Chapter 485: Blood-Soaked Ocean
Arthur’s intent was simply to break Crarox’s bounded field and escape the relentless bombardment.
As such, he quickly deactivated his Bounded Field right after he achieved that goal.
Crarox, who just had his bounded field broken had to deal with the rebound damage from this and Arthur took advantage of this chance to leave the ocean...along with Crarox.
He charged towards the Leviathan and the creature responded with a tail swipe, unaware that this was precisely what Arthur wanted.
Arthur dodged the forked tail’s swipe, before latching onto it with his whole body, almost like how Koalas latched onto trees.
’Strength Enhancement!’
He tightened his grip, his fingers piercing through Crarox’s scales to anchor his grip. He even used Gravitemporal Harmony to enhance his stability and thwart Crarox’s attempts to fling him off.
As his muscles bulged up, summoned the power of his gravity comprehensions and created a powerful gravitational upforce.
The gravitational upforce surged from Arthur like an invisible tidal wave, latching onto both him and Crarox with an unrelenting grip. The Leviathan’s massive body struggled against the unexpected force, even trying to reverse it with his own control over gravity, but this was a law where Arthur surpassed him in control so his attempts were futile.
The ocean below churned violently as if protesting against the sudden reversal of nature’s order. With an immense force, the gravity upforce lurched both Arthur and the colossal Leviathan out of the ocean, sending them hurtling skyward.
As the ocean parted in a chaotic spray, shimmering droplets scattered like diamonds in the sunlight created one hell of a picturesque scene for the Demon Armada in the distance.
It wasn’t every day they saw a two-kilometre-long leviathan being lurched into the air.
Crarox’s massive form twisted and writhed, his serpentine body thrashing against the gravitational pull that defied nature.
He saw this was futile and changed his approach quickly, using his Pseudo-Authority to manipulate the shimmering droplets in the air and condense them, before launching them towards Arthur as projectiles.
The tiny pressurized drops of water pierced through Arthur’s multilayer defensive barrier, pelting his skin with holes and causing small drops of blood to spill.
’Time to let go!’
With that thought, Arthur changed the direction of the Gravitational force that was acting on them and used it to fling the Leviathan’s body down back towards the ocean.
He extended both hands and stopped time around him, halting all the water bullets Crarox fired, before summoning his swords.
With Celestia in his right hand and Lostvayne in his left, he swung them down and released a cross shaped Extinction Slash!
The two lines of silver light split the air and reached the Leviathan almost instantly, splitting apart his scales and drawing blood.
He then let go of Lostvayne and held up Celestia, infusing destruction energy into it as he swung it down and released a more powerful variation of the Extinction Slash technique, born from the synergy with ’Mountain Split’.
"Cataclysmic Divide."
This fusion technique manifested as a massive silver arc moving at Sub-Relativistic speed, distorting the space around it. The Initial impact hit Crarox with the force to split a mountain in two.
On its own, it wasn’t enough to bypass his durability as Sovereigns were existences who could tank a few mountains collapsing on them.
However, when mixed in with Extinction Slash’s power to obliterate the atoms and molecules that compose the struck portion, making them ’extinct’, it becomes an entirely different story.
The synergy between the two creates a small rift that pulls in matter and energy, amplifying the devastation of the ’Mountain Split’ part of it.
The end result? Arthur carved out a portion of Crarox’s lower body, nearly tearing through the Leviathan’s spine.
Crarox slammed back into the ocean, causing giant waves mixed with his blood to surge upwards in all directions.
The energy within his blood churned and the waves seemed to gain a will of their own, surging and transforming into pressurized torrents that swirled towards Arthur at supersonic speed.
Just when Arthur was about to begin dodging the torrents, his body was suddenly pulled forward, forcing him to slam right into one of the pressurized torrents.
Midway, another force began acting on him from a different direction, pulling him into another torrent, then another, and another.
Just as he was being pulled towards the fifth torrent, Crarox’s tail slashed down from above, colliding with him and sending his body crashing towards the ocean.
’Gravitational Maelstrom!’
Crarox activated a skill, causing shipwrecks and other objects at the bottom of the ocean to be pulled towards a central point—Arthur—with the intention of crushing him in a devastating collision.
’Prism Pulse! Radiant Tides!’
Prism pulse manipulated light to refract and amplify a barrage of light beams, creating razor-sharp shards that he hurled at Arthur, while Radiant Tides released a series of blinding, high-pressure water jets which curved to hit Arthur from behind.
Crarox was sure his attacks would strike true and was already preparing for his follow-up breath when Arthur’s faux True Voice reached his ears.
|¬Pseudo-Authority of Destruction: Annihilation Sphere. ¬|
The rapidly expanding sphere of crimson-silver energy around Arthur turned all the debris Crarox hurled at him to dust and destroyed his prism pulse and the high-pressure water jets all in one go.
