Chapter 423: Oh? You’re approaching me?
As the Divine Human Transcendent fell, the battlefield went silent for a second. The silence was broken by the echoing laughter of a High Ranked Demon. With a wry smile, he shook his head in disbelief.
"Would you look at that? We got outdone by this kid!"
The Demon’s laughter carried a mix of astonishment and amusement, but there was also a hint of determination in his tone. Sensing an opportunity to rally his comrades, he capitalized on the moment.
"If this kid can take out one of their Transcendents, then what are ’we’ dawdling around for?"
By ’we’, he referred to himself and the other High Ranked Demons, and his words ignited a spark of determination among them.
This also affected the Demon Army foot soldiers who raised their weapons and charged forward with renewed intensity.
[NICE ONE DUDE! HERE’S A BUFF!
BLESSING OF ANTI-DIVINITY!]
Arthur clapped again and conjured an array of three-ringed magic circles. The circles fired out beams of silver light that hit the bodies of the Demons and covered them with its hue.
With this, they would become more resistant to the Divinity of their opponents, and for Demons, it could not be a better buff.
But of course, there was no way the Aramisians would let Arthur continue with his antics.
He was a walking drop to morale and the Higher-ups of the Army had already figured out who the boy was. Seeing as he was so talkative, they didn’t want him to say anything to drop the soldier’s morale even further.
Seeing the Divine Humans charging towards him, Arthur raised a brow behind his mask and questioned.
[Oh? You’re approaching me? Even though I literally just clapped and you guys lost over 50 levels?]
"I can’t kill you if I don’t get close!"
[That so? Then come as close as you like.]
Arthur spread out his arms while smiling behind his mask, and seeing him keep himself so defenceless, the Divine Humans quickly felt something was wrong.
Unfortunately, they were already within range.
’Gravitemporal Harmony.’
Before they could even stop and back away, Anti-divinity pulsed from Arthur’s body and the force of gravity within a 250-metre radius of Arthur increased exponentially.
All of them slammed towards the ground unceremoniously and Arthur sighed and shook his head before speaking words that dropped the morale of the Triton’s Ark’s defenders even more.
[Couldn’t even get close. The soldiers of Duskhand put up a better fight before I destroyed them all.
You lot aren’t even half as impressive as they were.]
"Someone get that kid to stop talking!!!"
Despite the orders barked out and the attacks they sent towards Arthur, the increased gravitational force around him made it hard for projectiles to reach him.
Even the soldiers who closed in on him could not do much as they were affected by the intense gravity. They wondered how Arthur could cause such strong gravity distortions even though he was only a Legendary, but he was someone who comprehended the law of gravity, as such, his control over gravity was on the same level as Transcendents!
’Come to think of it, this is also another reason why I can easily kill people above my level...’
As he was lost in his thought, one of the Divine Humans used some sort of skill to resist the gravitational pressure and charge towards him, thrusting their spear of divinity right at him.
Golden lightning crackled around the spear as he aimed it for Arthur’s head, but the moment he got within a metre of the boy, his whole body suddenly slowed down.
’What? Could it be...time magic?’
His senses caught onto the presence of the time law energy and identified what Arthur had done, but knowing it didn’t mean he could do anything about it.
Arthur filled his hand with anti-divinity using Gravitemporal harmony’s Weighted Impact and then infused destruction law energy into it as well.
He tilted his head to the side to dodge the spear strike, before delivering a neat backhand slap to the face of the Divine Human.
As Arthur’s hand, charged with anti-divinity and destruction law energy, connected with the Divine Human’s face, a deafening shockwave erupted from the point of impact. The force of the blow was so intense that it sent ripples through the air, distorting the space around them.
The Divine Human’s head recoiled violently, swivelling a full 360 degrees on his neck, before finally coming to a stop in an unnatural position.
For a moment, there was a stunned silence as everyone who had their eyes on Arthur processed what had just occurred.
Then, without warning, the man’s lifeless body slumped to the ground, devoid of any remaining vitality.
Arthur’s eyes widened in shock at the sight before him, his mind struggling to comprehend the sudden turn of events.
He looked at his palm, and then at the man’s corpse, double taking before he finally reacted.
[Did I just smack him to death?]
"Yes. You just did."
Alvey was the one who replied, and when Arthur turned to face the man, he saw that there was the lifeless corpse of a god falling to the ground not too far from him.
[Damn, that was hard...]
The boy muttered this as he looked at his palm, before abruptly increasing the energy concentration and turning towards the other Divine Humans present.
[Who wants some?!]
He flapped his wings and dashed forward with his right hand raised, and the sight of this had many Divine Humans turning tail to flee from him.
Leaving aside the fact that he just killed one of their comrades with a backhand slap, they had identified Arthur as the ’Silver Demon Summoner’ who destroyed Duskhand in a night, no one wanted to face him.
Unfortunately, the people who had the power to face him, namely, the Transcendents, all had their hands full dealing with High Ranked Demons.
Eventually, Arthur noticed some Demon Soldiers in a Sector fighting a losing battle and stopped chasing the fleeing Divine Humans in favour of saving them.
"Oy! Lieutenant Colonel! Send your men around the block for a pincer attack on the Battalion coming through!"
He flew low, moving through the city streets as he headed straight towards the Aramisian Battalion in front of him.
"Chain Lightning!"
His hand was engulfed in silver lightning and he tossed the lightning at one random Aramisian, blasting the man’s head to bits with it. The lightning didn’t fizzle out, and instead jumped to the nearest soldier near him and killed that one, before jumping to the next.
They let loose arrows and magic but Arthur simply smacked the arrows away with his hands while dodging all the magic spells.
With the Battalion focusing their manpower on him, the Demon Unit that came from around the block attacked them in the back successfully.
While their commander wanted to focus his forces to repel the Demons on one side, there was Arthur on the other side who was firing bolts of lightning from his hands.
Given this unit wasn’t too strong, a pincer attack with Arthur on one side ended in their quick defeat, and after lopping off a commander’s head, Arthur flew back to the main battlefield.
’I can’t stray too far or the gods would be out of the range of my Progenitor Authority.’
Since he was giving the Demons a buff just by being near them, he had to remain in the area where most of the High-Rank Demons and the gods were for it to be effective.
This meant that a great Majority of the Divine Humans of Aramis were unaffected by Arthur’s presence, and a lot of them were wondering what the boy was talking about when he said they should lose levels.
Of course, they still saw the giant seven-headed monster unleash beams of destruction that were equivalent to several large-yield nukes so they were still scared of him though.
’The gods aren’t weakened too much since my Authority is spread out over a great number of individuals, but if I have someone to lighten the burden, I can focus more on them.’
And Arthur had just the right person for that. He drew upon his summoning law energy and slammed his palms together, creating a five-ringed magic circle right in front of him.
The circle calmly spun around, in contrast to the raging battlefield around him where humans, elves and demons died every minute.
"Stelan, get over here."
The magic power surged from his body as the Summoning Circle glowed with light, before unveiling the form of the familiar brown-haired godslayer who was down on one knee.
"Would it be possible for you to summon the others as well?"
Stelan asked that question the instant his body had been reconstructed, completely ignoring Arthur having a mask, or the battlefield around him.
"The other godslayers? Why not? Give me a link."
"Thank you."
Since the older man had already linked himself with the other godslayers in his home world, all he had to do was extend his hand to Arthur who sensed the law of summoning’s link and used it to draw the other existences connected to it with his power.
A third of Arthur’s maximum magic power was consumed to summon them, and within a minute, there were now over a dozen more godslayers surrounding Arthur.
