Chapter 309: Off to Gade
"Time Splitting sword, huh?"
"I took inspiration from you. You did something similar to one Asura during your final battle."
The boy spoke up in reply to the words of the man who suddenly appeared behind him, snapping his fingers and generating another earthen platform for him to sit on.
"An Asura? Come to think of it, I may have done something like that. Still, that was a bit risky, attacking the past from the present isn’t exactly ’Basic’ level Time Manipulation.
Plus, you have zero comprehension of the law of knowledge, yet you interfered in the records of the world.
And you did so using Null too. I’m amazed Lostvayne even your energy of time flow through it."
"I know my limitations. And I saw that it was feasible, so I did it."
As Arthur replied to Lucifer, he turned to look at the man, scanning his new Homunculus body with his law energy infused into his eyes.
"It does not look much different."
"There’s not much visual difference, but trust me when I say there’s a world of difference."
"Your powe-!! Wait a sec! Did you regenerate your soul?!"
The young progenitor exclaimed in shock when he infused cosmic energy into his eyes and noticed that Lucifer’s soul seemed a lot more ’complete’.
This was something that Cattleya and Creusery had not even noticed, and Diablo too because the latter hadn’t actually seen Lucifer in the Homunculus’s body given that he left right after it was completed.
But he would instantly realise this the instant he looked at Lucifer with Cosmic energy-infused vision.
"Let’s just say I had a little encounter that allowed me to recover a shard of my broken soul."
"Does that mean you would not fade away anymore?"
"Not exactly.
My soul, although augmented, still has a ’lifespan’ attached to it."
"Lifespan? Is it even possible for Cosmic Beings to possess a lifespan?"
Lucifer shook his head slightly while twirling around a ring of cosmic energy on his finger as he replied.
"Most of the time, No.
But my case is quite special, so it’s gonna take a while before I reach the level where I wouldn’t have a lifespan anymore."
"What Realm?"
"At least Sage, Supreme at most."
"Sage? How high is tha-Nevermind. I don’t wanna discourage myself.
Just knowing about Primogenials and Phanstasmals is already quite discouraging."
"Pfftt..."
The Devil King laughed upon seeing the look of slight exasperation that appeared on Arthur’s face when he mentioned Primogenials. If only the boy knew the current Lucifer was higher than that.
"So, what are you going to do next?"
In response to Lucifer’s question, Arthur pulled out the cosmic teleporter from his subspace and snapped it onto his arm.
"I’m going to see Layla and Nicole’s group next. I have their coordinates, courtesy of Uncle Creusery."
He spoke as he tapped a few things and turned around the cosmic magic circles that appeared around it, inputting the spatial coordinates for the Planet Gade.
"You know not to use up the energy inside it now, right?"
"I know.
I’ve already found a place with suitable energy concentration on this planet. I’d use the ambient energies there to power it."
"I see.
On a side note, your mother has finally granted you permission."
"For real?!"
"Yes, she went off to deal with the fool who colluded with these demigods. But she expressed her tacit approval for you going off."
"Finally!"
Arthur fist pumped with a smile when he heard his mother finally allowed him to leave the Hell universe, figuring that his newly acquired Pseudo Authority may have played a major part in this decision.
"So, I guess this is bye for now."
"Yeah. I’d be back in a year or so."
Hearing Arthur say he’d be back in a year, Lucifer rose an eyebrow in light confusion as he alternated his gaze between the Cosmic Teleporter and the boy’s face.
"A year? Oh, right. It would be a year."
"...Is there some time difference between this universe and the Valmone Universe I don’t know of?"
"I neither affirm nor deny that.
Figure it out yourself, it’s part of the experience."
Leaving those words, Lucifer’s body was wreathed in a spatial light and he teleported back directly into the domain.
"I have to use that Law of Knowledge crystal and start comprehending the law if I want to use the Chronoslash again."
[But didn’t you say you were not gonna use it again?]
"Just in case, okay. IN CASE!"
[Sure, keep telling yourself that.]
Celestia only remarked from inside Arthur’s subspace, one of his tabs floating in front of the blade while a video played on it.
Arthur’s Chronoslash was something that utilized the powers of three laws; Time, Destruction and Knowledge.
The last one was required to access the world’s records of the past which he then uses the power of time to generate the projected record and interfere with it. Destruction was simply just there to deal more damage with the attack.
"Today’s date is... 19th of October, huh?"
The sixteen-year-old sat in the middle of the pile of corpses while as a thought one would least expect in such a situation came into his head.
’When the calendar was made, how did the dude who made it know what day of the week it was when he did?’
Putting a hand to his chin, he pondered on it seriously for a good five minutes before discarding those thoughts altogether.
"Not like that’s useful to me.
What’s useful however is that my birthday is in about 2 months’ time."
He pulled out his academy-issued watch and looked at it before turning his gaze toward the 12 dead Epic realm demigods around him.
"Varona is a large realm, one with multiple galaxies within it.
Even I did not know where I was going to end up when I entered through the gate, yet these guys were able to accurately pinpoint my location.
The only thing I have on me that can serve as a beacon is my academy-issued watch. It has an inbuilt tracker that shows the academy the locations of all the students.
If they were able to find me with it, which means that there is a traitor in the academy, one who has access to the student database that allows them to view the locations of every student with an academy-issued watch on.
A Director."
He took off the watch and attempted to crush it in his palm but it did not break.
[Null]
He then spoke one word, activating his ’Annihilation’ and a reddish light flashed in his palm. When he opened it up, there was nothing inside it anymore.
He then stood up and tapped the necklace on his neck before speaking to himself.
"Now, time to find Layla and give her the other one before I leave this universe for the first time."
He then crouched before jumping off into the distance with enough force to collapse the earth underneath his feet.