He broke the gravitational attraction Crarox had placed on him before holding his sword forward releasing a follow-up.
|¬Destruction Nova¬|
Silver energy circuits flared to life on Arthur’s hand as he combined the power of his Null with destruction energy, condensing it into a concentrated focal point at the tip of his sword. With a swift release, the energy erupted outward in a nova-like explosion, unleashing devastating force in all directions.
Crarox swiftly submerged to evade the attack, resurfacing directly beneath Arthur and lunging with his jaws agape. Arthur dodged the bite and swung Celestia, meeting Crarox’s gravity-coated horn in a clash that sent sparks flying.
Arthur leapt over Crarox’s head, anchoring himself with Gravitemporal Harmony before stabbing downwards with his sword. In the split second before his blade pierced the Leviathan’s scales, Crarox’s forked tail, crackling with lightning, flashed in and slammed into Arthur’s side, knocking him off the Leviathan’s back.
’...did he just use lightning?’
Arthur’s body went numb as sea-green sparks snaked around his limbs, paralyzing him. Though curious about Crarox’s unexpected elemental affinity, he had no time to ponder as a massive wave surged toward him.
The wave mixed with residual lightning, attempting to amplify the paralysis, but failed as Arthur had already forced the lightning from his body and regained mobility.
’Gravity Shield.’
Dense gravitational energy swirled around Arthur to form a sphere that surrounded him, warping space and making it difficult for physical and magical attacks to penetrate.
Turning his focus to the approaching wave, he saw Crarox’s head burst through, maw wide open, a mass of sea green energy swirling within.
’Unique Skill: Luminous Aqua Cascade. + Pseudo-Authority of Water: Aqua Breath!’
Crarox’s Unique skill summoned torrents of luminescent water, infused with radiant light energy, creating a cascading waterfall of brilliance. As the shimmering waters descended, they refracted and amplified the surrounding light, bathing the area in a dazzling spectacle.
The Leviathan seamlessly integrated this skill with his Aqua Breath, channelling the Universal Law of Water into a concentrated attack. The result was a beam of sea-green energy, pulsating with both radiant light and the primal power of water.
As the beam surged forth, it grew in intensity, crashing into Arthur’s Gravity Sheild with unrelenting power and tearing it apart.
"?!"
In that instant, Arthur felt the Stellar Guard activate, showing that the combination of Crarox’s light law energy, backed up with his Pseudo-Authority, held the potential to kill him if it hit!
The sheer force of the combined attack sent shockwaves through the ocean, while Arthur was sent hurtling through the air for dozens of kilometres, his trajectory directed straight towards land and the nearest naval outpost on Plomux.
Despite its modest size, the outpost was well-equipped with divinity barriers and watchtowers.
However, Arthur’s Gravitemporal Harmony skill which worked with anti-divinity energy, rendered these defences futile as his body crashed through them with unstoppable force.
With a sensation akin to falling through glass, Arthur tore through the barrier, then smashed through the watchtower, causing it to collapse onto a docked ship, capsizing it in the harbour.
Amidst the chaos, Arthur ploughed through multiple administrative buildings before finally colliding with a sturdy reinforced wall, bringing his momentum to a sudden halt.
The impact left a human-sized imprint on the wall, a testament to the sheer force of his collision.
"Darn, I really got sent flying far..."
Arthur muttered as he dropped to the ground, surveying the fires he had inadvertently ignited upon crashing into some buildings with gas cylinders.
Utilizing his Time Healing, he tended to his wounds before turning his attention to the now-fragile wall before him.
With a powerful punch, he shattered the wall, revealing a group of Aramisian naval soldiers on the other side.
There was an awkward silence as both parties stared at each other, with Arthur finally breaking eye contact and looking around the hall he had broken into.
’Now I see why it was so sturdy...’
It was sturdy enough to break Arthur’s ridiculous momentum because it was a Storage Facility.
A Weapon Storage Facility.
Not where they kept their swords and spears, but where they kept their Spare Energy Cannons, Bombs and Torpedoes—that kind of Storage Facility.
All the Aramisians present instinctively sensed Arthur’s power and they knew they would not win if it came down to a fight.
What’s more, they didn’t want to fight anywhere near a Torpedo storage!
Arthur, however, had other ideas.
He silently raised his hand and conjured a small flame of crimson-silver energy. Seeing this, the face of the Level 700 Commander present paled as he sensed the destruction energy.
Arthur could see him begging with his eyes, but the boy shook his head and spoke.
"Good luck in your next life."
Faster than the man could react, Arthur fired the flame as a projectile and it pierced into one of the Torpedoes which they were moving.
Naturally, it went ’BOOM’.
