Chapter 530: Chapter 409: Ancient Amber and Legendary Mage "Star" Delin

"I’ve had my people acquire hundreds of amber pieces recently," Lillian said, "and these three felt the most special."

Without a doubt, all three of these were genuine Ancient Amber.

Especially the largest one—a dark red piece of amber that appeared empty inside. The mystery it held far surpassed the other two.

"Lillian, you’ve done me a huge favor this time."

Raylo said, looking at his sister with genuine gratitude.

"Heh, of course! You have to remember who you’re dealing with!"

Lillian puffed out her chest proudly, like a little peacock.

"Alright, now that we have what we need, we shouldn’t delay."

Raylo said.

"We’re leaving for the Black Stone Mountain Range now."

"Now?"

"That’s right. Right now."

Raylo said.

"Great! I’ll go get ready right away!"

Lillian was a woman of action. She immediately turned and ran out of the study.

「Moments later, in the courtyard of Amber Castle.」

Raylo and Avril once again climbed onto Baofeng’s back.

Meanwhile, Lillian appeared on the other side, astride her own mount.

Raylo’s eyes lit up.

It was a griffin nearly as large as Baofeng, its entire body covered in resplendent golden feathers.

Its gaze was sharp, and the aura of power it exuded far surpassed that of an ordinary griffin, having reached an entirely new level.

A Golden Feathered Griffin King!

This was the very same Golden Feathered Griffin that Raylo had gifted to Lillian.

Just a few days prior, it had finally seized its chance for a breakthrough.

With the help of the Dragon Thorn Fruit from Raylo and a massive supply of Magic Potions that Avril provided regardless of cost, it had successfully shattered the shackles of its bloodline, transforming from an ordinary Golden Feathered Griffin into a King-level Griffin.

"So? My Goldfeather is magnificent, isn’t he!"

Lillian said proudly, patting the Griffin King’s neck.

"He’s certainly impressive."

Raylo smiled and nodded.

"Alright, enough chatter. Let’s move out!"

At Raylo’s command, the two mighty Griffin Kings let out a piercing cry in unison. With a single beat of their wings, they kicked up two gales of wind and shot into the sky.

They transformed into two streaks of light—one yellow, one gold—that tore across the sky, racing toward the endless black mountain range in the distance.

「Several hours later, the sun had set and the sky was full of stars.」

A radiant moon hung high in the sky, casting its cool, clear light across the land.

Under the moonlight, the Black Stone Mountain Range resembled a colossal black dragon lying in wait, its body coiling and winding without end.

The range’s silhouette stood out sharply against the night sky. Sheer, blade-like cliffs and deep valleys cloaked in ancient forests wove together into a tapestry of primal mystery.

Two streaks of light, one yellow and one gold, flew at high speed along the mountain’s spine, like meteors streaking through the night.

The two griffins flew neck and neck. With every beat of their powerful wings, a low whistle echoed through the air.

"Brother, how much longer do we have to fly?"

Lillian’s voice was distorted by the wind.

She lay flat against the Golden Feathered Griffin King’s back, gazing down at the seemingly endless mountain peaks below as she asked her question.

"We’re almost there."

"It’s on the highest peak, right up ahead."

He looked up, gazing ahead.

In the distance, a majestic peak thrust into the clouds like a sharp sword.

It towered over the surrounding peaks, its summit perpetually covered in snow that shimmered with a cold light under the moon.

That was the highest peak of the Black Stone Mountain Range, a place known by the locals as Black Stone Peak.

After several more hours of flight, just as the eastern horizon began to pale with the first light of dawn, they finally arrived at their destination.

The closer they got to the summit, the thinner and colder the air became.

Lillian couldn’t help but shiver. A faint Flame Cloak materialized around her, warding off the biting cold.

Baofeng and the Golden Feathered Griffin King slowly landed on a relatively flat patch of snow.

The three of them hopped down from the griffins’ backs, their feet crunching in the thick snow.

As far as the eye could see, the entire mountaintop was draped in silver.

A biting wind cut like a knife.

At the very top of the blade-like peak stood a structure built from massive, unworked blocks of black stone. It was a stark and conspicuous sight.

It was an Observatory.

The Observatory’s structure was simple: a massive, circular stone platform. It had no surrounding walls or shelter, only a few pillars carved from the same giant stones, which supported a high, domed roof.

The entire structure radiated an ancient, rugged air, as if it had stood there for millennia.

"This is the place," Raylo said, looking at the Observatory.

Without hesitation, the three of them braved the bone-chilling wind and trudged through the deep snow toward the Observatory.

The moment they set foot on the Observatory’s stone steps, the biting chill miraculously vanished.

A warm presence enveloped them, as if they had stepped into a pocket of warm spring, completely cut off from the outside world.

An invisible Magic Barrier enveloped the entire Observatory.

The trio ascended the steps and soon reached the top of the Observatory.

Sure enough, they saw a familiar figure.

A white-bearded old man stood at the edge of the Observatory, his back to them, gazing up at the star-dusted heavens.

He wore a simple, gray robe. His frame was thin, but his posture was remarkably straight, as if he were one with the world around him.

Hearing the footsteps behind him, the old man slowly turned around.

His face was a roadmap of wrinkles, etched by time, but his eyes were as bright as the night sky itself.

It was the same old man they had met at Amber Lake—the one who claimed to be fishing for dragons.

"Young man, we meet again."

The old man’s voice was gentle and held a hint of a smile.

"Mage Delin, good day."

Raylo stepped forward and gave a slight bow, performing a standard Mage’s salutation.

Hearing Raylo say his name, a flash of surprise passed through Mage Delin’s eyes.

"Oh?"

He sized up Raylo with great interest.

"You actually know my name. It seems you’re even more interesting than I first thought."

His gaze swept over Raylo before settling on the three little creatures peeking out curiously from his shoulder.

Moonlight, Coal Ball, and Lightning.

When Mage Delin’s gaze fell upon them, a look of astonishment crossed his features.

He had lived for hundreds of years, traveled the entire Continent, and seen countless rare and exotic beasts.

But never before had he seen three pure-blooded Young Dragons of different species together, let alone so affectionately nestled beside a single human.

It was a situation he had never even heard of, let alone witnessed!

As apex predators at the top of the food chain, different species of Giant Dragons were known for being unable to coexist peacefully.

It was simply unthinkable!

"Young man," Mage Delin said to Raylo, "it seems you share an extraordinary bond with the dragons!"

Raylo simply smiled, offering no explanation.

’He knew the existence of Moonlight and the others would eventually be revealed to the world’s most powerful figures.’

He took out a box wrapped in soft silk from his Space Ring.

He walked over to Mage Delin and opened the box.

Three pieces of Ancient Amber lay inside, shimmering with a captivating luster in the morning light.

The moment Mage Delin saw the three pieces of amber, his eyes—which had just been wide with astonishment—were now filled with a new, almost obsessive glow.

He completely forgot his questions about Raylo and the dragons. His full attention was utterly captivated by the three pieces of amber.

"This... this is... Ancient Amber!"

With trembling hands, he carefully lifted the largest piece from the box—a dark red amber within which specks of starlight seemed to drift.

He cradled the amber in his palm and closed his eyes, carefully sensing the ancient, profound, and mysterious aura it contained—an essence from a bygone era.

"Yes, this is it! This is the feeling! An aura from the very source of the river of time!"

"With these, I can find the corners forgotten by history! I can uncover the traces of ancient civilizations lost to the river of time!"

He opened his eyes and looked at Raylo.

"Young man, you have brought me what I need most," he said solemnly.

"Speak. What do you want? I can grant you one wish."
