Chapter 548: Gravity joins the club [Monthly Bonus 3]
Jamie placed a hand on his chin and pondered about how to explain things easily without using words from his Superior Gravity comprehension that’d leave Arthur confused.
"The gravity law energy needs to reach a certain level of stability for the core to awaken, but the Anti-Divinity is disrupting it so you need to find a balance where they can coexist—that way, your mutated Pseudo-Origin core can draw its power without issue."
"That’s easier said than done..."
Arthur understood Jamie’s words, and he also understood how difficult this ’simple’ process might be.
’In the first place, how do I interact with a dormant core? My cores always awaken immediately so I’ve never had to deal with this.
In what part of my soul would I even need to-?!’
Arthur’s eyes widened in shock when his thoughts reached that direction. He remembered the scene he saw when he had cast the ’Third Magic’ years ago and immediately, he knew what to do.
’If I’m right, this would really be simple.’
The boy closed his eyes and suddenly, the ambient law concentration in the room changed.
Cosmic energy began surging in at an alarming rate, dragging with it, magic power, ether, and even demonic energy which Arthur could not use.
Evan, who had headed over to the arcade consoles and was trying to beat Jamie’s records turned around in alarm when he sensed the magic power surge, while Jamie simply laughed as he realised what Arthur had done.
’This kid just used a method that’s a hundred times harder than what I wanted to suggest! And he did it so easily.’
When Arthur closed his eyes, he turned his consciousness inward, diving deep into the depths of his soul, into a place one could term as a ’Soul Realm’.
The World around him faded, replaced by a vast, starry expanse that resembled the Universe itself.
It was a place of cosmic wonder, a reflection of his inner self, where each star represented a fragment of his existence.
At the centre, was his Soul Core; a silvery grey pulsating sphere perched on a pedestal that seemed to rise from the very fabric of space itself.
Surrounding the core was a dense, swirling cloud of silver magic power, resembling an accretion disk around a newborn star.
The energy circled the core in a continuous, powerful motion, pulling in magic power from the surrounding space like a cosmic whirlpool. The core itself glowed with a muted light, radiating energy that permeated his entire soul.
It was the same scene he had seen when he cast the ’Third Magic’, but that time, he was only here for a few seconds.
Just like then, he saw the rune sigil of the ’Third Magic’ inscribed on the surface of his Soul Core, showing just how deep that spell had gone to affect his existence.
Arthur’s gaze shifted, and he saw multiple other pedestals surrounding his Soul Core in a loose ring, each one empty, as though waiting for something to be placed atop them.
’I wonder what they are for...’
Arthur held out his astral body’s hand and counted 12 of them. Whether this number held any significance or was just a random coincidence was something Arthur would only discover later down in life.
Well, with his ridiculous growth speed, he could find out in a few years or decades.
Anyways, between his Soul Core and the ring of pedestals, several smaller masses of energy orbited like planets around a sun.
These were his Pseudo-Origin cores, each one a manifestation of the laws he had begun to comprehend.
They glowed with the colours and energies unique to each law: one with the crimson of destruction, another with the azure hue of time.
Further out, smaller masses of condensed law energy orbited as well, each one a representation of his fledgling comprehensions of other laws. The higher his comprehension, the larger and more radiant the ’planet’ of energy.
’The ’Spatial Planet’ is pretty big. Extinction is about half its size, and the others are less than half of Extinction’s size.’
He quickly analysed them, before turning his focus to one particular ’planet,’ a mass of dense, swirling dark energy that loomed large in his Soul Realm.
Unlike the others, this one did not glow with the vibrant energy of the laws. Instead, it was shrouded in shadow, tangled with threads of anti-divinity both within and around it.
This was his without a doubt, his dormant Pseudo-Origin Core of Gravity, awaiting its awakening.
Arthur took a deep breath...if he could even breathe in his astral form and approached the dark ’planet’.
He recalled Jamie’s words about ’finding a balance’ and he reached out, touching the dark ’planet’ and feeling the roiling energy within.
