Chapter 416: Not so quiet infiltration [Random Bonus]

"BE CAREFUL!! DON’T HIT THE CRYSTAL COREE!!!"

The Brigadier General screamed at the top of his voice, infusing magic power to enable his voice to be heard over the explosions while his subordinate Lieutenant Colonels tried to use magic to aid his wounds.

However, the powerful demonic and law energies infused in the tree branch strike were too potent for their magic to have any effect on him.

When the dust cleared up from the explosion, the dented metallic floor of the power plant area was revealed, along with a dome of wooden pillars that had been signed by flames and burned all over.

The wooden dome collapsed into broken pieces of wood, revealing the kneeling figure within.

It appeared to be a giant tree, with face-like features on its bark, a division between its trunk that formed legs, and long branches that served as arms.

Two glowing green eyes manifested on the Tree’s bark and the orbs looked up at the thousand men surrounding it before the tree’s mouth parted open.

"Let’s get this party started."

Immediately he spoke, multiple throned branches coated with demonic energy shot out at hypersonic speed, piercing through the defences of the weaker grandmaster realm soldiers and boring holes in their chests.

The branches pulled out of their bodies and dragged out a few organs along with them, before zapping over to their next targets and wrapping around their necks, tightening with enough force to make heads pop off their necks.

Blood and guts sprayed everywhere as the Divine Humans launched attacks towards this Tree Demon in a frenzy, but despite the fact that their Divinities were indeed effective, the Tree Demon’s defensive power was just too great.

What’s more, he had potent demonic energy and wood law energy that allowed him to make wooden pillars appear from his left and right, joining together in a dome-shape with him at the centre to block any particularly dangerous attack launched by the Legendary realms.

This defence was usually followed up by hundreds of throned branches shooting out towards the attackers and preventing them from following up their attacks.

Some roots dug into the ground and burst out through the walls, from shoots grew and bloomed flower cannons which fired beams of Demonic energy in all directions.

As for the gun ports that fired bullets of condensed divinity? These were the easiest for the Tree Demon to deal with using his own beams of demonic energy that blasted them to pieces.

Within a few minutes of combat, 500 members of the 1500-member brigade had been killed either simply being stabbed to death, blasted to ashes by Demonic and Wood law energy beams, or pierced by thorned branches, before being thrown into the path of their ally’s attacks.

It was then that words that shocked all those who heard were uttered by the Tree Demon who had been silent ever since he began this massacre.

"Tsk...this damned Divine Crystal Core is weakening me; I cannot exert my full strength."

Hearing this, the Brigadier General in charge of the Brigade narrowed his eyes and appraised the demon, infusing more energy into his eyes to bypass the Demon’s resistance.

’This potent Demonic and law energies, as well as the fact that he’s still standing even when faced with over a hundred Level 700 Divine Humans...

This is definitely a High-Rank Demon!’

His conjecture was confirmed when he finally got a result from his appraisal in the next second.

"?!"

The man’s soul nearly left his body when he saw that not only was it a High-Rank Demon, but it was one of the Famed Four-Star Demon Generals!!

A Demon General had gotten this deep into the Triton’s Ark and yet the Divine Human Transcendents hadn’t detected him.

And then, as if to send the Brigadier General to the depths of despair, another voice, one he recognized as he had faced against its owner before, rang out.

"Should I pitch in?"

There was a long black-haired and brown-eyed man suddenly seated on Sylvan’s shoulder, and his face was one that almost every soldier of the Triton’s Ark recognized.

"Demon Admiral Agriker!!"

The man grinned evilly when he heard one of the Lieutenant Colonels call out his name, snapping his finger and releasing a surge of the law of summoning’s energy.

Suddenly, black armoured hands appeared from behind the soldiers and brought jet-black swords down upon them. The blades were heavy, with impacts that sent flesh and blood flying in the air.

This was an advanced Summoning Technique, a ’Partial Summon’. It cost less magic power but the strength of the monsters whose parts were partially summoned was diminished slightly.

