Chapter 16: Chapter 16
"He suppressed the Resentment Spring."
"And he took the Demonic Lotus."
Three heads swiveled toward Soren as one.
"Him? He looks familiar."
"Isn’t that Vorian’s trash son? Soren?"
"Oh, that coward, bullied since childhood and never once dared to fight back, never even talked back."
"Didn’t I hear he was cut off by Vorian? And the hundred thousand legionnaires he’d been given were all taken back?"
"And Soren suppressed the Resentment Spring? Soren took the World-Destroying Demonic Lotus?"
"Fairy, you must be having fun with the three of us, yes?"
The three were slow on the uptake, trading bursts of baffled laughter.
In the very next second, a violent surge of demonic energy swept over them.
One of the Upper-Tier Demon Venerables was torn to shreds where he stood.
The other two howled in agony.
Victoria’s blood-red eyes blinked, she intervened at once, easing their pain, dispersing the terrifying demonic pressure around them with a single finger.
The two survivors came back to themselves and stared at the spot where their companion had just died, their hearts slammed against their ribs like war drums.
"Soren... are you tired of living?"
"You dare attack us in front of our Fairy Great Demon Emperor!"
At this moment, Soren feared Victoria not at all. If he suffered a killing blow, the World-Destroying Demonic Lotus would detonate on its own.
He grinned, and the grin was ugly. "Those who insult me, I kill at my pleasure."
"If the King of Heaven himself stood in my way, I’d cut him down all the same."
The two Demon Venerables shrank back, necks retracting, throats stopped up as if with iron rods, not a word came out.
All they could do was pin their hopes on Victoria, Soren’s move was an open slap across her face, and her temper was famous.
There was no way she’d let him walk away from this.
And just as the two stood there gloating, waiting to watch Soren be crippled, Victoria said, "It was my failure to discipline my subordinates."
"However..."
"Killing my people right in front of me, should I take that to mean you don’t consider me worth respecting at all?"
"Don’t you owe me an explanation?"
Soren smiled, thoroughly unimpressed, then he channeled his demonic energy.
The World-Destroying Demonic Lotus sealed in his palm came free.
In moments it swelled to a meter across, hovering above his hand, turning in silence. Within every purple-black petal slept a violence fit to unmake heaven and earth.
At its appearance, Victoria’s willow brows drew together, the two Upper-Tier Demon Venerables simply stopped functioning.
"This is my explanation, get lost, or die."
In truth, Victoria was wary of the lotus detonating, detonation meant dying together.
But she also judged that things hadn’t reached that point, and she had not grown into what she was by scaring easily.
Her red lips curved into a cold sneer, she folded her jade-white arms and regarded him with open interest.
"Soren. Are you threatening me? You should know that being threatened is the thing I hate most in this world."
"The feeling is mutual."
"Your nerve makes me look at you in a new light, quite different from the rumors. But tell me, are you truly ready to die together with me?"
Soren lifted the World-Destroying Demonic Lotus, his body flowed like a swimming dragon, leaving a trail of braided purple and black across the air.
In the next second, he was standing directly behind Victoria.
Victoria tracked his movement with perfect clarity, she didn’t move.
It was the two Upper-Tier Demon Venerables who startled, scrambling backward, mouths twitching as they glared at him.
"Soren, what do you think you’re doing!"
"Get away from our Fairy this instant!"
"Or don’t blame us for... for..."
There was, it dawned on them, nothing they could actually do about it, the two obediently shut their mouths.
Victoria kept the faint, cold sneer on her face, she turned her beautiful profile slightly, watching him from the corner of her eye.
Soren held the demonic lotus in one hand, his other hand came to rest on her smooth, fragrant shoulder.
At his touch, Victoria’s body gave a small tremble, her voice turned sharp. "No one has ever dared to lay a hand on my shoulder!"
"Remove it. Now!"
Soren could feel the shame and fury radiating off her, and he didn’t answer, his goal was to find the method to conquer Victoria as fast as possible, because the World-Destroying Demonic Lotus could never actually be detonated.
The Strategy Encyclopedia unfurled everything about her, image on the left, information on the right.
His consciousness only skimmed it, but a few conspicuous stats snagged his attention.
Victoria’s figure was unreal, every measurement, top-tier, and most critically, she was actually a G-cup.
Dual cultivation partners: zero, sessions: zero.
No wonder one hand on the shoulder nearly gave her a heart attack, she was a career woman, all cultivation, no romance.
Then again, a thorn-covered demoness who killed without blinking, with Upper-Tier Demon Emperor strength on top of it, looks and figure aside, what man alive would dare confess to her?
His stifled laugh did not escape Victoria, her cold brows knitted, shame and anger tangling in her chest. "What... what are you laughing at?"
Soren didn’t waste breath on her, he looked down at the strategy the panel provided, and went blank.
This joke isn’t funny, are you absolutely sure she won’t just end me at any cost?
[As ruler of the Violet Jade Immortal Domain, Victoria possesses formidable strength, kills without hesitation, carries deep combat experience, and rarely meets her match.]
[She is proud and fiercely competitive, with zero romantic experience. She enjoys tormenting opponents for sport, yet a tender, vulnerable side survives deep in her heart.]
[Victoria is a rose bristling with thorns. The thorns are only the weapons she guards herself with. To possess her, do not waste effort plucking thorns. Pluck the flower.]
[Be domineering. Force your way into her heart, and Victoria will become obsessed, devoted to you beyond all reason.]
Isn’t this just a creative way to get myself killed? This is Victoria, the woman entire Great Demon Emperors tiptoe around.
Is this strategy reliable? Because if it isn’t, I am extremely dead.
But if he didn’t conquer Victoria, walking away today would be hard enough, and she would be a colossal headache forever after.