Slowly, carefully, he began to manipulate the threads of Anti-Divinity, unravelling them from the core. It was like untangling a knot of darkness, each thread pulled away revealing more of the gravity law energy beneath.
He didn’t know how long he spent; if it was only a few seconds or many hours, but the core began stabilizing. Even though he untangled the Anti-Divinity threads, the Pseudo-Origin Core did not give up on his Anti-Divinity and instead absorbed it, properly this time.
With this, the mutation process was completed.
Then, without warning, a surge of power erupted from the core.
The newly stabilized energy flooded his Soul Realm, a torrent of law energy and magic power that overwhelmed him. The force of it was too much, and his consciousness was forcibly expelled from his Soul Realm, thrust back into the reality of his physical body.
Arthur gasped as he opened his eyes, feeling the rush of ambient magic power drawn into him. His body trembled with the influx of energy, his Soul expanding within him as it absorbed the new power.
The sensation was overwhelming, a mix of pain and exhilaration, as if every fibre of his being was being stretched to its limit.
But amidst these conflicting sensations, he could feel it—his Pseudo-Origin Core had awakened, its power now fully his to command.
His energy core capacity in his physical body had increased just like he expected, and he now had more ’space’ to fill in more energy so he could complete the goal of quintupling his energy reserves to reach his Transcendent threshold.
"40? 45...? Somewhere in between..."
He muttered listlessly as he tried to gauge how much of the path towards Transcendence he had traversed.
"43%, I guess?"
It was an odd number, but it was definitely higher than his previous 20%. What’s more, this Pseudo-Authority had expanded his energy core enough that he had space for up to around 65% of the process.
He just needed to get the energy to fill up that space.
"If I level up, I’d increase that 65..."
After saying this, he took a deep breath and then looked up, his eyes widening as he saw that the room...was upside down.
"Seems like you’re okay now. So, can you return the gravity to normal?"
Jamie spoke while seated on the upside-down couch and Arthur chuckled before tapping into the power of his new Pseudo-Authority.
The gravity of the room inverted returning to normal, but this time, the speed had been increased so he had to halt time to prevent the things from being squashed on the floor.
After a bit of fine-tuning, he synced the gravity in the room with the planet’s gravity and resumed the flow of time, allowing everything to fall back normally.
"Damn, this thing is a bit hard to control."
"You just got it; control would be an issue for a while. But you can use your upcoming adventurers to perfect that."
Jamie spoke in response, referring to the three High-Level worlds he was supposed to go to later and Arthur nodded before opening his status board.

"Huh? Since when did I get Tier 6 Time magic?"
Arthur’s eyes widened in surprise at the sight of the two Tier 6 elements on his Magic attribute section, however, Jamie wasn’t surprised to hear this.
"Law Comprehensions are intertwined.
Space, Time, Gravity...these three things are closely related in the fabric of existence, as such, comprehending one can give you boosts in the other."
Jamie’s words reminded Arthur of the method of law comprehension Lucifer taught him that involved pushing the laws against each other and creating a reaction that caused them to rush towards his energy core at a faster rate.
"Makes sense..."
He had just rationalised this occurrence when Jamie dropped another one on him.
"Oh my...what an unexpected occurrence. You got an Ultimate Seed."
"A WHAT?!"
The loud exclamation came from Evan who was at the arcade console some metres away. The boy ignored the ’GAME OVER’ blinking on the screen and moved over as he appraised Arthur, trying to find proof of Jamie’s words.
However, he was unable to detect with his Full Appraisal, what Jamie needed his Authority to detect.
Arthur turned his consciousness inward once more, and deep within his Pseudo-Origin Core ’planet’, he sensed a small, luminous seed at its centre—a seed that seemed to pulse with a gravity of its own.
’The heck? It’s like a planet having two different gravitational forces. That makes no sense.’
Just then, the System of the Universe displayed a pair of notifications in his field of view.
