King Delgasso, who’s called the Benevolent god King for some reason I couldn’t be bothered to care about.

How did she end up on Aramis? She followed her best friend who was crazy enough to fall for a High Rank Demon and chase him across worlds. She’s pretty much Beatrix’s caretaker.

Not gonna lie, I didn’t see her as much of a threat at first. I mean, I’m stronger than her in more ways than one.

However, her threat level increased after discovering she’s a god King’s daughter.

The girl is mostly calm, expressionless, almost too relaxed for someone of her stature. I guess most of the sons and daughters of Race Rulers I’ve encountered aren’t the kind to flaunt their strength or status.

She comes from Prime World Aidos—or at least, that’s what I thought until I heard her actual homeworld got destroyed.

Yikes, that’s pretty...dark?

A star going giant mode randomly and then turning into a black hole. Never heard of that before.

Well, her father did have backups so I guess it’s all good. He affiliated himself with Aidos, and despite his power, he keeps a neutral stance in most Intergalactic conflicts that don’t concern Aidos directly, or so they say.

His neutrality doesn’t mean he’s weak, though. In fact, he’s also a ’Supreme’ Race King, rivalling a Demon King like McEnda II in power and Universal influence.

With that kind of impeccable background and a god King as a father, Artemisia is destined for greatness.

But on the war-torn Aramis, she seems content to let the world move around her. In this chaotic world of demons and gods fighting for dominance, she blends in more than you’d expect.

Her relaxed attitude might fool some into thinking she’s detached or disinterested, but I see it differently. It’s as if she’s constantly evaluating everything around her with an unflinching eye, yet she never shows the strain.

Her control over her emotions, while not perfect, is pretty good for someone her age.

Let’s ignore me acting like we aren’t the same age and talk about how she manages to keep her face impassive 90% of the time, not showing fear, frustration or joy. She’s learned the art of not showing her cards.

Besides my little pastime of making her break her composure, she does have her moments when she naturally lets things slip, mostly when Beatrix is around.

Speaking of Beatrix, that one is a more expressive and livelier counterpart to Artemisia’s stoic demeanour. Together, they balance each other out—Beatrix the fire, and Artemisia the calm.

Their friendship has pretty deep roots owing to their shared history. Perhaps it’s because they’ve known each other for so long, or perhaps it’s because Beatrix draws something out of her that no one else can.

Then there’s her connection to Jamie, stemming from the fact that her father...hold on, lemme ask Jamie what her father’s name is.

...

Ah yes, Uvton Delgasso. Weird name but anyway, Artemisia has connections to Jamie since her father and the Hybrid are close. She treats him, rather casually from what I’ve seen.

Knowing Jamie’s devil-may-care attitude, I expected she wouldn’t find him particularly easy to deal with. I thought her stoic nature would probably keep her from showing any annoyance, but it wouldn’t surprise me if she found Jamie’s carefree approach to life exasperating at times.

But the reality is different, they’re fairly amicable with each other.

In terms of relationships with others, Alvey appears to see her as just another goddess among goddesses. There’s a certain disconnect in the way the man treats her.

Strangely, McEnda III seems wary of her; maybe due to her father being a Supreme god King, I guess? Being a Supreme Demon King’s son, he understands the kind of weight she carries, and that makes him cautious.

There’s no real animosity between them, but there’s also no deep camaraderie. It’s more like they recognize each other’s weight in the grand scheme of things and choose to leave it at that.

As for Evan, he’s close to Artemisia—though in the future, 10,000 years from now. He’s fairly close to this younger teenage version of her, but the boy often overlays her future self and gets a bit surprised when he sees her act in ways he’s clearly not used to.

Like with Jamie, given Artemisia’s quiet reserve contrasts with Evan’s playful nature, I assumed their interactions would be... interesting, to say the least. Evan’s lack of seriousness would probably grate on her, though she’d never admit it openly.

But alas, my imagination seems to have bugs when it comes to Artemisia. And I’m the one who’s the Singularity here.

When it comes to power, Artemisia is, without a doubt, formidable for her level.

She’s a nonstandard so that much is a given. Don’t tell anyone I said this, but Artemisia isn’t a ’High-goddess’ like she makes herself out to be.

Her status may show that, but her concealment cannot deceive the eyes of a Progenitor. Due to her superior race breed, she’s even stronger than the average nonstandard...if that’s even a thing.

Her skills and abilities are centred around elemental manipulation, with a focus on Lightning due to her Unique Skill; Benevolent Lightning.

Looks like the ’Benevolence’ got passed down in the blood.

But besides that, the thing about her that intrigues me the most is her ability to Manipulate Evolution.

Her Unique Skill is called Queen of Evolution, and the potential that skill has is limitless. It’s all up to how much of its power she can harness.

She can alter or accelerate growth, change, or adaptation in her surroundings. If fully unleashed, I’m sure this ability could reshape entire battlefields.

Imagine having all your opponents drop in power while your allies increase in Existence Realm.

Kinda like my Progenitor Authority.

Looking ahead, I see Artemisia as a key piece in the upcoming Nexus Event, like Jamie, Evan and the others.

I mean, I wouldn’t have this Log if she wasn’t one. Whether she likes it or not, her presence here on Aramis has already started to shift the threads of fate.

I guess her calm demeanour would be tested as the stakes grow higher and the storm of a Nexus Event arrives with her right in the middle of it.

If it wasn’t for the fact that I’m also involved in this event, then I’d like to take a step back and watch how she deals with the happenings of the event...with popcorn, of course.