At higher levels of comprehension, however, this drawback was completely nullified.

Heads were sent flying by this sudden attack, but some Divine Humans reacted fast enough to block the attacks with magic shields or their melee weapons.

But for those who blocked the initial attack, they were soon overwhelmed by the follow-up onslaught.

Summoning magic circles appeared around the sword-wielding arms as the Partial Sumon was transitioned into a Full Summon.

The two-metre-tall armoured Dark Knights emerged from the circles in all their glory, charging at the Divine Humans with Swords and Shields coated in thick demonic energy.

In a coordinated effort, the Dark Knights teamed up and swiftly dispatched the Divine Humans. With three Dark Knights attacking each opponent, the Divine Humans stood little chance, and within a minute, they were all defeated. 𝘧𝓇ℯ𝑒𝓌𝑒𝑏𝓃𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭.𝒸ℴ𝓂

"Oh, I get what you mean Sylvan. It took five more seconds than I expected to kill them all."

"Even with that boy’s blessing, this thing still weakens us."

Sylvan replied to Barron as he glanced at the massive Divinity Crystal Core not too far from him when suddenly, a third voice rang out.

"Let me renew the blessing then."

"?!"

A hand landed on both Barron and Sylvan’s shoulders, releasing a surge of energy that wrapped around their bodies and formed a thick protective layer.

"...when did you get here?"

"Just now.

The cloaking around this area disrupted your perception and prevented you from detecting my teleportation."

Arthur spoke as he descended to the ground and stared up at the giant Divinity Crystal Core before smiling wryly.

"Alvey really amazes me.

I thought I had mapped a good route to this place but to think Alvey had an even better map. How did he get it anyway?

And why was he so sure that the Defence forces around this Power Plant would be weaker than normal?"

"Those are questions we would not be getting answers to anytime soon. Anyway, let’s get moving quickly, the Treant I sent to divert their attention would not last too long.

If genuine Divine Humans get there, they’d see through its true nature and defeat it easily."

Sylvan spoke as he held out his palm and summoned a metre-wide tree stump. The stump then cracked open to reveal a space of seemingly endless darkness, which he dipped his hand into and pulled out a giant black box.

Arthur nodded and opened up his subspace, pulling out a similar box while thinking about the Mimic Demon he had seen in Alvey’s house two weeks ago.

’It could be him...’

While he thought that, the three of them brought out ten 2-metre-tall black boxes, which they opened up to reveal Generator-like machines.

’Fighting against gods for so long, it’d only natural they’d create such a device to deal with them.’

Arthur collected the massive power cables which Barron retrieved from his interspatial ring, before plugging one end to the machines and taking the other towards the Divinity Crystal Core.

"Which ones did Alvey specify again?"

"14, 3, 9, 11, 17, 18, 20, 21, 25, 30."

Barron read out the ten numbers on a paper he held while Arthur flew around and unplugged the power cables in the specified ports, before plugging in the ones connected to the Generator-like machines.

"All done."

"He placed a lot of emphasis on Cable 14. Apparently that one disables the main Divinity Energy Cannon built into the Ark’s Sector 2."

"Well, I made sure to unplug that one first."

Arthur replied to Barron as he held up Cable 14, and the Demon nodded before switching the black machines on.

Their engines revved to life, but instead of generating energy like they appeared to, they instead began absorbing the energy from the Divinity Crystal Core.

The boy then took a deep breath before releasing a wave of Anti-divinity and Cosmic energy that washed over the giant crystal of Divinity and created a thin silvery veil of power around it.

Instantly, Sylvan and Barron sensed the feeling of ’weakness’ that had plagued them since entering the Triton’s Ark dissipate, as if it had never existed.

Arthur had sealed the weakening effect of the Divinity Crystal Core’s energy on Demons with his actions, allowing both of them to operate at full strength.

"Alright, Sylvan.

Spread your roots."
