Chapter 481: Legacy of Yedrist
"Vortex!"
A spiralling mass of crimson-gold ice surged from Evan’s sword, swirling through the air to collide with the devastating beam of water power released by the Leviathan.
The clash of the immense powers distorted the very air at the point of impact and sent shockwaves rippling through the ocean.
Evan’s ice vortex overwhelmed the Leviathan’s breath, freezing the torrent of water all the way to its mouth.
He poured even more energy into his attack, unleashing a final surge that blasted the Leviathan’s head backwards.
"Haha! It worked!"
Evan exclaimed, celebrating his apparent victory in the clash of powers.
However, his joy was short-lived.
The Leviathan’s head snapped back in his direction, its sea-green eyes glowing and a noticeable lack of damage on its body.
In other words, Evan’s Unique Skill attack had done zero damage.
The Leviathan narrowed its gaze at the boy, and seeing this, Arthur confirmed a conjecture he had the moment the Leviathan appeared.
’Pseudo-Authority...I’m sure of it now. It was wounded a bit by Evan’s Destruction Essence but the wounds healed in a second.’
Just as Arthur thought this, the Leviathan’s mouth opened once more and it wasn’t hard to guess what was about to happen.
This time, however, the power condensing in its maw was over ten times as much as before.
"Um...I think I may have made it pissed."
"You think?!"
Arthur couldn’t help but retort to Evan’s words, but the Leviathan wasn’t gonna wait around and watch them.
The first attack was sent out to test the waters and find out if Arthur had any special powers, but Evan who had blocked it had revealed he possessed Destruction Energy as well.
Evan was an Epic, the Leviathan was a Sovereign, and Evan’s destruction Essence was strong enough that he had been able to ignore the Sovereign’s durability and deal a little bit of damage to it.
And yet, the Leviathan could sense the same Destruction power from Arthur, just that it was over a hundred times more potent.
So now it acted in earnest, using enough power to blast the ship and more than half its occupants to smithereens.
Water sprayed out with ultra-high pressure became a weapon in itself, and it was sharper than any sword.
Depending on their existence, one could generate enough pressure to crush a mountain to pieces.
**CHUT―――!!!
The Leviathan unleashed a torrent of sea-green energy from its mouth, and Arthur responded with a simple clap.
|¬Alright everyone, Stand Still. ¬|
A domain of black and white expanded outwards with Arthur as the centre, with the time flow of everything within a kilometre radius of his position being halted.
Only the gravity well at the centre, trying to draw the ships in, continued to exert its pull, though its range was significantly reduced due to Arthur’s gravity law energy.
The Water wasn’t whirling around though.
The sea monsters climbing the ships to attack the demons halted, the demons in mid-battle froze, and even the scouts attempting to set up a concealment formation and those on the bridge trying to send SOS messages—which had their radio signals disrupted by the Leviathan’s gravity energy—were all suspended in time.
Everything ceased except Arthur.
"Celestia."
The Sword appeared on his command and he raised it high, before bringing it down with a powerful slash of destructive energy.
"Mountain Split."
And then, time resumed its flow.
The Mountain Split slash cleaved through the Leviathan’s pressurized water breath, the destructive energy slicing through the solid line of sea-green water law energy as if it were nothing.
The slash reached the Leviathan faster than it could react, striking with immense force and knocking its head backwards. Blood spurted into the air as Arthur’s attack shattered the Leviathan’s tough scales, leaving a deep gash.
[what?!]
[Lord Crarox!!]
Seeing their lord injured, the other sea monsters cried out in distress. Their roars echoed across the ocean, a cacophony of worry and fear for the mighty Leviathan that now bled into the waters.
"Crarox? So, it’s actually not the Yedrist guy."
Arthur murmured under his breath as he watched the giant Leviathan fall back into the ocean and crash into the waves.
The Gravity Well at the centre of the fleet had also been broken due to the Leviathan’s loss of focus and the Demons took the chance to stabilize their ships and use their weapons to fire at the sea monsters.
Some of the Legendary Realm monsters roared and charged towards Arthur, however, before they could even get close, a platoon of Level 700 Demons dashed in and blocked the monsters, preventing them from reaching the Progenitor.
"General Vaughn! We’d set up the concealment formation! Please help us!"
One of the Naval Captains called out to Arthur and the boy shrugged nonchalantly before turning to Evan who had just beheaded a Fishman.
