Chapter 343: The Devour Class System of Valmone
’Pseudo-Authority of Space!’
The realisation that this man possessed a Pseudo-Authority increased his potential threat level to a new high, making Arthur keep his hand over the Cosmic Teleporter just in case things went haywire.
However, he suddenly felt the ambient law energies trembling strangely, with the laws of wisdom and knowledge, in particular, trying to enter his body.
It was as if the energies were trying to ’look’ through him.
He was about to rebuff them with Cosmic energy when the man spoke up once more.
"Resisting is not exactly a good idea. You’d have to deal with the World’s Repulsion if you do. And it’d only get worse with each passing day.
Besides, I don’t see there being any demerit for you."
The man shrugged his shoulder lightly as he spoke, summoning a white chalk in his hand and telekinetically controlling it to draw a summoning circle on the ground.
He then proceeded to recast his summoning magic and call forth a two-headed Demon Dog from some kind of infernal realm, after which he enforced a contract upon it.
Arthur watched this happen as he ascertained if the ambient energies trying to permeate through him were dangerous, and only after a few minutes did he give them access.
The instant he did, a diaphanous board of white light appeared in his field of vision, displaying a series of messages written in black text on it.
[Welcome to Valmone]
[Registering External Existence....]

These messages remained there for a full minute as the energy of the two laws, along with cosmic energy strands permeated through Arthur’s body, peeking at the information of his body and soul, revising that information and then converting it into an Alphanumerical form that could be displayed to him.

[Welcome to Valmone, Arthur Vaughn.]

[Y] \ [N]
At this point, Arthur had long since understood what was happening.
"This universe has a System?"
When he tapped the ’Y’ and looked at the details that showed up, he compared it to what he learnt in the academy and understood the type of system this was.
"A Devour Class system."
"You know that much?"
The uniformed man who had finished dealing with the Legendary Realm Demon Dog and had sent it outside to join the other beings there, spoke as he heard Arthur’s words.
"Is that not common knowledge in this world?"
Arthur had zero intention of hiding the fact that he was not from this planet to the man. Besides, he had already figured that out as his magic circle was supposed to summon something from outside this planet, meaning wherever Arthur had come from, he was not from the world they were on since the Magic circle’s spatial tunnel had ’grabbed’ him.
"In a way, yes."
"That so..."
Arthur muttered as he looked through the status that was now being displayed in front of him.

’It wasn’t kidding when it said a lot of things needed longer times to compute.’
Arthur could see that there was a system for these ’Skills’ and ’Unique Skills’ that this planet, or rather, this universe followed.
The System had scanned his soul’s information and picked the things he had that fit within the category of ’Skills’, displaying these things on his status.
But in some cases, like Extreme Nothingness, it was not even sure of what it was displaying, hence the double question marks beside it.
His Bounded Field was something only he had, so in a way, it could be considered a ’Unique Skill’. As for the Normal Skills, it showed things he had taken with his Core Absorption and had used most frequently.
"You have very ridiculous stats kid."
Hearing the man’s words, Arthur quickly closed the status board and backed away a bit, but he still had the feeling that the man was ’looking through’ him.
’So, it’s not that he was looking at my status board but he was using something else...a skill?’
"It’s an Appraisal type skill called...well, Appraisal."
The man answered Arthur’s question as if having read the boy’s mind.
He held his right hand up in the air and used magic to generate a projection of light, displaying multiple lines of text which Arthur momentarily glanced at.
"This is how stats are usually distributed among Levels. With this, you’d be able to understand why I say you’re ridiculous."
And after reading through, Arthur could not help but agree with the man. However, he was not too surprised by this, as it was something he already knew of.
|1-20-F Bronze
20-50-E Silver
50-100-D Gold

