Chapter 246: Training Spar VI
’A sword slash with the law of extinction?!’
Before he could complete his analysis of the slash, he heard the same sound again and looked up to see multiple irregular lines of silver light cutting through the smoke and heading in his direction.
He stretched out his hand and generated a sword with cosmic energy, raising it up and surrounding it with the law of extinction’s essence.
’To think he isn’t down for the count after releasing such an attack.’
Those were his thoughts as he used his blade to block the slashes of extinction energy that Arthur was sending his way.
Mid-swing, he saw a figure burst through the cloud of smoke and head towards him, moving in the gaps in between slashes as it closed in.
’Show me more kid.’
Lucifer instantly coated his left hand in cosmic energy and rose it to block the last slash, before raising his sword and swinging it in the direction of the incoming figure.
**CLANGG!!!
The sound of two metal blades hitting each other rang out as his sword met with Celestia, however, to his surprise, its wielder wasn’t holding it.
His gaze turned downward as he saw Arthur deliver a low kick aimed at his knee.
The devil king pulled his leg back to avoid the kick, before coating his leg in energy and sending it back out for a kick of his own.
Arthur casually rose his arm and blocked the attack, while Celestia engaged Lucifer’s sword arm in battle, using Arthur’s sword techniques and strengthening them with ambient cosmic energy.
The young progenitor got up from the ground and applied the law of gravity’s power on his body, sending out a punch that distorted the air around his fist to lucifer’s face.
Since one of Lucifer’s arms was busy with Celestia, the devil king’s vestige had no choice but to only use one arm to block off Arthur’s rapid punches.
The young progenitor augmented the gravity in a way that it simultaneously increased the weight of his fists, making the punches deal more damage while decreasing the weight of it, making the punches faster.
Each one of the punches was as always, filled with the law of destruction’s energy that was ready to explode on contact.
"Give me some space."
"How about, no?"
Lucifer chuckled upon hearing Arthur’s reply to his words before shooting back.
"I wasn’t asking."
**BOOMM!
A burst of cosmic energy was released from Lucifer’s body, sending both Arthur and Celestia flying in the air.
The boy used the law of gravity to control his fall while stretching out his hand to pull Celestia into it.
As soon as he grabbed the sword, he spun around and delivered a long slash with the power of the law of extinction, before switching to aura and unleashing a sword of victory.
The wave of aura crashed against the wave of cosmic energy, ultimately losing out as the difference in quality between the two energies was like heaven and earth.
However, Arthur only did that to buy time for himself to get into a proper stance, before dashing forward to meet with lucifer’s incoming destructive energy slashes.
He weaved through the attacks like he was dancing, dodging each slash by a hair’s breadth as he arrived in front of the devil king and swing his sword towards him.
Ambient cosmic energy was pulled into the slash, strengthening the effects of the extinction essence inside the blade as it tore through the air and reached for Lucifer’s neck.
**CLANGG!!!
Unfortunately, at the last moment, a sword appeared right in front of the vestige’s neck and blocked Arthur’s sword, something that the young boy had expected.
He instantly pulled the blade back and attacked again, swinging his sword rapidly. By decreasing the gravity acting on his arm and sword, it greatly increased the speed of the swings.
Lucifer retaliated, using his own limited base speed to match the speed of Arthur’s swings and deflect each and every one of them with his cosmic energy-crafted sword.
The devil king’s vestige didn’t just defend, but also threw in his own attacks, while sometimes taking advantage of the gaps created by Arthur’s attack to inflict wounds on the boy’s body.
He covered his weapon with destruction energy and swung at a speed that would make sound seem slow, however, Arthur quickly turned his body in the direction of the attack and guarded against it, simultaneously taking advantage of the opening to attack immediately and inflict a wound on his opponent.
It was then that Arthur’s ears heard the sound of Lucifer’s swing, with the sound of his counterattack coming in a beat later.
"Hey, I just did that to you and you’re quickly using it against me."
Lucifer remarked as delivered three rapid strikes to Arthur’s head, abdomen and back of his knees all in one fluid movement.
The young progenitor managed to block the first two, but the force behind them left his hands numb and he was not fast enough to block the third.
Lucifer backed away and took a stance with his sword raised overhead, gazing at Arthur as he asked.
"Can you learn this like you did my other techniques?’
Arthur only gazed back at him in silence as he accelerated the healing process of the cut on the back of his knee, before roughly wiping off the silver blood that spilt out of it onto the ground.
"Let’s start from the weakest technique in the ’Split Series’.
First Split: Mountain Split."
The essence of the law of destruction coalesced around the sword as Lucifer performed a powerful downward slash while stepping forward.
**BOOOOM!!!!
The entire room shook and the walls cracked again, with the cracks spreading out faster than the wall’s recovery could keep up.
For Arthur, the only way he could describe the technique was as powerful as a giant wave. All he saw was Lucifer’s sword swinging downwards, before a wave of destructive aura crashed into his body faster than he could react.
"Hmm? It seems that teaching you the ’Split Series’ is gonna have to wait for a while, huh?"
Lucifer calmly remarked as he withdrew all the energy in the attack back into his body, while absorbing some of the ambient cosmic energy to silently reconstruct his fading body.
With the source of the destruction gone, the room’s recovery kicked in and all the cracks around the room disappeared, including the huge three hundred metred deep holes on the ground, as well as the large hundred-metre wide and dozens of metres deep crater on the wall where Arthur’s body was plastered into.
The young progenitor fell on the ground and coughed out silver blood as more blood seeped out the long slash wound stretching from his shoulder to his waist.
[Master?!]
Celestia’s worried voice rang out but Arthur could barely hear over the loud ringing noises in his ears.
Despite the fact that his body’s healing factor had increased to new heights after awakening as a sub-cosmic being, the wound on his body showed no signs of healing at all.
After all, his healing factor was currently battling with the destruction sword energy that threatened to spread across his body.
"Sorry about this."
Lucifer placed a hand on Arthur’s wound and pulled the destructive sword energies out of it, allowing the boy’s healing to finally kick in.
"Well, Let’s end it here for today, your energy is pretty much drained out."
Those were the last words Arthur heard before he lost consciousness.
