Chapter 248: Cattleya Awakens
"I must say this is quite the contraption that your mother has created, being able to send out pulses of energy over a distance spanning hundreds of millions of light years with little breaks and loss of signal integrity."
As he spoke, he casually tore a line in space, ripping it open to reveal a dark void that Arthur just barely managed to cover his body with cosmic energy, just in time to prevent the sudden influx of concentrated cosmic energy from slamming into him.
"Hmm...your reaction was a bit late.
Work on that."
Apparently, Lucifer had not given him a forewarning because he intended for it to be a part of Arthur’s energy manipulation speed training.
"This ’tracker’ she placed in your body has her energy stored within it and it occasionally sends out pulses of that energy towards her main body at regular intervals, kinda like a radar."
"I honestly do not understand the specifics and I don’t think I can understand it anytime soon."
"This kid...just give me any magic stone you have on you."
Arthur passed a magic stone from his spatial ring to Lucifer, who crushed it in his palm and let the energy within it flow into the small tear in space in front of him.
"...
Seems like it works. Now, we wait ten minutes."
"Why ten minutes?"
"Because that’s when your tracker would send out its next signal pulse."
"You figured it out?"
"It wasn’t too difficult to understand its working process."
The Devil King’s vestige shrugged his shoulders and took a seat, propping his chin up his palm as he watched Arthur try to maintain his cosmic energy coat.
"It’s part of your training."
He shot down the boy’s question before he could even ask, returning the two to a silence that lasted not ten, but twenty minutes.
"It would be better if she senses two of the signals coming from the same place. It would help her confirm that you are not in motion.
I also messed with them so the second signal moves faster than the first, making it so that she would receive the two signals at shorter intervals."
"Oh...that makes sense."
"Of course, it does."
Lucifer replied as he closed up the tear in space and turned to Arthur before tossing the boy another weird elastic band made with the energy of the law of space.
"Alright, back to work."
"Sir, yes, sir."

Grand Duchess of the Devildom of Hell, Inglis Leviathan, ran her hand through the hair of her unconscious daughter as she muttered to herself.
"It’s been a week already."
"Exactly.
Seven days and Leya hasn’t woken up."
The voice of her daughter’s half-brother from another mother rang out in response to her mutter as he warped into the room with a worried look on his face.
It had been seven days since the archdevil of destruction was put to sleep by her mother and she hadn’t shown any signs of waking up.
Even the normally calm Creusery had begun to get worried as this wasn’t what he was told at all.
"Serenitatem is a spell that is supposed to forcefully calm down its target’s state of mind.
The fact that she hasn’t woken up yet..."
"...means that her state of mind still isn’t calm."
Inglis nodded in affirmation to Creusery’s words as she turned her gaze towards an empty spot in the room, moments before a familiar-looking silver-haired devil warped into the room.
"So... I have succeeded in-"
"Arthur!!"
The silver-haired devil couldn’t even finish his words when his daughter who had been unconscious for the past seven days suddenly shot up and screamed out her son’s name.
Ignoring the shocked looks that her parents and brother gave her and pulled out a device from her subspace, fiddling with it for a few moments before suddenly encasing her arm in the law of space and attempting teleportation.
"Hold your horses."
However, her mother abruptly grabbed her hand and forcefully dispelled the energy around her arm, preventing her from going wherever she wanted to.
Cattleya turned around with surprised eyes, as if she was just registering the presence of other people in the room she was in.
A look of remembrance then flashed through her eyes as she remembered the circumstances that led to her getting here in the first place.
"...I was supposed to be on Lonope."
"Yeah, you were.
You were also about to kill an innocent man so I stopped you before you did."
"Oh...that."
The silver-haired arch-devil responded with a tone that showed she could not really care less if she killed that director or not, causing her brother to heave a sigh of exasperation.
"Wait...that doesn’t matter.
I found where Arthur is, I’m going over now.
Whatever you guys have to say can wait."
Cattleya’s red eyes trembled lightly as she spoke, activating her spatial authority as she once again tried to teleport out of the room and directly to the coordinates that she had just sensed.
"Hold on, Leya.
Mind telling us how you discovered this while you were unconscious?"
This time, Creusery used his superior proficiency in the law of space to prevent her teleportation as he asked her a question that they all wanted answers to.
However, Cattleya wasn’t too pleased with his actions as she turned towards him and gave him a death glare that made him feel chills down his spine.
"There, there, Leya.
Calm down, okay?
We just want to know how you found out so we can be sure you’re going to the right place."
Inglis instantly took action to calm her daughter, with visible success as the archdevil’s killing intent dissipated almost instantly.
"I placed a tracker in Arthur’s body, that’s how I found out.
The tracker came back online a few moments ago and sent me his location, so that’s how I kn-!"
Cattleya’s body suddenly jerked mid-statement, with her eyes widening in surprise as she pulled out a device from her subspace.
"Anything wrong?"
"This doesn’t make any sense...the intervals aren’t supposed to be this short."
Just as she was saying that to herself, her expression turned dark as a wave of destructive energy burst out from her body.
"Dammit, it’s offline again!!"
This time she didn’t wait for anyone’s words, using her destructive energy to shatter Creusery’s dimensional lock and teleporting right out of the room a mere millisecond later.
"And there she goes."
The voice of the fourth person in the room who had been silent since Cattleya woke up rang out right after she left, earning his two timed glares from both Inglis and Creusery.
"Just follow the traces of her teleportation, she didn’t bother erasing them."

"I’m telling you, no matter how much of a genius I am, it’s simply impossible for me to be able to create a subspace within days of learning the power of space!"
"And I’m telling you that you can!"
"And ’I’ am telling you that ’I’ cannot!!"