600-700-SSS Epic
700-800-X1 Legendary
800-900-X2 Sovereign
900-1000-X3 Transcendent |
His stats being in the ’X’ rank range meant that the power he possessed was comparable to Legendary Realm existences.
"You’re not surprised, guess you already knew about that."
The man dismissed the projection of light, before fishing out a parchment from his subspace, one that Arthur noted was very similar to the one he gave the Demon Dog earlier.
With the energy of the law of languages that had been helping him understand the man, he translated the Demon Language on the paper and read through the contents when it was presented to him.
"Enough chit-chatting for now. Every being that has come through this summoning magic circle today signed one of these. Doesn’t matter if you’re a Demon or a Devil; you are no exception."
Arthur looked at the man with lightly narrowed eyes, before sighing and giving a one-word reply.
"No."
Having read the contents of the contract, in his eyes, it appeared to be no more than an enslavement contract, and a soul-binding one at that.
Basically, it meant he had to work for this uniformed man and fight in his army in some kind of war.
Leaving aside the fact that Arthur had zero intentions of involving himself in a war whose specifics he had little to no idea about, the boy simply did not want to be bound in servitude to anyone.
No way the boy who had lived as a Prince all his life could agree easily.
But the other party completely ignored Arthur’s resistance.
’I don’t know how he has a Pseudo-Authority, but since he has one, he’d be very valuable combat power.
Even more useful than those Legendary Realm Mid Rank Demons I’ve been summoning all day.’
The man simply wanted Arthur under him because of his power, and a part of his mind had even begun formulating battle strategies to take advantage of his Time Control.
"I wonder where you got the assumption that you had a choice in the matter."
He spoke with a sigh as he stretched out his hand and grabbed Arthur’s shoulder, but the young Progenitor didn’t exactly like that.
"Between this and Holy Magic, I wonder which one deals more damage to demons like you?"
Before the man could even understand the reason for Arthur’s sudden question, a haze of silver energy surged from the boy’s body, enveloping his hand and within seconds his skin began scalding over.
Simultaneously, the parchment in his hand suddenly burst into silver flames of the same energy, turning to ashes in seconds.
The man quickly removed his hand from Arthur’s shoulder, taking an instinctive step back due to the energy as he stared at Arthur incredulously and spoke.
"Divinity?! You’re clearly a Devil. How can you use that?"
"Ask the god of the Underworld."
The Uniformed Demon gazed at Arthur in silence for a few seconds, before glancing at his scalded palm.
’To be able to wound me so much in mere seconds, the purity of his divinity is very high.’
Returning his gaze to Arthur and seeing the boy flare his divinity, the man tilted his head to the side with a confused expression and asked.
"You don’t think you can possibly beat me just because you can somehow use Divinity, right?"
"Nope, never thought that."
"Oh, cool. Thought you were getting ahead of yourself there."
The man spoke after confirming that Arthur wasn’t getting any delusional thoughts, showing confirming his conjecture that the boy had long sensed his own power level even though he hid it.
’Well, he has a Pseudo-Authority so it’s not too surprising.’
"You also know that you can’t run even if you wanted to, right?"

♧ ♧ ♧
Hey y’all, it’s your friendly neighborhood author, _michael here. 👋🏽
Well, there’s certainly a lot I wanna say but I also want to keep this short so I’d just stick to the main stuff.
🥇First and foremost, for older readers who have already read far into the story. Remember that filler arc about a sports festival? somewhere around Chapters 142 and 147?
Yeah, I scrapped that.
Not completely, per se.
I just took those five fillers and compressed them into one long Chapter.
This action, left me with five free spaces to put more important, main story related content, and I did exactly just that.
Chapters 142 to 149 looked something like this before:
Chapter 142 - Sports Festival begins
Chapter 143 - Death Bridge Run! I
Chapter 144- Death Bridge Run! Il
Chapter 145 - Tentacle Guard
Chapter 146 - Fall Towers
Chapter 147 - Garuda Shoot & Wall Break
Chapter 148 - Preparations
Chapter 149 - Reactions
But now, it should resemble something like this:
Chapter 142 - The Sports Festival
Chapter 143- Preparations
Chapter 144- Reactions
Chapter 145- Onerth Galaxy
Chapter 146-1000 word-l mean, 1000 seconds
Chapter 147-The demigod Necromancer l
Chapter 148-The demigod Necromancer ll
Chapter 149- The demigod Necromancer lll
As I said earlier, I compressed those unnecessary Chapters into one big Chapter you really don’t need to read if you’ve already read it before, and I added a little extra arc that kind of relates to the main story inside.
From the titles, you can already guess what it’s about, but I’m sure y’all would still read it either way, right?! 😄
...right? 😢
ANYWAY, you guys should go check it out and see what changes I made.
🥈Secondly, the Chapter update schedule.
This is kind of the more important one for most of you though.
Anyway, it’s glaringly obvious that I’ve been going through various Chapter update frequencies in the past few months, so much that even I’m put off by it.
So, I decided to stabilize things a bit, and provided there are no IRL complications, I should be able to stick to a 4 chaps/week schedule.
Sundays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays.
I’d do my best to keep up with this.
🥉Thirdly, I have nothing else to say except thank you for following Godslayer’s Legend up to this point. I see all your power stones, Golden tickets, and privilege purchases, and they are very much appreciated.
I’d be picking up the story’s pace from this point on, so sit back and enjoy the ride.
Thanks for your understanding and I look forward to you continuing on our Godslayer’s Legend.
This has been _michael.
Over and Out! ✌🏽
