Chapter 407: Divine Dragon Attack
Though Arthur called it a flying lizard, it was in fact a bona fide member of the dragon race.
"I just wanted to have a nice nap but we just so happen to encounter a wild dragon."
"It’s not a wild dragon."
Alvey spoke up as he used his energy to create a spatial barrier around the Airship. He could see the light of intelligence in the dragon’s eyes, and more importantly, he had felt the aura of this particular dragon before.
Gold dragons were pretty rare, and most of them were royalty amongst the dragons of Aramis, so it wasn’t hard for Alvey to figure out which dragon this was.
"This is the son of a Transcendent Dragon I met in the past."
"Oh? Are you on good or bad terms with his father?"
"Obviously Bad. The Dragon is an Aramisian. And a Divine Dragon to boot."
Arthur shrugged and was about to state that it was possible for him to have Aramisian allies when he suddenly realised something.
"I thought the dragon was daft, daring to attack while you were here but it seems the dragon doesn’t even know that you are here.
You’re hiding your aura."
Since Alvey was concealing his presence completely, the Dragon could only sense other Legendary Realms like himself. That was why he had the confidence to attack them.
Arthur stretched his body and stepped forward, and seeing this, Alvey questioned his intentions.
"I recently reached a Milestone in my Summoning law comprehension. I am now able to forcefully subjugate other beasts and turn them into my summons.
As fate would have it, a dragon decided to offer himself up."
When he spoke, he turned towards the demons nearby and told them to open the cargo hold of the Airship.
"Sir?! The Dragon is a Superi-"
"Open it up."
Alvey spoke and despite the lower-rank demon’s misgivings, he silently bowed and opened up the cargo hold.
Seeing the size of the door, Arthur turned towards the dragon that was flying around like it was about to charge towards the airship and frowned.
"It’s not big enough."
He then jumped out of the cargo hold and let gravity pull him towards the ground.
Taking a deep breath, he unfurled his wings and flapped them with all his might, instantly altering his trajectory and shooting towards the Dragon who was gathering magic power in his maw.
"GROARRR!!!"
"Let’s do a breath competition.
Sorry, but due to the difference in stages, I’m gonna have to cheat a little."
Just as Arthur said that, the Dragon unleashed its full-powered breath in the direction of the Airship’s gondola.
Arthur also opened his mouth and gathered cosmic energy in front of it, mixing the cosmic energy with destruction law power and anti-divinity before firing it as a beam of crimson silver light.
**BOOOOMMM!!!!!
The two breaths clashed in mid-air and what followed was a power struggle as the two breaths tried to overpower each other.
It didn’t last long as the Dragon was shaken up momentarily due to Arthur’s sudden breath attack that came out of nowhere and the Young Progenitor took advantage of that shirt laps in concentration.
Arthur doubled the anti-divinity he infused into the breath and the dragon was quickly overpowered. The crimson silver light devoured the dragon’s gold breath and collided with its body, causing it to stumble in the air.
"Ahhh, you’ve fucked up bro."
Arthur followed his words up with a charge aiming for the dragon’s head, but the Superior Legendary dragon reacted quickly, spinning his body around and slashing at the boy with his magic power-coated claws.
"I’d make this quick. Lostvayne."
Summoning his trusty sword, Arthur gripped it tightly and activated his Annihilation, causing silvery circuits to appear on the back of his palm.
|¬Null¬|
The Dragon flinched on instinct and tried to pull back his arm but it was already too late.
**SWISHH!!
"GRRRAAAAAHHHHH!!!!"
Arthur’s clean slash lopped off the dragon’s arm from its elbow, the sword bypassing its scales like they weren’t even there.
"Celestia, get the arm."
The semi-transparent blade shot out from Arthur’s hand and stabbed into the falling limb, before lifting it and dropping it into Arthur’s subspace.
Blood splattered through the air and some of it even got on the Airship that was trying to manoeuvre around Arthur and the dragon.
