Chapter 329: Kulir III

Idall tried to get an attack in, but Kulir who had regained his bearings, released a burst of energy to knock him backwards before rapidly drawing in close and striking the god of light with a powerful punch to the fact that sent a few teeth flying out.

Nicole engaged Kulir with her lance but the god grabbed the weapon and overloaded it with dignity, forcing her to let go of it as the energy made her feel like her palm had been set ablaze.

Her reaction gave him the time he needed to deliver a punch aimed at her face, but she just barely dodged it, his fist passing right beside her ear with a massive ’boom’.

’This reaction...’

Kulir noticed her strange reaction and decided to test something out, unclenching his fist and instead grabbing her wing, before flinging her in the direction of Esna’s incoming projectile spell.

He then changed his target to Idall and launched a flurry of attacks, grabbing the light god’s body and beelining straight towards Edward, slamming the two of them together and knocking them to the ground with a resounding crash.

Just then, Kulir sensed a surge of energy and turned his head, only to be met with the sight of Layla swinging down her sword and releasing a massive slash of her dark aura in his direction.

Like a razor-sharp blade, it sliced through the air, causing the ground to tremble as it surged forward. It carved a deep jagged path towards Kulir, containing enough power to divide a mountain in two.

In the face of this incoming attack, Kulir extended a single palm outward with a completely nonchalant demeanour.

Time seemed to slow as his hand made contact with the slash’s relentless force, a surge of divinity crackling through his arm as the impact sent ripples through the air.

He then shattered the slash of darkness as if it was glass, dispersing the aura back into the surroundings.

[Hoh, you’re quite good.]

Undine who was on Kulir’s shoulder because she felt like it, commented on admiration of his energy manipulation abilities, unbeknownst to the god.

Right after, Edward flashed in beside him, his sword crackling with white lightning and aura as he called out his attack.

"Rumbling of Heaven."

His upward arcing slash was dodged by Kulir with a hair’s breadth, but he reversed his grip on his blade and swung it downwards without hesitation.

"Rumbling of Earth!"

In that short moment that the blade descended towards him, Kulir’s pupils darted to the sides and he saw Nicole charging in with her Lance and Idall coming in with a Tier 3 spell.

Divinity burst out from his body and he rose his hands, positioning himself to intercept the impending strike.

**BOOOOOMM!!!

The impact was devastating.

The shockwave that reverberated omnidirectionally upon contact shattered the ground beneath their feet, rippling the landscape and causing the earth to tremble and crack.

A blinding explosion erupted, consuming the immediate vicinity in a blinding display of light as tendrils of lighting swept across the area, obliterating every structure in its path.

Within this display, Kulir who had caught Edward’s sword, enhanced his strength with magic and pulled the human boy off the ground, breaking the effect of the weighted spell Esna placed on him.

He then swung Edward along with his blade in Nicole’s direction.

Following up, he used earth magic to target Esna who was far away, causing a massive fissure to open up under her feet just like she had done to him earlier, but the godslayer girl only teleported out of the way and appeared right beside him.

’I should have learnt that Delay Teleportation Spell!’

That was the single thought that ran through Kulir’s mind as his perception capture Esna’s presence materializing behind him, with the girl throwing out a palm towards his back once more.

’Hex of Divine Disruption!’

Esna activated the same spell she used on Gilbalar, intending to seal Kulir’s divinity.

The god of darkness suddenly felt his energy circuits heat up unbearably as his divinity coursed through them, eliciting a dark expression from him.

**BOOM!!

A burst of darkness law energy was released from his body, knocking Esna backwards and breaking the Hex she placed him.

He coalesced the energy around his fist and threw out a punch that collided with Idall’s fist, the energies of light and darkness tossing and turning at each other like massive waves.

The two gods took matters to the skies, engaging in a supersonic aerial fistfight, their forms appearing to be streaks of white and black light shooting through the skies and into the distance.

Idall got in a hit that sent Kulir flying towards the ground, with the god of light following after and condensing law energy around his fist.

He then punched the empty air in front of him, creating light energy shockwaves and sending them flying towards Kulir who hurriedly flipped his body to dodge the shockwaves that crashed onto the ground and cratered it.

Before he could counterattack, his senses screamed at him and he hurriedly bent his body to dodge, narrowly avoiding the ray of electrifying destruction that emerged from Layla’s railgun.

’That weapon has to go!’

Just as he thought that, Layla fired another shot from the weapon, and Kulir instantly leapt out of the way to avoid getting hit.

"Oh no you don’t!"

Esna’s voice rang out as a giant earthen arm construct emerged from the ground beneath him, grabbing onto his body and tossing him back into the trajectory of the bullet.

Edward followed up, his sword glowing with white lightning as he released a towards him. Simultaneously, Nicole used Earth magic to hold his feet to the ground and keep him in place.

"Just because I moved to Dodge doesn’t mean I can’t deal with it."

As he spoke, he released a burst of energy to destroy Nicole’s restraints, and then stomped his foot on the ground, summoning multiple star-shaped columns of earth that rose up to block Edward’s slash.

And then for the railgun bullet, he condensed a ball of darkness law energy and divinity before tossing it straight towards the bullet that was only five metres away from him.

Brilliant sparks erupted as the two collided, unleashing an explosion of raw power that sent shockwaves rippling through the surrounding space.

The bullet’s energy was dispersed amid this chaotic scene, engulfed by the darkness and disintegrated into fragments; its luminous trail extinguished in a blaze.

However, another railgun bullet suddenly burst through the flames with unstoppable velocity, crackling with dark tendrils of energy that made Kulir feel a lethal threat from it.

’This one is different!’

He made the split-second decision to dodge this bullet instead, his reflexes kicking in with lightning speed. He narrowly avoided the path of the projectile, the mere graze of it brushing past his nose and sending a spray of blood across his upper face.

Immediately after, he spun around and dashed straight towards Layla, reaching her faster than the Railgun could charge up and forcing her to switch it out for her bayonet.

She thrust the blade at the tip forward, intending to pierce his chest but the layer of universal law energy that surrounded his body like a second skin blocked it.

*RATATATATA!!!

The girl pulled the trigger without hesitation, firing multiple shots that ’shattered’ his defensive layer and knocked him back.

Idall flashed in, ready to seize Kulir’s head, but the malevolent god erupted with a sudden burst of speed, deftly manoeuvring around the god of light. Kulir then struck Idall with a powerful divinity-enhanced punch, compelling his form to descend forcefully towards the ground.

The next instant, Kulir’s body suddenly sunk into his shadow, avoiding Layla’s horizontal slash and remerging behind the girl and stretching his hand out.

She tried to twist her body to avoid his hand but it was futile. He grabbed the back of her head and slammed her forward, down onto the ground with enough force to crater it.

He then delivered a kick to her torso that sent her flying into the air, blitzing after to catch up with her and delivering a divinity-enhanced punch that send her crashing back down into the ground.

"AARGH!!"

**BOOMM!!!

Her reaction upon being hit with his fist was enough for Kulir to confirm a conjecture of his.

’Those two with wings. They’re weak to divinity.’

As he thought that, his pupils darted to the side and he shifted his body, using a footwork technique to weave through the rain of light spears that descended from above.

The ground cracked open and a pillar of water shot out like a geyser, slamming into him and sending him flying into the air.

Following up, Nicole, rose her short lance as streams of water gathered around it, enhancing its strength.

She then launched the lance towards the airborne Kulir with her full strength after using body-strengthening magic on herself.

*BOOM!! *WHOOSHH!!
