Chapter 342: Cosmic Journey

A surreal panoramic scene unfolded before Arthur’s eyes.

Streams of radiant cosmic energy danced in a mesmerizing ballet, filling the universal/dimensional gaps, with their luminous currents forming intricate patterns that pulsed ’lightly’.

Thanks to his Sub-Cosmic Physiology, Arthur could see this beautiful scene, as well as the convergence of universal laws caused by the surging cosmic energy.

Seeing this, the boy understood why universes needed to act as filters for cosmic energy, as if the density of Cosmic energy he saw was what existed in universes, then billions of existences would be crushed to space dust under its weight every second.

The ever-shifting display of colours surged forth, intertwining with various universal laws. At a glance, the boy could see time, creation and entropy all at once.

Occasional rifts in space-time appeared, and he saw glimpses of distant universes, appearing and vanishing in the blink of an eye due to how fast he was moving.

Long story short, this was a beautiful scene, but it was one Arthur had grown tired of, after all, he’d been seeing it for the past seven days.

Despite the speed at which he moved through the spatial tunnel created by the Cosmic Teleporter, one he was sure would dwarf light, the boy was still in motion even after seven days.

This showed just how far away his destination was from Hell.

On a side note, Arthur’s body was encased in thick layers of cosmic energy that protected him, and it was this ’Capsule’ of cosmic energy that moved at FTL speed whilst protecting Arthur within.

After all, if the current Arthur were to attempt FTL movement, his body would break apart faster than his sub-cosmic regeneration could keep up.

Just when he was counting the 695th universe with a Red colour scheme, he noticed an abrupt shift in his movement speed and trajectory.

It had begun bending slightly, and after drawing upon the endless law energy around him, he was able to discern that he was headed straight towards a certain super massive orb of Cosmic energy of about a few dozen billion lightyears in diameter.

It took no less than a few hours for Arthur to reach it, and the Cosmic energy capsule carrying him phased in smoothly without complications.

Well, Arthur did not feel the complications, but there was a lot of energy turbulence outside, and he could see the barrier of the universe actively resisting the capsule he was in, due to its comic energy density.

But that only lasted no more than a few seconds and the boy had successfully entered into Valmone, his eyes greeted with a cosmic tapestry he had seen times without number.

To alleviate his boredom, he and Celestia began counting how many elliptical galaxies they could see, a game that was cut short when they were pulled into another galaxy.

Just when Arthur’s odyssey through the boundless expanse of space was coming to an end, that was when the dangers began.

Sure, he had encountered a lot of dimensional rifts on his way here, and some of these rifts were large enough to swallow entire universes, but these things all happened at distances ridiculously far away from him.

However, what just happened made Arthur almost activate the Stellar Guard on reflex.

Some brilliant and immensely energetic object loomed before him, radiating an intense blinding light as if a sun had been compacted into a single dazzling point.

This radiance of incandescent energy had raw power and law energy emanating from it, and the gravitational forces at play were staggering, warping the surroundings and creating distortions in space-time.

And the Cosmic energy capsule Arthur was in brushed right past this celestial phenomenon—a quasar.

As if that was not enough, Arthur went on to brush past another extinction event, coming across the ruins of a dead solar system that had been consumed by its star which had turned into a giant black hole upon its death.

It was only after an hour of encounters like this that Arthur reached the parts of the Galaxy that were much more stable.

He could see giant star ships moving around, traversing the void at infinitely slower speeds than his, carrying armies that charged towards massive planet-sized Void beasts whilst waving banners.

But his attention was drawn away from these things when he noticed that the energy in the orb of the Cosmic Teleporter was running out—meaning his destination was close.

’This is the Orithyia Galaxy, huh?’

Arthur’s spatial tunnel led all the way to one of the many star systems in this wide Higher Galaxy, beelining straight for one of the planets orbiting it.

’To think that all the planets in the Star System are high-level worlds, and the one I’m heading straight to...that’s definitely a Prime World.’

Since he was from a planet higher than that and had gone to many Prime Worlds, Arthur was capable of telling the difference due to the sheer amount of cosmic energy it emanated.

Bathed in the luminescence of a star, its surface appeared as a mosaic of continents, oceans, and lush landscapes, swathed in vibrant hues of brown, blue and green.

Arthur took a moment to admire the mountain ranges forming jagged silhouettes when he noticed a spatial disturbance around him, one that came from outside the cosmic energy capsule.

"That’s...a spatial tunnel?"

It seemed someone was either traversing through space or summoning something through it, however, Arthur’s expression darkened when he noticed that this newly appearing spatial tunnel was headed straight for the one that he was in.

The gap between him detecting it and the collision occurring was only a few seconds, too short for Arthur to even attempt anything. 𝙧𝙚𝙚𝔀𝒆𝓫𝓷𝙤𝓿𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝙤𝓶

The two spatial tunnels collided at a point with an explosion of spatial power, distorting the space around them.

What followed next was something Arthur did not expect.