"Have you used your ’Full Appraisal’ skill on this thing? I wanna know if there’s anything I missed."
"Yeah, here’s the result."

"The fuck?! He’s got a Pseudo-Authority!"
Although he had appraised Crarox, Evan didn’t seem to have gone through the Leviathan’s skills, hence why he was surprised to see the Pseudo-Authority.
The elemental law of the Pseudo-Authority made Arthur frown. He recalled how Crarox had easily healed from Evan’s attack and quickly concluded that having the Leviathan stay in water was going to draw this fight out unnecessarily.
’That’s obvious though...’
After concluding that there wasn’t anything he missed, he raised his head and spoke to Evan who was muttering something about how he’d like to get that ’Gravitational Maelstrom’ skill.
"You wanted some subordinates to kill to level up, didn’t you?"
Gesturing to the thousands of sea monsters surrounding them, Arthur continued.
"Voila!"
"When I said ’some’, I meant a few hundred, not thousands!!"
Arthur laughed at Evan’s reaction, before reminding the boy that more enemies meant more levels for him.
"That is true. Alright then, I’d go butcher them up. We’re having fried fish for dinner!"
Evan pivoted to face the starboard side of the ship, where hundreds of monsters were clamouring, before assuming a running stance.
"Blessing of Destruction: First Activation."
Muttering under his breath, Evan kicked off the ground and dashed forward at supersonic speed, streaking through the air as a blur of crimson gold light.
Leaping into the air, Evan aimed a powerful kick at the head of a Fishman poised to skewer a fallen Demon with its harpoon.
His foot connected with such force that the creature’s head was torn from its neck. Shockwaves from the impact rippled omnidirectionally, further amplified by his Shockwave skill to send all the nearby sea monsters flying off the ship’s deck and crashing back into the ocean.
Still mid-air, Evan raised his hands to his chest and conjured a sphere of frigid energy.
"Harbinger of Ice: Glacial Annihilation."
The Ultimate Technique of his Unique Series Skill was released, harnessing the raw power of frozen elements to unleash cataclysmic waves of icy destruction upon everything before him.
He had to limit the power so he did not damage the ship behind him, but even then, its immense power was undeniable.
A blizzard erupted from the sphere, engulfing the surrounding area in swirling frost. Freezing winds howled through the air, carrying razor-sharp ice shards that tore through the sea monsters. The ferocious storm shredded their bodies to pieces, freezing them solid in mere moments.
[Level Up]
"Oh, seems I was already close to 606."
Evan remarked as he landed atop the frozen remains of one creature, opening his status board to look at his stat levels.
While he did this, more Sea Monsters charged at him, this particular group consisting of Sea Serpents like Crarox, except that they were on the smaller side of things.
Unlike Crarox who was hundreds of metres long, these ones were merely a dozen, and level-wise, Evan estimated them to all be below Level 600.
In other words, he could handle them easily.
The Sea Serpents roared and unleashed Aqua Breaths in his direction, however, instead of running, Evan activated his Elemental Shield Skill and set the element to water.
A spherical orb of water magic manifested around him, shimmering with protective energy.
The five Aqua Breaths slammed into the shield with immense force and the watery barrier absorbed the brunt of the attacks in a violent clash of elemental energies.
Evan stood firm within the shield, watching as the Aqua Breaths battered against it. However, the relentless assault proved too much. Cracks began to form in the shield, spiderwebbing outwards until it finally shattered.
’Well, I guess that’s the limit. If I want any more defence, I’d have to use the Gazebind Aegis or Stout Guardian.
Oh, let me deactivate Titanium body so I can gauge just how much durability I have on default...’
If the monsters knew that Evan was using them to test his new level of power, then they’d be absolutely livid.
For better or worse, they could not read his mind.
As the Elemental Shield shattered, one of the Aqua breaths broke through and Evan raised his hand to block.
However, the pressurized water beam struck with incredible force, knocking him off the frozen monster he was standing on. He was sent flying through the air, crashing into the hull of another ship.
The impact shook the vessel dangerously, nearly tipping it over.
"Whoa!"
Evan quickly dropped down, creating an icy platform beneath his feet the moment they touched the water. He released multiple golden chains from his palms, which he anchored onto the ship and pulled it back to balance.
"Phew...that was close."