Arthur trusted Alvey to protect the airship from any mishaps, so he reduced the concentration of Null’s power to the bare minimum and raised Lostvayne over his head.
’Split Series: First Split.’
"Mountain Split."
A wave of destructive energy surged forward in a single mighty slash that flew towards the incoming attack.
Despite being wounded, the dragon naturally was not foolish as to stay there and let the slash reach him, but his attempts to flee were rendered futile by Arthur who used a short Time Stop on his body.
The Time stop was released at the last nano-second before the projected slash collided with the dragon’s scales in a mighty explosion that parted the clouds.
The force sent the dragon’s body careening down to the ground. He crashed on the ground violently, with so much force it bounced back up and crashed back down.
Arthur wondered just how loudly the Aramisians below were screaming for him to hear their voices at the altitude he was, but then again, he was not too surprised as the Dragon’s body had crashed into a mountain.
It bashed through the mountain, tore through a river and crashed onto the second mountain that was on the other side of the river.
Before the dragon’s brain could even fully assess the damage, a sonic boom was heard and a streak of silver light shot down from the skies and crashed right onto the dragon’s stomach.
Arthur, who had landed a perfect Axe Kick, shifted his body to avoid the spray of blood that gushed out from the dragon’s mouth due to the damage he took.
"This should be enough. Subjugation."
The energy of the law of summoning coalesced in front of his palm by his command, before wrapping around the wounded dragon’s body. Chains crafted with the law of summoning’s energy emerged from the ground and restrained the dragon’s limbs to prevent it from struggling.
"You would be a perfect mount, Lizard."
Arthur walked up to the dragon’s neck and called Lostvayne into his palm, gripping the sword before pointing it at the dragon’s neck.
"Submit or die in 5, 4, 3, 2-"
"...s...ubm..it!"
"Wise Choice."
With those words Arthur sheathed Lostvayne, but he still did not remove the restraining chains on the dragon’s body.
Arthur was very capable of forcing a master-servant pact between himself and the Dragon as he had defeated the creature thoroughly, but he wanted the dragon to be the one to submit simply to crush the dragon’s ego.
"The pact is forged. Now, I’d give you your arm back."
Opening up his subspace, Arthur took out the severed limb he had Celestia retrieve and used his energy to move it to the Dragon’s arm stump.
He extracted all the Null energy that would have prevented that wound from Ever healing, before activating Temporal Reversal on the arm.
However, even though he had extracted the Null energy, it did not change the fact that it had been there at one point. As such, Arthur expended 3 times the amount of energy he would have normally required to heal the dragon’s arm.
When he was done, he cleaned the sweat on his forehead and spoke to his swords.
"Remind me NOT to use Null on things I want to subjugate."
[Master, I’m gonna bet my blade that even if I do, you’d still use it anyway.]
Arthur silently smacked Celestia back into his subspace before carrying on with the rest of the subjugation process. He raised both hands and a wave of summoning law energy washed over the dragon’s body, swallowing it up in a surge of silver light.
When the energy wave died down, the dragon’s body was nowhere to be seen.
"Now, I have the Summon Space for storing these kinds of summons.
Maybe I should put Stelan in there...he might go crazy."
The Summon Space was basically a small Subspace meant for keeping Contracted Summons Alone. Arthur doubted that non-living things could enter there so there’d be no form of entertainment for anyone in there.
"I did want to speak with Stelan again but I spent most of my time on comprehending laws that I forgot.
Anyway, the higher my comprehension, the higher the duration of the Summoning so it’s good."
The meeting with his fellow godslayer would have to wait until he was done with Triton’s Ark. Arthur had seen pictures taken from afar, but he really wanted to see the Mega-Floating Island with his eyes.
’Since we’d be attacking it, maybe I should summon Stelan and the other godslayers.
I also need to make a list of summons I’m going to use for this attack."
While muttering to himself, Arthur locked his gaze onto the Airship in the distance and used magic to boost his sight.
"Teleport."
