Chapter 480: “Oy, Alvey! Didn’t you say you killed this guy?!”

Scout Command Ship #24 Deck

Demon Navy Armada

Chatane Ocean

May 10thS

531st Divine Year

"Have you guys sent someone out to scout?"

[We sent out two who have Water Law comprehensions to scout and we found nothing.]

"Meaning we’re dealing with an intelligent threat.

I think the reason we didn’t notice the disappearances is due to the concealment formations. They probably used the concealment formations intending to take it out discretely, but ended up being taken out themselves."

Arthur replied to Alvey as he leaned back on his chair and raised his legs, crossing them atop the handrail of the ship’s deck.

He was just informed about the four missing fleets and he quickly arrived at the same conjecture as the other High Ranked Demons.

"Oh well, I’d keep an eye out. But don’t expect much, water’s not my best law."

He cut the connection after replying, before looking over the rail and into the vast ocean as he spoke.

"This is the kind of place Nicole would shine..."

For a moment, his mind wandered to his friends back in the Hell Universe and he began wondering how they were doing.

’It’s May already. I’d leave here in November...6 months left.’

He switched off the phone-like communicator and tossed it into his subspace when the sound of footsteps rang out in his ears.

"Wassup?"

"Alvey said we got hit on the West side. Four Fleets are down."

Hearing the news, Evan raised a brow in surprise before questioning further.

"Aramisians?"

"We don’t know yet."

"Damn...that makes it worse."

Evan pulled out a chair from his subspace and sat down not too far from Arthur, looking over the railing and at the ocean waves.

It was then that Arthur broke the short silence with his words.

"Whatever it is, it better have enough EXP to take me to the Superior Stage."

"Me too. Just that my ’Superior Stage’ is of the Epic Realm."

"If it can take me to the Superior Stage, it can definitely do the same for you. It’s just that you may not be able to fight it..."

Right now, Arthur was Level 768, and Evan was Level 605. Anything that could take Arthur above Level 770, was surely gonna be able to take Evan past Level 630.

However, such a creature would probably be around Level 700+, on the same level as Margaux whom Evan had fought over a month ago. Even if he had levelled up quite a bit since then, it still was not enough to defeat a Legendary.

"Then it better have some little subordinates I can kill to get to Level 630."

"That’s very possible. I find it hard to believe we’re up against 1 thing."

When Evan questioned why Arthur believed there was more than 1 potential opponent, the boy gestured to the ships around them as he explained.

"There are 20 Ships with multiple Legendries and a few Sovereigns on them.

The amount of power 1 entity needs to wipe all of this out in a short time is enough that the Transcendents back on the Triton’s Ark would surely sense something off before they attack.

That’s why I think it’s not just 1 entity, but a group of maybe Legendries and Sovereigns as well, with a Leader who’s probably a Sovereign as well.

They have lower power levels and would be able to hide from the Transcendents who are hundreds of kilometres away from us."

"I see..."

Evan nodded in understanding, before getting up and watching a school of predatory fish swarm a baby shark and bite it to death.

"Here I am, helping Gozonians attack another world..."

"You’re still hung up on that? Just think of it as a power levelling trip and you’d be fine."

Arthur got up and double-tapped his legs on the floor, before patting Evan’s back as he spoke.

"But I gotta say, you went over 20 Levels in just 3 weeks. Your levelling speed is really fast."

"I do Level Up faster than normal."

Evan shrugged as he opened his status and glanced at the ’605’ sitting in his Level tab, while Arthur questioned about Beatrix and Artemisia.

Since there were a lot of Demons gathering in Militopolis in preparation for the attack on Plomux, the two goddesses obviously couldn’t stick around. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎

Besides, Arthur, who was supposed to be responsible for their presence was a bit ’preoccupied’ at the time, so they just went back to Northern Gledea.

Evan had tagged along for unknown reasons and it was there that he ended up levelling up a lot. Beatrix and Artemisia, were already around Level 615-620, so surpassing Level 630 and becoming Superior Stage Epics wasn’t too much of an issue.

Especially as Levelling Walls were pretty much non-existent to Artemisia.

Arthur wanted to see how much Artemisia’s power had changed with her new Stage, so he sent a message to them and told them to meet him and Evan up in Plomux.

As Evan and Arthur stood on the deck of the ship, deep in conversation, the waves suddenly began stirring. At first, they didn’t notice the change much, but then Arthur suddenly raised his brow.

