Chapter 352: Plans and Ploys

After finishing his ridiculous breakthrough to the Legendary realm, Arthur then proceeded to go back to finish his dessert like normal.

But perhaps, due to the fact that he just broke through and consumed a lot of energy in the process, Arthur found himself wanting another serving of food.

"I thought that after I met Alvey, I would not see anything more ridiculous but I gotta say, Alvey, the kid’s worse than you are."

"Tell me about it."

The two demons spoke to themselves as they saw Arthur twirl around a ring of ice law energy to cool the wine he was drinking even further.

It was glaringly obvious that even though the boy had the same level of energy as an inferior stage Sovereign, the quality of his own energy was far higher than normal Sovereigns.

Currently, Arthur could use 10 units of energy to achieve what a normal Sovereign would do with 40 or 45.

Forget intermediate stages, Arthur could go up against Superior Legendary realms and they wouldn’t even know how they lost.

However, the boy in question didn’t really care about that and was more concerned with the difference between ’Greater’ and ’Arch’ demon breeds.

"Well, most ’Greater’ Demons are originally lower-breed demons who evolved their way up the Racial Tree.

As for the ’Arch’, most of them are either born that way or are descended from Archdemons so they eventually become Archdemons themselves after reaching Transcendence; like McEnda here."

"I see..."

Arthur nodded to himself in understanding, thinking it was similar to normal Devils and ’Pure Blooded’ Devils, or ’Noble’ Vampires and ’Pure Blooded’ Noble Vampires.

The ’Noble’ ones evolved to that stage while the ’Pure Blooded Noble’ ones were born that way.

"Come to think of it, are there Vampires in this world?"

When he asked that, both Alvey and McEnda shook their heads to the side. As far as they knew, there were no Vampires on Aramis.

"If there were any then they’d be pretty good at hiding since even the Demon Lords and Kings had not detected them."

"I’m more inclined to believe that even if they existed, the Humans and Elves would have wiped them out.

Divinity and Holy Magic are quite common here; both of which are harmful to Vampires and their subspecies."

McEnda added on to Alvey’s words, and upon hearing this Arthur silently shrugged his shoulders.

’I guess it’s not this world I encounter Vampires then.’

He pushed the ’Time Dreams’ he had during his trip across the cosmos to the back of his mind and dipped his hand into his subspace to pick out a change of clothes.

"I’m feeling a bit sweaty after the earlier fight so I wanna freshen up a bit."

When he said that, the servants in the room showed him where he could finally take a bath after days of not taking one as he was stuck inside the Spatial tunnel to Aramis.

’Hell’s in the First Multiverse, right? Am I still even in there anymore?’

Such a question passed through his mind as he walked out of the room, leaving behind the two high-ranking demons.

◇ ◇ ◇

The instant Arthur walked out, Alvey ordered the other servants to leave before snapping his fingers and isolating the space around the room.

"Alright Alvey, what’s the deal with this kid? A Progenitor of a new race? Like, for real?"

"You saw his status when he opened it up, did you not? The System identified him as a ’godslayer’.

Plus, there’s the fact that he can use Divinity despite having Devil traits.

No Half-Devil, Half-gods we’ve ever seen can do that, and I doubt the ones we haven’t seen can do so either."

Alvey calmly replied to his friend as he pulled out a bunch of files from his subspace and placed them on the table.

"He’s very valuable combat power and I plan to incorporate him into our forces. Especially since his ability to use divinity despite his Devilian traits would throw those ’Fake’ Divine Breeds off their game."

The man referred to the Divine Humans and Flugels of Aramis as Fakes, citing that there was quite the story behind their abilities to use divinity.

"I know exactly which mission to send him on for his first job."

When McEnda saw the file Alvey passed to him, he raised his brows in surprise and turned towards his friend with a questioning gaze.

"Are you for real?"

"Yes, I am. As soon as we get back to Militopolis, I’d give him a few days to adapt and get used to things around here, at most a week.

After, I’d bring it up and have him go there. From what I could glean about him in the past few hours, I don’t think he’s the kind of person who wouldn’t get irritated by what he sees there.

I mean, even we get pissed, and we’re supposed to be the ’DEMONS’."

McEnda could see the seriousness in Alvey’s red eyes as the man spoke, and he knew that the latter was simply informing him of a decision that had already been finalized.

He leaned back on his chair with a sigh, flipping through the data that the Demon Army of Gozon had on the ’Duskhand Bastille’, one of the main bases belonging to the Coalition force of the three major races of Aramis who were mainly antagonistic with the demons.

’Though if they ever discovered what we’re after, then the other races would join them to resist us.’

Such a thought crossed his mind as he put the papers in his hands down with a sigh.

"Anyway, how did things on the frontlines go?"

When Alvey suddenly asked that question, McEnda’s head snapped back in his direction with a glare.

"Why are you asking? Hasn’t your Mimic told you all that happened?"

The man was clearly annoyed at how Alvey casually boycotted the whole series of battles that had been ongoing and sent a Mimic in his place.

He had known Alvey since they were teenagers, and to this day, he had no idea how the man commanded so many Mimics.

"I haven’t synced his memories yet."

As soon as he said that, he snapped his fingers and a tall featureless humanoid appeared in the room, immediately dropping down on one knee and speaking with a mouth McEnda could not see.

"Greetings, Lord Sargon."

The Mimic fished out a memory stone and presented it to Alvey as he continued.

"Here are the details of the Past Few Days."

"Good, you are dismissed."

The Mimic bowed once more before sinking into Alvey’s shadow, while the Demon injected his energy into the Memory Stone and began sorting it out.

All the parts he considered ’unnecessary’ were discarded using the power of the law of knowledge, and he then proceeded to absorb everything else, from interactions with his subordinate Major Generals to orders from the orders from the ’General of the Army’.

"..."

He remained silent for a moment, before heaving an exhausted sigh as it seemed that he was going to have to prepare for an unwanted guest after returning to Militopolis.

"I think you’re the only General who considers his superiors to be unwanted guests..."

"His visits usually come with more work. I have to restart the Summoning process as well since the earlier attack wiped out a huge chunk of the ones I already summoned.

This time, I’d probably try summoning more of High-Rank Demons and see how that goes."

The red-eyed demon started making plans for his next summoning spree, going through a list of Gozon’s allied worlds to pick a target world.

Now he had to inform the Demon Rulers on that world so they didn’t shut off his summoning spatial tunnels.

"I already have enough on my plate as is, I’m not ready to have more pile up."

He and McEnda proceeded to discuss a ton of other sensitive matters, where the latter discovered his friend’s plans for the ’Triton Ark’, the Aramisians’ mobile fortress on the Umhiz Ocean to the east.

Plans that involved replacing one of the Commanding officers of the Fortress with a Mimic, allowing him to be aware of almost every major decision made concerning the Fortress, their battle plans and so on.

"Dude, you know that’s not our jurisdiction, right?"

"It will be soon.

I can already see the Demon Kings being displeased with that idiot’s loss against the Triton Ark and them passing it over to both of us who have not lost any of our last five battles."

When Alvey broke things down for McEnda like that, the Archdemon’s face paled rapidly.

Alvey ignored his friend’s increasing despair and snapped his fingers, disabling the spatial isolation on the room just in time for Arthur to reopen the doors and walk in.

At the same time, McEnda chose to say the kind of words you wouldn’t expect from one of the Second Highest Ranked persons in the entirety of Gozon’s Army on Aramis.

"...I think I’m going to have to lose my next battle on purpose."
