Chapter 484: Submerged Temple [Random Bonus]
Just as the Crarox took a moment to cool his overheated energy circuits, a searing jolt of pain shot up his spine and straight to his brain, causing his vision to momentarily blank out.
With a bewildered shake of his head, he refocused his gaze only to find the figure of Arthur, the same Progenitor he had just blasted with this Aqua Breath, standing on his lower back and piercing a jet-black blade into his body.
His gravity barrier and his hard scales didn’t seem to exist as the sword bypassed them all and dug deep into his flesh underneath.
"Surprise Motherfucker!"
Arthur shouted out as he dashed forward, dragging Lostvayne which was stabbed into Crarox along his back and carving a trail of blood across the Leviathan’s body in his wake.
[GRAOAAAAAHHH!!!!!!!]
A primal roar of agony erupted from the Leviathan’s throat as he grappled with the excruciating pain of having his very soul assaulted by the Rule Breaker.
Crarox had never felt anything like this before.
Desperate to halt Arthur’s onslaught, Crarox summoned his magic power, readying himself to unleash a devastating counterattack, regardless of whether he would hit himself in the process.
That didn’t matter though. He had self-power immunity, after all.
He made his decision and instantly executed it to stop Arthur who was at large. Condensing magic power in his maw, he unleashed a powerful Aqua Breath, the torrent of pressurized water forcing Arthur to teleport away in a bid to evade.
The Progenitor reappeared in the air right beside Crarox’s massive head, his sword, Lostvayne, gleamed with an ominous radiance as he held it overhead.
"Island Split!"
As the second of the Split Series, the sheer quantity of the destructive energy was leagues above the first, and so was the sheer amount of damage it could deal.
The slash of destructive energy descended upon Crarox with the force of a cataclysmic storm, cleaving through the air and connecting with the Leviathan’s flesh in a deafening explosion that echoed across the ocean.
The impact was staggering. The side of Crarox’s face bore the brunt of the attack, and a gaping wound erupted like a crimson geyser, spewing blood into the water in a macabre display.
Scales disintegrated into dust, and flesh was torn asunder.
The wound inflicted by Arthur’s strike affected not only Crarox’s physical body but also his soul. It would leave Crarox scarred for life—assuming he survived this fight.
Arthur let go of Lostvayne and then clenched his fist, pulling it back as gravitational law energy surged into his body.
So much energy was gathered that it distorted the fabric of spacetime around him, but Arthur wasn’t done yet.
’Strength Enhancement.
Body Strengthening Magic.
Physical Reinforcement. Greater Physical Reinforcement.’
With his support skills and magic spells in place, Arthur proceeded to punch the side of the wounded Crarox’s head.
**BAAAAMMM!!!!!
The sound barrier shattered as the Leviathan’s colossal form was launched skyward by the force of Arthur’s SUPER Weighted Impact Punch.
As the massive creature began its parabolic descent towards the ocean, Arthur appeared before it, delivering another powerful punch that sent the Leviathan hurtling through the air for miles.
Each of Arthur’s full-power punches propelled the Leviathan vast distances, aimed towards the Plomux Continent.
His goal was to get the Leviathan out of the water and use his battle with the Leviathan to create chaos on Plomux.
He sent out two more punches to the Leviathan’s head and lower jaw that kept lurching the colossal creature’s body, ignoring the strain on his arm which was holding far more power than it was meant to.
The boy simply left his regeneration to deal with it as he proceeded to activate a technique, whilst gathering as much gravity law energy as he could in an instant.
’Earth Shaking Fist!’
Then, he delivered the final punch of the five-hit combo, right into the midpoint of the Leviathan’s serpentine body.
For a fraction of a second, a miniature singularity bloomed at the point of impact, and it consumed a chunk of the Leviathan’s flesh, bones, and blood.
Arthur’s body was drenched in blood as he saw the portion of the leviathan’s side simply ’disappear’.
It went without saying that the force of this final punch was greater than the previous four, and the distance Crarox was sent flying was almost double!
After delivering this final hit, Arthur halted his movements and remained still in the air, expelling all the excess energy he had gathered in his body.
If he added any more, his energy circuits would have ruptured and that was bad news so he stopped just short of his limit.
It was more than enough to send a 2-kilometre-long creature flying over two dozen kilometres though.
He hadn’t even finished thinking this when a dark shadow was suddenly cast on the ocean surface before him.
Turning around, he saw a giant serpentine dragon of water and light descending from the heavens with its mouth wide open.
’Doesn’t this guy know I can just teleport away?’
Arthur acted on those thoughts, casting a simple teleportation spell to escape the trajectory of the incoming attack, however, he quickly realised that may have been a mistake.
’Fuck...he bent space around me...’
