Chapter 360: How well does ‘Mountain Split’ fare against a Real Mountain?

The destruction energy cut off Sigesi’s connection with the ice shards, making it so that it was no longer ’her power’.

This meant she had no choice but to fly out of the way to dodge the rapid firing of these icy projectiles that Arthur subjected her to in the next second.

He used the law of time to mess with their speeds, as well as her own speed, slowing her to the point where she considered flying away as fruitless and instead erected a defensive barrier, before taking a moment to break out of his time slow.

Immediately after, she had to use Frostshade to slash down at the projectiles that blasted through her hastily created barrier at supersonic speed.

While she was occupied with this, Arthur proceeded to chuck the second orb at her, using the same Gravity, Destruction and Time combo to increase its lethality.

Sigesi released a burst of aura to knock the projectiles back, before turning around and stretching out her left palm, catching the second orb of ice with her hand coated in aura.

She tensed her fingers and infused energy into it, making the mini-meteor unable to maintain its form as it was broken back down into energy and disintegrated as if it never existed in the first place.

◇ ◇ ◇

While Arthur and Sigesi were going at it in the sky, two Demon Generals on the ground were pressing their fingers to their brows.

"Didn’t I tell you to escort him to the room prepared for him? And to watch him as well."

"Yes, General. We carried out your orders."

"So, what is this scene that I’m looking at?"

The Second Lieutenants whom Alvey had ordered were sweating bullets as they didn’t know how to explain the events that transpired to him.

"...He somehow fooled our perceptions and we did not figure out he was not really in the room until we sensed the surge of energy from the sky.

We could sense his presence outside, but upon opening the door, we saw the window open; showing he had left through there."

The other Demons nearby looked on with hints of confusion as they didn’t understand how Arthur had fooled the Lieutenants, and neither did Alvey.

The Demon General assumed it was an artifact or something, but the truth could not be further than that.

Arthur had utilised his Pseudo-Authority over time to leave an ’Echo’ of his presence in the room.

At one point in time, he was indeed inside there, so with his Pseudo Authority, he left an echo from the time he was present inside there, making the people outside think he was still present in the room when in reality, the boy was long gone.

Alvey sighed softly and turned his gaze towards McEnda beside him, but the Archdemon only shook his head and spoke.

"You know even I can’t stop her when she gets like ’that’."

Looking up at the sky, the two Demon Generals watched the battle between Arthur and Sigesi. TO other spectators, their speed was so fast they looked like blurs, but Alvey and McEnda could see it all very clearly.

Arthur was blitzing through the air and Sigesi was trailing behind him while launching countless projectiles of ice which he either stopped in time or slowed to give himself time to dodge.

She waved her hands and caused a wave of ice to surge out of the clouds and cascade towards Arthur, but Arthur slowed down the wave and sent out attacks with his destruction energy to counter.

The demon then cupped her palms and drew them towards her side, concentrating demonic and law energies into a single point between her palms.

She then thrust them forward to shoot out a streaming, powerful beam of energy so dense it made the Legendries watching feel chills in their souls.

But Arthur’s retaliation was one that blew their minds.

The boy acted like a certain reptilian type creature they were all familiar with, opening his mouth lightly and condensing his destruction energy into a single point in front of it.

Within seconds, it was a beam of silvery destruction energy shooting through the sky on its way to clash with Sigesi’s Ice beam.

The clash resulted in a breath-taking explosion, a dazzling display of opposing energies colliding and creating shockwaves that reverberated through the aerial battleground.

As a user of the law of space, Alvey could tell that the space where the two beams collided had distorted.

But more than that, he was surprised by Arthur’s manner of attack.

"...that was a genuine Dragon Breath, right?"

"Definitely. No doubt about it."

The Dragon Breath Rune Arthur had stolen from Owen years ago hadn’t gone anywhere, and the boy was putting it to good use.

Sigesi gave up on competing with Arthur’s breath and flew upwards, before changing her trajectory mid-flight and beelining straight towards the boy, with a giant sword of icy energy forming in the air above her, while he launched dozens of destruction energy weapon constructs towards her, each one accelerated with the law of time’s power.

Unflinching, she grabbed onto the ice sword and swung it down with all her might, making Arthur tense lightly as he activated Lucifer’s technique.

"Mountain Split!"

The slash of energy cleaved through the blade, dividing it into two equal halves and blowing Sigesi back with its shockwaves.

"Mountain split, huh?"

The corners of the woman’s lips curled up in a grin, her eyes and hair glowing with a faint blue light as she continued.

"Let’s see if you can split a ’Real Mountain’." 𝒻𝓇𝑒𝘦𝘸𝑒𝒷𝓃ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝒸ℴ𝘮

’Pseudo-Authority of Ice + Child of Ice.’

Arthur’s instincts screamed at him, warning him of the impending danger resulting from whatever Sigesi had just done with her powers.

Looking at her, he could see that her enormous energy reserves suddenly reduced by a great amount, showing that whatever attack she was preparing, could actually kill him; Sub Cosmic physiology aside.

From behind the white clouds over them, Arthur beheld a massive shadow, one that cast a dark veil spanning several kilometres over the city of Militopolis.

Looking at this from the ground, Alvey’s brow twitched as he asked.

"...she’s not gonna do that, right?"

"Too late, she has already done it."

McEnda’s reply came at the exact same moment that the object that Sigesi had conjured pierced through the clouds to reveal its full appearance.

It was a Mountain.

An enormous mountain of demonic and ice law energy, fashioned like an inverted cone.

Its base spanned over four kilometres in diameter, and its height was even higher than that.

Looking at the mass of power coagulated in the mountain as it hovered in the air behind Sigesi, Arthur’s expression turned dark.

"She went ahead and summoned a fucking mountain..."

He let go of Celestia and sighed, summoning a tiny bit of Null’s power as he spoke.

"I didn’t want to have to use this, but I guess I have no choice."

Indeed, he did not. This was the full-power attack of a Superior Legendary; it wasn’t something he could deal with without using all his powers.

The space around his arm distorted and his silver energy circuits manifested like veins across his arm.

**CHINK!

Sigesi’s vision turned monochrome for a second, and in the next, there was a different weapon in Arthur’s hand.

A lone jet-black blade with dark red lines running through it like veins.

|¬Lostvayne. You’re up. ¬|

The sword, Arthur’s voice, and everything else about him suddenly felt different. It gave one an instinctive urge to get away from him as far as possible.

Alvey who was on the ground attempted to appraise Lostvayne, however, the Demon General was shocked when he felt a heavy gaze on him, bearing down on his soul.

Two streams of blood flowed out from the sides of both his eyes and his vision momentarily grew dim as he staggered lightly.

"Alvey?! What the heck?!"
