Chapter 249: Family Reunion?

"I’m telling you, no matter how much of a genius I am, it’s simply impossible for me to be able to create a subspace within days of learning the power of space!"

"And I’m telling you that you can!"

"And ’I’ am telling you that ’I’ cannot!!"

Such was the strange argument going on between a young progenitor and his great-grandfather’s vestige within an isolated space somewhere in the Varona realm.

"For the sake of all that is right and just, you’re being too unreasonable with your demands.

At least allow me to stabilize what I’ve managed to learn from the law of space first."

"And I’m telling you that if you make the subspace now, it would ’stabilize’ along with your spatial comprehensions, killing two birds with one stone!"

It was a strange sight as once could see the Devil King’s vestige trying to force the young progenitor to absorb a memory gem, with the boy trying his best to stop this from happening, all while twisting around a weird elastic band of spatial essence.

All of a sudden, Lucifer’s vestige suddenly had his eyebrows twitch repeatedly as he forced the memory crystal into Arthur’s hands and turned his gaze towards the empty space on his right.

[Authority of Space.]

He activated an authority as he stretched out his right hand, clenching his fist and forming a giant deep purple four-dimensional cuboid with the law of space’s power.

Right after, he held up his left hand and made a grabbing motion in the air, before turning around and dragging his left hand across the empty space.

Following his left hand’s movements, smaller light purple cubes consecutively spawned in a line all the way until he had turned in the opposite direction, forming a semi-circle with the plethora of spatial cubes.

"Haa..."

He heaved a sigh of relief after doing this, before proceeding to absorb ambient cosmic energy into his body.

However, the moment he lowered his hands and deactivated his authority, the large deep purple cuboid cracked loudly, with his expression turning into one of anger as he screamed out.

"Why?! I literally just redirected you towards the front door!!

It’s a lot faster and more efficient!!"

Arthur couldn’t help but take a step back as this was the first time that he saw the vestige truly angry, summoning a cosmic energy coat to cover his body and protect him from the waves of energy that the vestige was emitting in rage.

Unfortunately, the source of the vestige’s annoyance didn’t seem to care for his words, carrying on with their actions that shattered the deep purple cuboid into shards of light.

Next, two fair slender arms coated in destructive energy punched through the space where the cuboid once was, before grabbing the space around and ripping it apart like it was a piece of cardboard paper.

The next moment right after the space was ripped apart, Arthur suddenly found himself held tightly within a familiar set of arms, heaving a sigh of exasperation as he finally understood just what was happening.

He returned the hug of the one embracing him, patting their back multiple times as if to assure them that everything was okay.

While the mother and son were hugging each other tightly, the voice of the young progenitor’s uncle rang out as he walked in through the crack in the space.

"Hold on a moment...I recognize this place."

"You do?"

Before Creusery could reply to Inglis’ question, a reply came from the very displeased devil king’s vestige who was sitting on the ground, holding his chin up with his palm.

"Of course, you do.

You nearly died the last time you were here; it’d be weirder if you didn’t recognize it."

Both Creusery and Inglis were shocked upon hearing his voice as they hadn’t sensed the presence of the vestige until he had spoken.

"Can you come through already?

The longer that hole stays open the faster the space crumbles.

Do you have any idea how much energy it’s going to take to repair this space while keeping its time dilation effect?"

His words caused the Devildom’s crown prince to look at the edges of the tear in space he had come through and see that cracks had indeed begun spreading from there.

"Oh."

[Authority of Space.]

The red haired Devilian crown prince roused his energies and activated his authority of space, before tapping the space with his finger.

The cracks spreading out stopped, then began receding until there weren’t any cracks anymore. Next, the huge tear in the space slowly began closing up until it looked like nothing had ever happened, visually at least.

"Are you flexing on me?"

Lucifer’s vestige asked that question with narrowed eyes as he stared at the slightly confused Creusery, sighing in exhaustion before turning towards the place where the tear was and saying.

"Impressive, you actually managed to deal with half of the problem."

He then got to his feet and activated two different authorities that felt both familiar and unfamiliar to Creusery

[Dual Aspectual Authority Activation: Space and Time.]

Cosmic energy condensed around his arm as he got to finishing the repairs in the space, while turning his gaze towards the entrance area where a certain Akashic Record holding Devil King walked in through.

Narrowing his eyes, he asked.

"You didn’t destroy the guards I placed there, did you?"

"Well...one of them did attack me the moment I stepped foot in through the door so you have one less high deity golem now."

Lucifer’s vestige sighed in exasperation as he heard Diablo’s reply, voicing out a question right after.

"I don’t know whether to be surprised at the fact that you can kill a high-tier deity so fast or the part where you did it without dealing any damage to the surrounding areas."

Diablo only shrugged his shoulders before walking up to the seat Lucifer was on before and sitting down calmly, placing the Akashic record on the table.

As for the Vestige, he had finished repairing the isolated space and plopped himself down on another chair created with his authority of creation, sighing in exhaustion before turning towards Diablo once more.

"Twelve thousand years and you finally found the time to come and visit me, I feel flattered."

"You’re not him...stop acting like you are."

Before the vestige could even say anything in response to Diablo’s reply, Arthur, who had finally managed to partially escape Cattleya’s tight hug, spoke up to correct him.

"You’re actually wrong there, grandpa.

The Lucifer you knew and this guy are basically the same person.

Or rather, this guy is a piece of the Lucifer that you knew. A small piece, but still part of the original nonetheless.

He probably didn’t let you notice just so he could get a reaction out of you. He has a very nasty personality, but I guess you’d already know that."

The boy then went back to dealing with his mother, leaving there of the remaining four people in the room at a loss for words.

"You heard the kid."

Lucifer only shrugged his shoulders and spoke nonchalantly, before carrying on his actions of subtly absorbing cosmic energy from the surroundings, something that the Devil King seated a few metres away from him didn’t fail to notice.

"You...!"

"Why so surprised? I’m just a fragmented piece, how did you think that I was able to last this long?"
