Chapter 425: Infernal Devils

"Oh, you’re the first Hellhound who actually speaks instead of just roaring and charging into battle."

[I was simply curious. To think that my summoner was also summoned himself. And you...though you appear to be a Level 700, you’re not actually at that level, are you?]

"And why do you say so?"

Arthur was curious about what made this particular Hellhound believe he was not a Level 700 and the answer wasn’t too far from his expectations.

[Your magic power is much too strong for a being below Level 800, and more importantly, you comprehend the law of Summoning.

I have been summoned time and time again by both Transcendents and those below, so I’ve become able to tell the difference.]

It seemed that Arthur had called up a veteran in the Summoning business, one that practised the path of ’The Summoned’.

"I see."

Arthur only shrugged, not bothering to correct the Hellhound before transmitting his intent to the Summoned Beast.

[You wish for me to aid this being you classify as a ’godslayer’?]

The Hellhound looked up and saw the battles ongoing, quickly spotting Stelan who was fighting alongside some Mid-Ranked Demons to deal with a few Fake Divine Humans and nodded before replying.

[I shall do as the Summoner says.]

Immediately the monster spoke, it crouched down and then leapt off the ground with explosive force, leaving a crater on the floor.

Arthur removed the barrier he used to protect himself from the shockwave and watched as the wolf jumped on buildings and dashed over to where Stelan was.

It made a dramatic entry by appearing from behind the Fake Divine Humans, snapping three of them up in its jaws and then bathing them in poison, fire and ice breaths before spitting them out in the Demons’ direction.

The Demons took advantage of the surprise attack and unleashed their full power, bringing down the force of several mountains on the fake divine humans and ending their lives.

Arthur then breathed in and focused on his links to all the Summons besides the Dragon Rom, before sending his Anti-Divinity through them.

He applied Blessings of Anti-Divinity on the new ones, renewed the expired blessings on the godslayers, and then gave those below the Legendary Realm his ’Blessing of Destruction’.

’That’d give them an edge against opponents of the same level.’

Arthur then turned his focus to the side where he saw the very same Seven-Headed Hydra that he had partially summoned earlier, emerge from a giant 6 ringed summoning circle in its full glory.

Seated on the middle head was the Demon Admiral Barron who commanded the monster to unleash its breath attacks once more.

Looks of terror appeared on the faces of the Aramisians as they saw the same monster who had killed a Transcendent earlier manifest in its full body, and when they saw the light gathering in its maws, some dropped their weapons and just sat on the floor, accepting their death in silence.

’It’s a pity.’

Arthur sat on the roof of a half-destroyed building in Sector 2, looking at the scene of carnage all around and sighing softly.

He dismissed the notifications that came as a result of a portion of the exp he gained from his Summons’ kills accumulating enough to level him up.

Looking in Stelan’s direction, he saw the man eviscerating a god’s heart and taking out their Divine spark with a smile on his face.

’Looks like he’s gotten the drill.’

He noticed that the weaker godslayers were also doing the same to the half-gods, and this seemed to earn the rage of the other half-gods and the Divine Humans, however, the godslayers didn’t care.

By extracting the divine sparks, they absorbed the energies inside them and gained more strength. To them, it felt like drinking a sweet potion that replenished their magic power and then went on to buff them as well.

"It’s quite the sight."

As Arthur spoke, he rested his chin on his palm, but very quickly, he noticed something and began rubbing his cheeks.

What he noticed, was that the corners of his lips were curled up and he was smiling uncontrollably.

"Hahahaha!!

I’m actually having fun right now! Who knew things like this were so fun?"

The boy ran his hands through his hair and his eyes behind his mask glowed with an even brighter light.

"All right, let’s do another Three Step Summoning."

He downed a magic potion before jumping off the roof and running in the direction where Sylvan was fighting.

If he was going to summon with corpses as a sacrifice, then the area around Sylvan was the one with the most corpses he could use.

