Chapter 331: Kulir V

Among the waves spreading out, a wave of dizziness hit Kulir but the man regained his bearings almost instantly and unleashed an omnidirectional burst powered dark lightning.

Kulir’s dark lightning was generated with the universal laws of darkness and lightning and was far too powerful for Edward to deal with head on so Kulir was sure that was going to take Edward down.

But the boy never intended to deal with it head-on in the first place.

"I was waiting for that!

Damage Counter!"

His shield shimmered with an ethereal light as it the incoming torrent of lightning slammed into it, before abruptly shifting course and returning with renewed intensity towards Kulir himself.

In that same moment, Nicole took action, activating AquaGenesis and conjuring a Tier 4 variant of the Water Magic Spell; Cascade.

A colossal wave of pressurized water surged forward, crackling upon Kulir’s body. The synergy between the water and the reflected lightning dealt a devastating blow to the god, enveloping him in a maelstrom of electrifying elemental energy.

At that same instant, Esna rose her hands as the yellow jewels on her bracelets glowed, a three-ringed magic circle appearing in the air as she called out.

"Arcane Bolt of Severance!"

There was a bright flashing light as a golden bolt of lightning descended from the skies, straight towards Kulir’s head.

However, the god’s arm coated in divinity rose, ’catching’ the bolt and shattering it in his fists.

But by this time, Esna had already activated her other spells.

"Quintuple Casting!"

Five Tier 3 Magic circles appeared around her, each one representing a different elemental force. Her energy flowed into all five of them, unleashing a simultaneous onslaught of offensive magic towards Kulir.

From one circle, fiery infernos erupted, casting waves of intense heat and searing flames towards the malevolent god. Simultaneously, another circle unleashed a barrage of sharp rocks and earthen projectiles, hurtling towards their target with immense force.

A third circle generated gusts of powerful wind, whipping and tearing at the surroundings as it aimed to buffet Kulir’s form. The fourth circle radiated hot blinding beams of light, piercing through the darkness shields the god put up, while the fifth released a surge of holy magic that sought to scorch and obliterate anything in its path.

***KABOOOMM!!!!

The convergence of these five magic spells created a catastrophic explosion of magic power, leaving the air crackling and shimmering with waves of energy.

A violent shockwave tore through the battlefield, reaching those in the capital that was kilometres away, tearing the ground apart and sending debris flying in all directions.

But despite the explosion’s profound impact, and despite the fact that this was a godslayer’s attack, Kulir emerged, his form having been partially shielded from the onslaught.

Even so, he didn’t escape unscathed, as his armour was cracked and singed, and his aura was slightly unsteady.

As the smoke and debris settled, Edward blitzed in with his sword, unleashing a relentless onslaught of slashes in Kulir’s direction, forcing the god to focus on responding instead of tending to his injuries.

He condensed darkness law energy in his palms and created dual swords which he used to block Edward’s slashes. The god countered each of the slashes and flipped horizontally to deliver a sharp supersonic whip-like high kick towards Edward’s head.

In response to this, Edward blocked the kick with his shield and countered it, reflecting both the damage and knockback dealt to it.

The impact sent Edward’s feet dragging across the ground for the next couple dozen metres, while Kulir was sent directly into the air.

He flipped his body to regain his bearings, combining the two swords of darkness mid-air and then swinging them down to meet Nicole’s incoming lance.

**BOOM!!

The two-thousand-year-old god and the teenage devil crashed down onto the ground, cratering the ground beneath them.

Beams of light released a blinding radiance as they shot towards him but a wall of darkness emerged and blocked the light attacks from touching him.

Meanwhile, he continued his battle with his sword against Nicole’s lance, not being given enough time to even conjure up a proper spell as the girl’s lance tip tried to impale his head every few seconds.

Nicole waved her hand and five thin pressurized beams of water flew straight towards him but he blocked it with his darkness.

