Chapter 426: Apex-Beschwörung

When they recognized him to be their previous summoner, they returned their gazes to the battlefield and continued dishing out attacks.

"You should have spoken before teleporting. They could have attacked you on reflex."

"I trusted you’d order them not to."

Although Arthur said that, Barron looked at the layer of law energy surrounding the boy’s hands and knew that Arthur didn’t really mean that.

"What is it? I’m busy now."

Barron was commanding his Vice Admirals, and also giving orders to a great deal of summons scattered across the entire Triton’s Ark. He was even using one of his eyes to share vision with his summons in other Sectors which were hundreds of kilometres away from their location and see how the battles there were going.

Sectors 1-5 were the main battlefield where the Transcendents and most of the Sovereigns were, but it did not mean the other Sectors lacked Sovereigns.

There were Mid-Ranked Demons there, and some of his retainers who were summoners as well were assisting them so his attention was split between multiple places at once.

Even Alvey was the same as the man was simultaneously issuing orders while fighting, though he wasn’t doing as much as Barron.

"I need your help. I want to summon a Transcendent...no, that’s too much. I’d burn too much energy."

"You don’t even have the required comprehension to summon one. If I didn’t aid you the last time then you could not have called his Hydra partially.

Even as you did, it was limited to Peak Sovereign."

[Level Up]

Arthur dismissed the notification in his field of view before replying to Barron with a question.

"So, can you help me summon another Peak Sovereign? I need your Pseudo-Authority for this."

As he spoke, he applied a ’Blessing of Destruction’ and ’Blessing of Anti-divinity’ on the Hydra, causing it to look at him with one of its heads before nodding and unleashing a breath at a random Sovereign.

Ignoring the Fake Divine who had just been blasted right out of the sky, Arthur looked right at Barron who clearly wanted to refuse.

The man’s gaze fell on the two stars on Arthur’s uniform, and after remembering the beings who were involved in granting him those two stars, the man sighed and nodded.

"Fine, I’d help."

"Why, thank you."

"Let’s just get this over with quickly."

Barron held out his hands and condensed an orb of summoning law energy, activating his Pseudo-Authority and infusing it into the orb to generate a charge.

This was basically like what Hades had done with the three crystals he gave Arthur, one of which he consumed to subdue Lostvayne.

It was at this moment when Arthur had his back turned to the Aramisians, the Hydra was in battle with three Divine Humans Generals, and Barron was infusing his authority that one of the Divine Humans used an ability to sneak up on them.

The ability he used was one that combined the powers of the laws of concealment and trickery, and they charged right at Arthur with a poisoned dagger in hand.

To show just how good they were, Barron didn’t notice them till they had gotten within ten metres of Arthur, a distance that could easily be crossed in a second.

Arthur also would not have noticed them until they got that close as well since their stealth ability was just too good.

Unfortunately, the target was a Divine Human; one who was born with divinity, not a fake like the ones manufactured in Duskhand.

As such, Arthur—the progenitor godslayer—had noticed them from a mile away.

Just as the assassin reached Arthur’s back and stabbed him with their dagger, Arthur’s pupils darted in their direction.

It was this action that let Barron know that Arthur was aware of the threat, and the boy’s reaction left the man shocked.

Arthur turned clockwise and stretched out his left hand, allowing the poisoned dagger to stab right into his palm and spill silver blood into the air.

’Silver?’

While Barron was questioning the boy’s blood colour, Arthur grabbed the palm wielding the dagger before turning his grip and twisting the person’s wrist.

Still maintaining that grip, he halted his clockwise motion with the energy of the law of gravity and generated a repulsive force that made him spin counter clockwise in an instant.

Barron ducked to avoid being hit by the body which Arthur flung through the air as he spun around but Arthur wasn’t done just yet.

He sent a surge of time law energy through their hand, temporarily halting the Divine Human’s flow of time before tightening his grip on them.

Arthur’s right hand then came into play, summoning Lostvayne and sending an internal command to both his body and the weapon he held.

’Null: Full Power!’

