Chapter 385: goddess A down
With that same burst of temporal energy, he slowed her movement speed, and simultaneously, activated localized gravitation to triple the effect of gravity on her body.
Combining those two, she could not even lift her sword to block Arthur’s attack, and her attempts at using light magic were all useless as the gravity law energy bent the magical light.
Arthur stretched out his left hand and summoned Celestia, before proceeding to engulf it in Null’s energy like Lostvayne was.
The two blades pierced into the goddess’s torso, effortlessly slicing through her ribcage and embedding themselves in her liver and intestine.
Before Arthur could drag the blades upwards, he sensed the earth beneath his feet begin to shatter, and quickly jumped away, avoiding the giant fiery arm of rocks that emerged from the ground and tried to grab onto him.
Clenching his fist, Arthur activated strength enhancement and punched forward, releasing a shockwave of destruction energy that blew the giant arm to bits.
The ground behind him caved open and another one emerged from behind him with the same intention, but he spun around fast enough to kick it away.
"Celestia!"
The sword that was still embedded in the goddess’ torso roughly pulled itself out, doing as much damage as possible in the process before flying into Arthur’s outstretched right hand.
As soon as he grabbed the blade, he infused his energy into it and activated a technique.
"Mountain Split!"
The massive wave of destructive energy that was contained in his blade surged forward in a single mighty slash that flew towards the giant arm of flames.
***KAAABOOOOOOMMMMMM!!!!
In a second, the arm was blasted to bits and the slash continued tearing through the earth on its way to god B’s position, forcing the man to quickly cancel his technique and fly out of the area as fast as he could.
Despite having missed him, the slash continued carving the earth, obliterating everything in its path; including Divine Humans and Arthur’s hellhound summons.
However, Arthur had already returned his attention to the goddess whom he intended to kill first.
He kicked off the ground and dashed towards her, reaching C’s side faster than the god could react. In the short moment that it took him to cancel his healing spell and attempt to block, Arthur had spun around twice and generated enough momentum to send a roundhouse kick to the side of the god’s head.
It would have sent him flying for a few hundred metres if it wasn’t for the shield of wood that suddenly appeared in front of the man’s head and blocked Arthur’s kick at the last moment.
Though the shield had shattered to splinters; Arthur’s attack had been blocked and the boy was genuinely surprised and a little bit impressed.
"Even with Lostvayne stabbed into your stomach, you can still manage to manipulate law energy?"
The one who protected C, the goddess whom Arthur had stabbed earlier, should have been feeling the pain of having her very soul eaten away; Lostvayne which had been infused with Arthur’s null was still stuck in her body, after all.
She tried removing the sword but just touching it made her feel like she had dipped her hands into lava. Light healing magic also didn’t seem to have any effect on the wound caused by Celestia, so her golden blood was continuously spilling out and to the ground.
Being able to manipulate law energy and create a shield strong enough to block Arthur’s strike in this state was a feat worthy of admiration.
"In respect for that, I’d kill you faster than I originally planned to."
Arthur slammed his palms together and chanted under his breath, before releasing a Lightning Quintempest, sending the five tornadoes in the direction of B to keep him from interfering.
C was already using a mixture of pressurized water spears and earthen blades to attack Arthur, but this wasn’t something a little time-stop couldn’t deal with.
And then to make matters worse, Arthur activated Localized Gravitation.
**BAAMMM!!
The god fell flat on his face, while Arthur effortlessly used Celestia to cut down his attacks. Picking up the god, he slammed the man’s body onto the ground, lifting him up and spinning him around before sending him flying in a random direction.
With no one to interfere, Arthur was free to condense the effects of the Localized Gravitation on the goddess’ body.
’But if I crush her body with Localized Gravitation, it’d destroy her divine spark as well...I need that.
The Divine Spark of a Sovereign would definitely be delic—I mean, would definitely contain a lot of energy.’
Once he had that thought, the boy released the localized gravitation, giving the goddess a short moment of respite—the last she’d ever have.
Arthur grabbed onto her face and kicked off the ground, dragging her head along the earth in the process, all while Lostvayne was still stabbed into her torso and dealing continuous damage over time to her.
With a speed of over 2500 metres per second, Arthur dragged the goddess on the ground through the battlefield, occasionally picking her up by the leg and swinging her body to bash through random Divine Humans.
He teleported into the air and holding her leg, released an overhead slash with the goddess’ body on the back of a Legendary, smacking them towards the ground.
Unfortunately, the man never reached the earth as a pair of Hellhounds snatched him up in their jaws midway and pulled him in opposing directions, ripping the man in two.
But by the time they did this, Arthur was already slamming the goddess back onto the ground and dragging her head along the earth as he blitzed towards the barrier of the Inner City.
Upon reaching it, he bashed the bloodied goddess on the barrier walls and ran up the barrier, drawing a long line from the ground up with her golden blood.
Jumping to the side, the body repeated the same action, but along a horizontal axis this time, with the two lines of golden blood intersecting to draw up a cross.
The Floodlights from the Outer City pointed in that direction and what they saw was a winged figure whose back was facing them holding up a wounded person with their hand.
What caught most of their attention, however, was the cross of golden blood on the barrier.
It was common knowledge that the gods had gold running through their veins instead of blood, and seeing this cross of golden blood, it didn’t take the Aramisians long to figure out what was happening.
As if on cue, Arthur held the wounded goddess up to the side with his left hand, coating his right hand in anti-divinity before punching it through her chest.
More golden blood splattered around as his arm went through with very little resistance, grabbing her heart on its way out.
[Level Up]
[Level Up]
[Level Up]
[...]
The boy then flung her body away, tossing it towards the barrier wall before ripping out the golden crystal of divinity that was embedded into her heart.
"One down."
He briefly glanced at his status and saw his new level, quickly losing interest as he noted that his realm was still that of the Inferior Stage.
[HOW DARE YOUUU!!!!!!!]
The sudden shout of rage momentarily stunned the boy and he nearly dropped the divine spark in his hand. Thankfully, he used time law energy to suspend it temporally on reflex, before grabbing it and putting it away into his subspace.
However, when he looked up, the scene he saw was one that surprised him even more.
The god he tagged ’B’ was charging in his direction, emanating powerful divinity that he should not be able to use under the influence of Arthur’s Progenitor Authority.
Fuelled by a mixture of grief and fury over the goddess’ death, he summoned blinding beams of intense light that seared the surroundings, ending the lives of dozens of hellhounds on their way towards Arthur.
Simultaneously, torrents of scorching flames erupted, dancing in tandem with the brilliance of his divinity. He roared as he manipulated molten earth and shaped it into a destructive wave that surged towards Arthur.
Of the multifaceted assault, the light beams were the fastest, reaching Arthur’s location in barely a second.
’Localized Gravitation!’