Evan caught Arthur’s reaction and questioned it.

"What is it?"

"Something just entered my spatial perception."

Arthur’s spatial perception, created with cosmic energy, had a range on par with peak Sovereign Existences due to his recent upgrade in spatial law comprehension.

This allowed him to detect things approaching faster than the ship’s detectors.

"The space is ’bending’...?! We’re dealing with a gravity manipulator!"

His loud voice boomed across the deck, drawing the attention of all the demons nearby.

Almost immediately after raising the alarm, the ocean waves surged and crashed onto the ship. The vessel shook dangerously, causing more than half the demons on the deck to lose their balance and fall.

At the centre of the fleet, the ocean water began swirling, creating a massive whirlpool that dragged all the ships toward it.

Dense gravitational law energy surged around them, and one didn’t need to be a gravity manipulator to know that all of the ships would be crushed to oblivion if they fell into that whirlpool.

The demons scrambled to steer the ships away, while some launched law energy-based attacks, attempting to disrupt the gravity well and free the ships from its pulling force.

The waves surged once more, slamming into the command ship where Arthur and Evan stood as if trying to capsize it. However, the Demon Naval Vessel stood its ground.

Suddenly, the water in front of the ship shot upwards, and something massive emerged from the ocean, blocking a good portion of the rising sun and casting a dark shadow across the entire ship.

Looking up at the creature that stared down at them, Arthur’s expression turned dark.

Staring down on them was a giant Serpentine creature, with a body covered in sleek, obsidian-black scales that gleamed ominously in the morning light.

Its head was crowned with an imposing horn and a series of jagged, spiny ridges that ran down the length of its serpentine neck, and its sea-green eyes glowed with an eerie luminescence, holding a malevolent glint, as if aware of the chaos it was about to unleash.

As its mouth was slightly open, Arthur and Evan were granted a glimpse of the rows of razor-sharp teeth that lined its mouth.

Tendrils of seaweed and barnacles clung to its underbelly and sides, evidence of its long reign in the ocean’s depths.

As it rose higher, more of its colossal form became visible. The Leviathan’s body stretched for hundreds of meters, ending in a powerful tail that thrashed the water, creating massive waves.

The sheer size and power of the creature were enough to instil fear in all the Low-Ranked Demons present, with the mid-ranks frowning as they could detect just how much power it held.

Alone, it wasn’t a problem for them to handle, but when added to the thousands of presences they could sense rushing towards their ships...that’s when things became tough.

The air around the Leviathan crackled with gravitational energy, bending the very fabric of space as it prepared to strike.

The skies darkened, heralding a storm while streams of pressurized water shot up into the air around it.

Beholding the sight staring down on the ship’s deck, Evan’s mouth parted as he called out a name familiar to Arthur.

"Poseidon?!"

"Uncle?!"

"...wait...what?"

Evan had only called out that god’s name as a joke, but hearing Arthur’s exclamation, he did a double take.

"Poseidon’s my Uncle, didn’t I tell you?"

"...come to think of it, you did say Hades was your dad, so it makes sense that Poseidon is your uncle."

For a moment, Arthur was curious about how Evan who was from this Universe, knew about Hades and Poseidon who were from a Universe quintillions of parsecs away, but Evan’s next words reminded him of their current situation.

"This is NOT the time to talk about this, isn’t it?"

"Sure isn’t."

"Exactly. Also, is it me or is that thing looking right at you."

Evan brought to Arthur’s attention, something that the boy had been trying to ignore for the past minute.

Unfortunately, ignoring it did not make it go away.

"Yeah, it sure is staring right at me."

And Arthur knew exactly why it was. In the few moments after this colossal Leviathan had emerged from the ocean, it had scanned the entire fleet for the greatest threats, and despite not being the Highest-level person present, its instincts warned it that Arthur was surely the strongest.

As such, the Leviathan took action to eliminate the threat.

Power condensed in its half-open mouth, reaching astonishing levels in mere seconds.

"Oy, Alvey! Didn’t you say you killed this guy?!"

While Arthur outwardly questioned if they had come face to face with the Leviathan of the Chatane Ocean, his mind was analysing something he noticed about the Leviathan.

Evan moved on instinct, his sword appeared in his hands and he dashed forward, activating two of his Unique Skills simultaneously, half a second before the condensed power was released in the form of a devastating beam.