If Arthur had used a more powerful spell, along with law energy, he could have overpowered the space bending and teleported normally, but because he had used a simple spell, all he had just done was move through the fabric of the bent space.
The space was bent in such a way that it curved spatial channels in a full circle, as such, Arthur’s spell that moved through the fabric of space, simply returned him to the same position he wanted to leave.
Naturally, this meant that the serpentine water dragon, imbued with immense power and speed, collided with Arthur, its jaws closing around him with crushing force.
The impact sent shockwaves through his body, and the overwhelming momentum smashed him deep into the ocean below. The cold, dark water swallowed him whole as he plunged deeper and deeper into the abyss.
Within the inky depths of the ocean, Arthur struggled to regain his bearings. The pressure of the water was immense, pressing against him from all sides.
Arthur quickly put his Dive skill to use, allowing him to adjust to the murky surroundings.
’I’m not crazy enough to fight a Leviathan underwater so I gotta get out of here.’
It was barely a second after he had that thought that he noticed two glowing green eyes glaring at him through the darkness, right before the water around him began to swirl, the currents rapidly intensifying.
Crarox’ Pseudo-Authority was at work, and an underwater tornado started to form. The Swirling water created a vortex of immense power, attempting to drag Arthur to its centre with its relentless currents.
However, Arthur used the power of gravity to fight against the currents and seeing this, the Leviathan roared and activated a technique.
’Illuminated Whirlpool!’
The vortex of water surrounding Arthur suddenly began overflowing with dazzling light that momentarily disoriented him. This was just the prelude as in the next moment, he was bombarded by waves of radiant energy, carrying enough pressure to crush his bones.
As if that wasn’t enough, the Leviathan proceeded to pull out the big guns.
[Bounded Field: Submerged Temple!]
In an instant, the surrounding ocean transformed. The dark, swirling water gave way to the eerie serenity of an ancient underwater temple.
The scene morphed into a grand, circular structure with twenty towering pillars encircling Arthur. Each pillar was carved from coral and stone, and weathered by countless years under the sea. At the top of each pillar was the intricately detailed head of a dragon, its eyes glinting with an ominous light.
At the base of each pillar, mechanical contraptions resembling harpoon shooters were mounted, their deadly projectiles aimed squarely at Arthur. The harpoon shooters gleamed with a sinister green light, primed to launch their lethal payload at any moment.
The water here felt thicker, no doubt charged with the power of Crarox’s Pseudo-Authority to amplify his power.
At Crarox’s command, the dragon-headed pillars roared to life, each one unleashing spear-shaped torrents of pressurized water. Simultaneously, the harpoon shooters at the base of each pillar launched their deadly projectiles.
Arthur’s eyes narrowed, his mind racing to counter the onslaught. Barely a second later, he made a decision and activated a technique.
|¬Pseudo-Authority of Destruction: Annihilation Sphere! ¬|
In an instant, a sphere of dense, crackling crimson energy enveloped him, pulsating with raw, destructive force.
As the first of the spear-shaped torrents of water reached the sphere, they were met with instant obliteration. The pressurized water, once a formidable weapon, disintegrated upon contact with the destructive energy, vaporizing into nothingness. The remaining torrents followed suit, each one reduced to a fine mist the moment it collided with the Annihilation Sphere.
The harpoons, with their gleaming metallic tips, fared no better. As they hurtled towards Arthur, they entered the sphere’s radius only to be met with utter annihilation. The destructive energy surged, turning the harpoons to dust in mere milliseconds.
Faster than Crarox could send another wave of attacks, Arthur slammed his palms together, releasing a massive surge of his silver magic power.
|¬Bounded field: Hall of Fractured Time! ¬|
From Arthur’s body, a powerful wave of energy erupted, radiating outward with unstoppable force.
The energy surged through the water, colliding with the boundaries of Crarox’s ’Submerged Temple’. The ancient pillars and dragon heads began to crack and splinter, unable to withstand the overwhelming power.
[?!]
The shimmering mystic boundary line emerged, carving through the water and delineating the confines of Arthur’s technique with an ethereal barrier of energy. From this barrier, a colossal dome of energy materialized, pulsating with a radiant, silvery light. The dome expanded rapidly, its size growing exponentially as it sought to encompass the entire area.
As the dome grew, it shattered the remnants of the ’Submerged Temple’, crumbling the pillars and harpoon shooters into dust, and sweeping them away by the sheer force of Arthur’s bounded field.
Despite the dome’s colossal expansion, it could not fully encompass Crarox’s massive body. The Leviathan’s serpentine form stretched beyond the boundaries of the dome, his size far exceeding the confines of Arthur’s bounded field.
However, capturing Crarox’s full body was never Arthur’s goal.
