Chapter 351: Inferior Legendary

Seeing that didn’t turn out well, Arthur changed the question he wanted to ask.

"What are your demon ranks? I wanna know if it’s the same around the Demon-ruled universe where I come from."

This time, it was Alvey who responded to his inquiry as McEnda’s mouth was busy with his food.

"Ranks? Well, we use the default, Low, Mid, and High system. After High Ranks are Peak Ranks, then Demon Lords.

The ’Lord’ rank is subdivided into ’Junior’ and ’Senior’.

After that, we have the ’Demon Kings’.

Each rank is stylized differently. High and Peak Ranks are ’Sir’ and ’Lady’. Lords go by ’His/Her Lordship/Ladyship. Kings/Queens go with ’His/Her Excellency’."

"Similar, but not quite.

Where I come from, ’Demon King’ is a title reserved for the leader of the Universe’s pantheon. Even my grandfather is titled ’Devil King’.

Arthur replied as he drew upon the energy of the universal law of Karma, evoking an expression of light surprise from McEnda.

"People being surprised I can use universal laws has frankly gotten old. Might as well just become a Legendary so I stop getting that reaction."

The boy muttered as he pulled up his status and looked at the 699 sitting on his level tab.

By this universe’s standards, Arthur was Level 688 when he first arrived. After killing multiple inferior Legendries who were Level 700-730, along with hundreds of other Levels 500-699, it’d be stranger if the boy didn’t reach 699 himself.

Of course, the fact that he needed a higher-than-normal amount of exp due to his ridiculously high energy reserves was also taken into account, but the ’Third Magic’ worked its ’Magic’ and the boy got all the exp needed to enter the Legendary realm.

’Systems are broken...’

With that thought, Arthur took a deep breath and stuck his hand into his subspace, before pulling out a divine spark and making McEnda spit out his drink in shock.

Ignoring the dumbfounded Archdemon, he removed his contact lenses, dropped them on top of the table and then proceeded to toss the divine spark into his mouth, before standing up and taking some distance from the table.

"Alvey, mind putting up a barrier with your Pseudo-Authority. What that’s about to happen may be a little rowdy."

It only took the demon a second to comply with Arthur’s request, and in that same moment he did, Arthur’s body began undergoing changes.

’I knew this was gonna happen...’

A burst of divinity escaped his body, surging outwards like waves. Together, with it, flowed his anti-divinity, the two energies clashing for dominance as they moved through his energy circuits.

His magic power and aura followed suit, not taking any sides in this confrontation that occurred both inside and outside his body.

Arthur’s left blue eye flashed with light as he exerted control over the fighting energies, and whether they wanted to or not, he pulled them both into his energy core and stuffed them inside there.

He then proceeded to use those energies to break past the barrier of the Legendary realm—something that turned out to be harder than he expected.

Normally, at the Legendary realm, one gained nodes around their souls that allowed them to use universal law energy, but Arthur was born with these nodes already.

In fact, looking at Arthur’s soul, one could mistake it for that of a Transcendent due to the law energy within it.

Anyway, with Arthur’s special circumstances; becoming a Legendary was going to be different for him.

After quelling his opposing energies, Arthur began a process of circulation and compression, but it did not take up to five seconds for this process to become automated since he was in the middle of a breakthrough.

The condensed and concentrated energies were continuously and quickly flowing around his body through the energy circuits in his body and soul, before retracting back into his energy core, condensing into a denser form that increased the amount he could hold, and the quality of the energy.

As the breakthrough continued, Arthur’s heart resounded with palpable intensity, loud enough for Alvey and McEnda to hear it clearly.

New energy circuits were formed around his heart, branching into various regions of his body, further enhancing his capacity for energy control.

Part of this energy was then infused into his body, spurring it on to begin a subtle transformation.

His muscles began stretching and contracting, while his bones made slight cracking noises as his height seemed to increase a bit.

Uncontrolled by his conscious will, his wings emerged from his back, revealing intricate silver lines running through them like veins—a manifestation of his energy circuits.

His temporal, destructive, and null energies bubbled up, alongside his spatial and gravitational powers.

His wings unfurled once more, then folded around him like a protective shroud.

Cosmic energy then surged towards his form, enveloping him in a radiant cocoon of energy that remained for close to five minutes.

When it finally disintegrated, Arthur’s body was released from inside and his feet touched down onto the ground with newfound authority.

The boy ignored the notifications, and covered his mouth with his palms, inhaling deeply before exhaling a small cloud of misty silver energy.

’Primordial? Makes sense considering I’m the first of my race.

I guess all Progenitors would be considered ’Primordial’ breeds of their respective races.

As for my Health stat...let’s take it as the system trying to represent my nigh-immortal physical body.

My energy...is on the level of an inferior Sovereign, no surprise there. Strength and other stats put me on the level of an intermediate Legendary instead.’

Arthur went through the status board and saw everything was normal (Abnormal) and nodded to himself in satisfaction.

He then walked back to the table and sat down there, taking a sip from the wine he drunk earlier, ignoring the two demons who were scrutinizing his current state with their eyes.

His breakthrough was so quick and so quiet that it actually left them more impressed than surprised, and the results of the breakthrough had them sighing.

"I never thought I’d see someone with ridiculousness like Alvey’s ever...but in the end, the cosmos is a really big place.

To think a bug like you exists."

McEnda spoke as he finished his wine and sighed once more, and for once, Alvey did not refute his friend calling him ’ridiculous’.

Hey y’all, it’s your friendly neighborhood author, _michael here. 👋🏽

So, where do I start?

I have learnt a very good lesson recently, and that is to never write and schedule Chapters for upload while ’under the influence’.

Not of drugs or alcohol or anything of the sort, but of one of mankind’s three basic needs:

SLEEP.

For some reason, I decided it was best to write and post Chapters while lacking sleep for over 35 hours, and the past few Chapters being messed up in order is the result.

I somehow ended up posting Chapter 346 as Chapter 350 and mixing up a few other Chapter titles and contents.

And even after getting my well-deserved 6 hours of sleep, I somehow didn’t think of checking it, just to see if my sleep-deprived brain had messed things up.

It was after, and only after the Chapters were already uploaded, that I decided to take a look at the abomination that was the Chapter order.

🤦🏽‍♂️

Anyway, long story short, I’ve corrected things so it should make more sense to you as you’re reading it now.

Thanks for your understanding and I look forward to you continuing on our Godslayer’s Legend.

This has been _michael.

Over and Out! ✌🏽
