Chapter 334: True Form Unleashed
The man still had quite a sizable amount of energy left.
Kulir currently had all his parameters limited to somewhere around 87-90% of their maximum due to Esna’s presence.
Taking that percentage to 100% and equating it in video game terms, he currently had around 46% of his Health left and 53% of his energy left.
Sure, their attacks were powerful enough to take out close to half of his limited health parameters, and their higher quality energy that was about 3x denser and more powerful than normal Epic Realm existences made them able to deal greater damage.
But in the end, Kulir was an Intermediate Stage Legendary.
There was an entire realm of power gap between them.
The god took a deep breath, before studying his current state closely.
’That red-eyed girl. Whatever she did to me, it’s preventing my wounds from healing and I can’t deal with it.
My energy regeneration is also slower than normal. I should have more than half my energy back by now.’
Such thoughts passed through his mind as he used his senses to access the spatial storage artifact ring he had on his finger, fishing out a pill from it and tossing the pill into his mouth.
’Now then, let’s make an example of this lot.’
With that thought, he looked up at the five in front of them and took a deep breath once more, rousing his energy as he parted his lips and spoke.
"True Form Unleashed."
A pillar of darkness surged up into the skies, parting the dark clouds as waves of darkness coalesced around Kulir’s body.
By the time the darkness had died down, a transformation had taken place, one that had Idall’s eyes widening in shock as he knew exactly what this transformation entailed.
Kulir’s form had now grown to a whooping ten metres tall, radiating an aura of darkness that seemed to consume all light in his vicinity.
His once-human appearance was now augmented by an intricate mechanical suit of armour adorning his arms and shoulders, and glimmering with an eerie iridescence.
Dark tendrils writhed around him, crackling with the energy of the universal law of darkness and ready to lash out at anything that dared to come near.
Before Idall could even attempt to warn the quartet of the danger, Kulir vanished from his sight—or rather, he moved so fast it seemed like he had vanished.
It took a good five seconds after he moved for the sound of his movements to finally reach where he stood, but by then, his body was already flying through the air and crashing down onto the crater Nicole’s earlier bombardment had created.
For Esna who was right next to him, he delivered a whip-like kick towards her that sent her flying in a different direction, before raising his right arm and creating a giant sword of lightning and darkness.
His pupils darted in Edward’s direction and he blitzed forward, swinging the sword down towards the human boy who rose his shield to block.
**BOOOOOOOMMMMMM!!!!!!
The devastating force of the slash sent out shockwaves in all directions, and the power behind it made Edward’s knees buckle under the pressure.
Cracks spread out across his shield, showing it could not hold much longer under the weight and forcing the boy to use the last of his magic power to activate an ability.
"Counter!!"
All the divinity and darkness law energy that was bearing down on him reversed trajectories, returning to their wielder.
Dozens of lightning bolts spread forward, striking down in all directions and preventing Nicole from even daring to get close to the area.
Kulir spun his body around and delivered a clockwise horizontal slash that knocked Edward from the side, shattering the sacrificial artifacts he had on and sending his body flying.
’Weird. That should have killed him...’
Just as he thought that, Layla’s sword suddenly shot straight towards his head, and he created a small square-shaped shield of darkness to block.
The girl’s sword pierced through it with ease, but the time it took was more than enough for Kulir to dodge it without stress.
He rose his left hand and grabbed her blade, pulling both her and the blade before swinging his right hand to slash down on her.
Her gear symbol-shaped pupils flashed and five hover guns appeared mid-air, firing beams of grey light that shot down his sword’s blade and redirected its trajectory, forcing it to the ground and preventing it from slicing her in two.
She then spun her body around and kicked his hand, forcing him to loosen his grip on her sword. She pulled her sword out and jumped backwards, but by the time her feet touched the ground, Kulir was already in front of her.
**SWISHH!! **BOOMMM!!!
The god delivered a ’casual’ sword slash that left the teenage devil girl barely conscious at the bottom of a massive crater in the ground.
In that same instant, he sensed an incoming attack and spun around, transforming the sword in his hand into a spear which he thrust out to meet Nicole’s incoming lane thrust.
The tips of the weapons collided and Kulir ignited his energy, creating an explosion of volatile energy that sent Nicole’s body flying backwards and dark lightning bolts spread out everywhere.
He then jumped up into the air and summoned a gigantic bow of black wind, before generating six three arrows of flames, lightning, and darkness.
"One for each of you."
Saying those words, he unleashed the arrows, sending them firing towards Nicole, Esna and Idall respectively.
**KABOOOOMM!!!
Nicole’s scream of pain rang out amidst the explosion as the darkness god had specifically infused divinity into the arrow of flames he sent towards her, capitalizing on her weakness to the energy type.
When all the dust and smoke died down, the quintet lay defeated on what was left of the ’ground’, with Kulir slowly descending as he tossed another pill into his mouth.
’I should have that alchemist make more of these energy regeneration pills.’
With such a thought in his mind, the god used his energy to wrap around the motionless bodies of the five, before shooting through the sky and flying back in the direction of the Empire’s capital.