The Cosmic Teleporter hijacked this other spatial tunnel and sent Arthur into it. By doing so, it no longer needed to create its own tunnel and the energy within it could be conserved, even though it was only a drop in the ocean compared to what was there before.

Thanks to this, Arthur also felt no turbulence or resistance passing through the planet’s fabric of space since the tunnel the Cosmic Teleporter hijacked had already done all the heavy lifting.

He beelined straight through the tunnel, reaching the end where a bright light made him close his eyes momentarily.

When he reopened them with his guard at max level, he found himself in a strange environment.

He was inside a magic formation drawn on the floor, and a quick glance told him it was a summoning formation.

The surroundings were fuming hot, filled with so much fire law energy, and another energy Arthur recognized.

’Demonic Energy...’

He felt a bit of repulsive force pressing down on him, attributing it to the Planet’s resistance to his unwanted presence here.

Arthur did not spend too much time feeling the differences in surroundings, as there was something that took priority over that.

The presence he had sensed the instant his body entered this space.

If what he was standing in was a summoning circle, then that was definitely the summoner’s presence.

"I was trying to summon a Demon Dog from my world, so how the heck did a Devil Kid come through instead?"

A male voice rang out, one that Arthur could sense its speaker’s sense of calm despite the situation where what they were doing did not turn out as planned.

He looked up to lock eyes with a man who possessed an air of authoritative elegance that drew immediate attention.

His slightly pale skin contrasted with a shock of striking black hair, which framed his chiselled features with precision.

The man was draped in a meticulously tailored black military uniform adorned with a collection of medals, and adorning his chest pocket was a crest encircled with four stars.

He wore a long black overcoat, complemented by matching gloves which seemed to further accentuate his authoritative presence. On the coat’s shoulders, four stars gleamed like celestial beacons, enough to tell even the most ignorant about military matters that this man held a very high rank.

"Honestly, I’m as confused as you are right now."

This was not really true but Arthur certainly did not want to begin explaining now so he just went with that.

As he spoke, he sent out a little energy wave in all directions to sense if there were any other people nearby, but though he sensed other presences, they were quite far away.

In response to this action of his, the man’s brow raised in light surprise, and Arthur felt ’something’ activate, followed by the man’s voice.

"Superior Stage Epic? At 17? That’s impressive, even by our races’ standards."

"I know, right."

Arthur agreed with the man as he kept searching for possible pathways to exit the building he was in, keeping a normal expression on his face whilst frowning internally.

’There’s some kind of spatial lock here...I can’t teleport out, even with Cosmic energy...’

Focusing his gaze on the man in front of him, he realised the reason why.

’Pseudo-Authority of Space!’

♧ ♧ ♧

Hey y’all, it’s your friendly neighborhood author, _michael here. 👋🏽

Well, there’s certainly a lot I wanna say but I also want to keep this short so I’d just stick to the main stuff.

🥇First and foremost, for older readers who have already read far into the story. Remember that filler arc about a sports festival? somewhere around Chapters 142 and 147?

Yeah, I scrapped that.

Not completely, per se.

I just took those five fillers and compressed them into one long Chapter.

This action, left me with five free spaces to put more important, main story related content, and I did exactly just that.

Chapters 142 to 149 looked something like this before:

Chapter 142 - Sports Festival begins

Chapter 143 - Death Bridge Run! I

Chapter 144- Death Bridge Run! Il

Chapter 145 - Tentacle Guard

Chapter 146 - Fall Towers

Chapter 147 - Garuda Shoot & Wall Break

Chapter 148 - Preparations

Chapter 149 - Reactions

But now, it should resemble something like this:

Chapter 142 - The Sports Festival

Chapter 143- Preparations

Chapter 144- Reactions

Chapter 145- Onerth Galaxy

Chapter 146-1000 word-l mean, 1000 seconds

Chapter 147-The demigod Necromancer l

Chapter 148-The demigod Necromancer ll

Chapter 149- The demigod Necromancer lll

As I said earlier, I compressed those unnecessary Chapters into one big Chapter you really don’t need to read if you’ve already read it before, and I added a little extra arc that kind of relates to the main story inside.

From the titles, you can already guess what it’s about, but I’m sure y’all would still read it either way, right? 😄

...right? 😢

ANYWAY, you guys should go check it out and see what changes I made.

🥈Secondly, the Chapter update schedule.

This is kind of the more important one for most of you though.

Anyway, it’s glaringly obvious that I’ve been going through various Chapter update frequencies in the past few months, so much that even I’m put off by it.

So, I decided to stabilize things a bit, and provided there are no IRL complications, I should be able to stick to a 4 chaps/week schedule.

Sundays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays.

I’d do my best to keep up with this.

🥉Thirdly, I have nothing else to say except thank you for following Godslayer’s Legend up to this point. I see all your power stones, Golden tickets, and privilege purchases, and they are very much appreciated.

I’d be picking up the story’s pace from this point on, so sit back and enjoy the ride.

Thanks for your understanding and I look forward to you continuing on our Godslayer’s Legend.

This has been _michael.

Over and Out! ✌🏽