The silvery energy surged from his body and flowed into the sword, along with anti-divinity which then mixed with cosmic energy. Time and destruction law energies coalesced around his sword and he fired them out as a hyper beam towards the Divine Human’s body.

"Extreme Nothingness."

The beam of purple light pierced through the Divine Human’s body, obliterating everything from their neck down to their pelvic area in an instant.

[Level Up]

It continued forward, piercing through the sky with Demons and humans scrambling to avoid it.

However, Arthur’s left eye glowed and the Humans in its path had their time flow halted while the Demons’ time flow was accelerated, allowing them to make an even speedier evasion.

All these happened in the few seconds it took the beam to cross the hundreds of metres of distance between the Hydra’s head where Arthur stood and the ground, obliterating a few more humans before hitting the ground and vaporizing everything in a 200-metre radius.

"..."

Barron watched this scene with a slacked jaw, and after seeing Arthur toss the hand of the dead Divine Human away, he asked.

"Why do you even bother with summoning if you can kill Superior Legendries in a single strike?! And what was even that attack?!"

Arthur retracted his energies and unsummoned Lostvayne, removing the dagger stabbed into his palm before replying as the wound slowly vanished.

"Because it’s fun."

He then used his left hand which no longer had a hole in the back of his palm to collect the orb of summoning law energy before thanking the older demon and teleporting away.

"What in the Prime Worlds did Alvey summon?"

"I didn’t summon him; he was already coming over to this World."

"Then it’s a good thing he fell on our side of the planet."

Barron genuinely meant what he said, as he feared the potential Arthur had and just how much more powerful the boy would become at a higher realm.

Meanwhile, Alvey looked at the vaporized patch of land that Arthur had hit with Extreme Nothingness with narrowed eyes, his thoughts unknown to anyone.

◇ ◇ ◇

"If I had one wish~"

Arthur who had just ended the life of an unfortunate assassin landed on the ground in Sector 5, the furthest he could go while still keeping the main players of the battle in his Progenitor Authority’s range.

He hummed a song to himself as he conjured a five-ringed magic circle in front of him. He then dropped the orb of summoning law energy he got from Barron in the centre and the circle underwent a remarkable transformation.

A majority of the runes on the circle changed to demon language and the energy consumption increased exponentially as a sixth ring flickered into existence.

Beads of sweat dripped down his forehead as he consumed half the magic power he had just recovered not too long ago and activated the magic circle.

"This...is the BIG one."

Switching to his faux true voice, he spoke in a mix of different languages.

A moment after he spoke, the magic circle’s light died down but nothing happened. Seeing this, Arthur tilted his head in confusion and asked.

"Did I get the pronunciation wrong?"

**TREMBLE!!

A tremor shook the earth around him as all the ambient energies were drawn towards a point in space which began distorting and seeing this, Arthur could confirm one thing.

"I definitely did NOT get the pronunciation wrong!!"

The space distorted in front of him, before ripping open to give way for a massive black wolf head to pear into Aramis with its glowing red eyes.

Immediately, two identical heads also peeked through the gap and then the creature’s complete 12-metre-tall body followed.

"Cerberus?!"

Arthur exclaimed the name of his father’s guard dog, and upon hearing his words, the three-headed wolf turned towards Arthur with confused looks in all its eyes.

Its middle head tilted in confusion before questioning.

[What is Cerberus?]

"My Dad’s pet Hellhound. You look a lot like him."

The boy waved off the Hellhound as he watched the orb he had gotten from Barron crumble to dust before questioning himself.

"I’ve been summoning a bit too many wolves...do I have some sort of connection to a Wolf Dimension or something?"

The Hellhound heard his words but did not comment on them, instead, it sniffed Arthur with one of its heads before asking.

[Summoner, you have the smell of Sulphur on you...]

"Huh?"

Arthur sniffed himself, thinking he did not smell like sulphur. But after looking up at the Hellhound’s three giant noses, he felt the creature saw, or rather, smelt him a bit differently.

"Maybe it’s the Infernals."