**RATATATATA!!!!!!

The sound of a gun rang out as a spray of mini railgun bullets was unleashed upon him, coming from his right side.

Kulir sensed the danger and used his superior strength to force Nicole back before kicking off the ground and into the air to avoid the bullets that crashed on the spot where he was an instant ago.

The god soared with swift and agile movements, even faster than before as he evaded the onslaught of electrifying bolts that followed in his wake.

His form was a blur as he twisted and turned, the air crackling with the sonic boom of the speeding projectiles.

Although Layla maintained the storm of bullets, chasing Kulir with relentless determination, the girl was barely keeping the god’s figure in her sights.

What’s more, was that after a few minutes, the gun in her hands was beginning to overheat from continuous fire, and the barrage of bullets she had charged up was running out.

Each shot of the powerful rounds tore through the atmosphere, leaving trails of destruction in their wake, but the god of darkness’s evasive manoeuvres allowed him to dance between the gaps, twisting and turning, narrowly avoiding the path of the incoming bullets.

As for the other three, they could barely launch attacks towards him as his speed was too fast for them to take up proper aim.

The instant Layla reduced her rate of fire, Kulir’s eyes flashed as he erupted with a burst of even greater speed, showcasing the full speed of a Legendary Realm existence as he blitzed in towards the girl faster than she could switch to her bandolier.

However, the second he got within a dozen metres of her, his eyes widened in shock as his limited spatial perception caught onto multiple tiny black dots of ’nothing’ surrounding him.

’She used concealment magic to hide them?!’

**BANG! BANG! BANG! X3

Nine guns fired simultaneously, firing dark icy lasers that tore through the air straight towards his body.

In response, Kulir flipped his body around and summoned his darkness law energy, charging it into wind magic, manipulating the element to spin around himself and cover his form in armour of wind.

**KABOOOMM!!!!

A shockwave rippled outwards from Kulir’s position as the beam collided with his storm mail spell. In an instant, blades of dark-cutting wind erupted from the epicentre of the explosion, slicing through the air with lethal precision.

All the hovering guns Layla had hidden were torn apart, and shattered into twisted fragments of melt as the blades of wind ruthlessly cleaved through them.

The girl would have been caught up by this, but she had long teleported away the instant she saw Kulir cast the Storm Mail spell.

She switched the Mini Railgun out for her sword, filling the weapon with magic power as she unsheathed it and released a single straight slash of her dark aura.

In response, Kulir dispersed the blades of wind and conjured a blade of darkness, swinging it down and sending out a slash that collided with Layla’s.

Esna blinked in beside him, delivering a palm strike to his side and activating several debuffs, along with a Hex of Divine Disruption on him.

She blinked out right after, but even so, when she reappeared a hundred metres away, there was now a long slash wound on her arm and blood was constantly spilling out of it.

Now that Kulir was serious on them, there was no way Esna could escape from him unscathed like before.

’Guh! Delay Magic: Activate!’

The girl gritted her teeth to bear the pain while activating the spells she placed on Kulir, layering all the debuffs at once and bypassing his naturally higher resistance with ease.

Once again, the Hex only managed to hold him for a few seconds before he broke out of it, but many of the elemental damage debuffs she placed on him stuck firmly.

His body weight tripled, his sight in one eye went dim, blood spurted out of his ears, and all his regenerative factors ceased working.

Seeing this, she activated multiple Arcane Bolts of Severance, causing a rain of Third tier lightning to fall from the sky, but Kulir stomped his foot on the ground and summoned multiple columns of earth to collide with the lightning bolts and cancel them out.

"Fifth of Sword!"

Edward’s attack was met with a swift counterattack from Kulir, but his increased body weight had slowed him down, preventing him from being able to react to Nicole’s attack that came next despite the fact he could clearly sense it coming.

**BAAMM!!

The girl teleported in and slammed her lance into his torso, unleashing all her strength into that single swing.