"There are even some Sovereign Realm Corpses...I wonder if I can summon something higher than an Inferior Stage if I use them."

Arthur jumped over projectiles aimed in his direction, beheaded all the Fake Divine Humans he came across with Lostvayne and squashed a few grandmasters to death with intense gravity before reaching Sylvan’s location.

He noticed that the Transcendent was down to Half his magic power, which was not surprising as the fighting had been going on for over an hour now.

What’s more, Sylvan had taken pretty big actions at the beginning and only rested for a few minutes before re-joining the fray.

Arthur landed on one of the roots of the Demon’s Tree form, before slamming his palms on the ground and conjuring the three-step summoning once more.

He had the circles spread wide and far and consumed a lot more corpses and blood before finally activating the spell.

A surge of cosmic energy pulsed through the air as the magic circles sprung to life, flaring with an otherworldly light and illuminating the surrounding chaos with an eerie glow.

Sylvan’s giant green eyes turned to Arthur’s figure, wondering just what was doing, especially as he could see that the boy’s magic energy was being drained out faster than water from a leaking faucet.

Suddenly, the scent of blood on the battlefield intensified, and it was followed by that of fire and sulphur, a foreboding aroma that heralded the arrival of Arthur’s summons.

From the depths of the summoning circles emerged beings with jet-black wings, their forms wreathed in flickering flames.

Arthur’s eyes widened in astonishment as he looked at these beings who had wings very similar to his, each one bearing long forked tails that swayed with an ominous grace. Despite their infernal appearances, however, their eyes gleamed with intelligent light as they turned towards him.

With a triumphant grin on his face, Arthur completed the final steps of the summoning, beckoning forth even more of these beings—Devils.

As the last of them emerged from the summoning circles, their expressions twisted into wicked smiles, their delight palpable as they surveyed the scene of carnage before them.

"What a wonderful sight you’ve graced us with, Summoner."

"’Wonderful’, huh? I see you Infernal Devils are the same in every universe."

Arthur got back up to his feet, clenching his fist before drawing upon his anti-divinity and blanketing them with a veil of silver light.

|¬Kill everything you see with Divinity. ¬|

The young progenitor’s Faux true voice caused the heads of the bloodthirsty Devils to snap in his direction, and he slowly increased the pressure of gravity in the area around him.

|¬What are you waiting for? Get to work already. ¬|

Infernal Devils were an unruly bunch, so Arthur had to assert dominance to make them fall in line, otherwise they could suddenly ’get bored’ and decide to start killing his Demon Allies as well.

He enforced his words with the law of summoning’s power, a command that would cost them soul damage were they to defy it.

His faux true voice, added with the fact that the imperceptible cosmic energy increased the gravity around them, made them assume Arthur to be a being a lot stronger than he actually was.

The Sovereign Realm Devil who was summoned by the Third Step of the spell narrowed his eyes in the boy’s direction and Arthur responded with a glare, his eyes glowing with the light of his destruction law energy.

After this silent standoff, the Sovereign Devil ordered the others to move out and they flapped their wings, taking to the skies and joining the fray.

It just so happened that at that point, there was a battalion of Fake Divine Humans heading in Arthur’s direction with orders to take him out while one of the Divine Human Transcendents headed towards Sylvan to keep him busy.

Arthur looked at the approaching Divine Humans who were met in battle by the Devils, before making a peace sign and teleporting away.

Arthur took a deep breath before dipping his hand into his subspace and pulling out a Divine spark he had gotten from the gods in Duskhand.

He began absorbing the energy from the stone and used it to replenish his magic power that had been exhausted, watching the spark crumble to dust and get blown away by the wind.

’That’s one down.’

Taking a deep breath, he stepped back out into the open and looked right at the giant Hydra with Barron, summoning spatial power and locking onto it.

’Greater Teleportation.’

He disappeared after a flash of silver light and reappeared right beside Barron, only to turn and see two of the Hydra’s heads looking at him with hostility.
