Chapter 529: Chapter 409: Ancient Amber and Legendary Mage "Star" Delin

Early one morning.

A messenger suddenly arrived at the Amber Territory.

The messenger was a female Knight.

"Lord Raylo!"

The female Knight saluted.

"Miss Lillian ordered me to bring you a letter!"

Raylo raised his hand.

The female Knight stood up, took a small, wax-sealed bamboo tube from inside her tunic, and handed it over with both hands.

Raylo took the bamboo tube, broke the wax seal, and pulled out a small scroll of parchment from inside.

On the parchment was Lillian’s familiar, elegant handwriting.

The letter’s contents were simple, just a few short words.

"Brother, I’ve found the Ancient Amber. Come quickly."

Below it, she had even drawn a small smiley face with its tongue sticking out.

He had previously asked Lillian to purchase any strange-looking, ancient amber that might contain Magic Power from the fishermen and merchants around the Amber Territory.

He hadn’t expected to get news so soon.

"I understand."

Raylo put away the parchment and said to the Knight who delivered the letter.

"Thank you for your trouble. Go and get some rest."

"Yes, Lord Earl."

The female Knight saluted again and turned to leave.

「Half an hour later.」

Raylo didn’t alert too many people. He simply explained the territory’s recent affairs to Ed and Evan.

Then, he and Avril left the castle.

"SCREECH!"

A high-pitched eagle’s cry rang out.

Baofeng heard Raylo’s summons. A massive, yellowish-brown figure descended from the sky and landed steadily before the two of them.

"Alright, alright, it’s time to get down to business."

Raylo smiled and patted its neck.

He first helped Avril onto Baofeng’s broad back, then vaulted up himself.

"Baofeng, let’s go! Destination: Amber Territory!"

"SCREECH!"

Baofeng let out a roar. Its enormous wings, which looked as if they were forged from steel, unfurled abruptly, kicking up a fierce gust of wind.

The next second, its massive body had already shot into the sky, turning into a yellowish-brown shadow that disappeared over the western horizon.

The high-altitude wind, carrying the dryness of the inland and the sharp chill of the mountains, howled past their ears.

Baofeng flew steadily above the clouds, its yellowish-brown Iron Feathers reflecting a metallic luster under the Sun.

On its broad back, an invisible Wind Element Shield blocked out all the gale-force winds, creating a small, peaceful sanctuary.

When the Sun climbed high into the sky, a castle standing beside a massive lake finally appeared in their sight.

That was Amber Castle.

The entire castle was built from a unique, pale-yellow rock. In the afterglow of the setting sun, it reflected a warm, gentle light, resembling a massive, exquisitely carved piece of amber.

Below the castle lay the vast, boundless Amber Lake.

The water was crystal clear, and the evening breeze created ripples of gold across its surface.

"We’re here," Raylo said softly.

Baofeng let out a low cry and began to slowly descend.

Its appearance immediately caught the attention of the guards in Amber Castle.

Someone immediately went to inform Lillian of Raylo’s arrival.

Baofeng landed steadily in the castle’s central courtyard.

Lillian was already waiting there.

She wore a fiery red Mage’s robe, which made her snow-white skin look even more radiant and captivating.

Seeing Raylo and Avril dismount from Baofeng’s back, she immediately rushed up to greet them.

"Brother! Sister Avril! You’re finally here!"

She happily gave Avril a big hug.

"You little rascal, calling us over in such a hurry. Did you find something new again?"

Avril chuckled, pinching her delicate cheeks.

"Of course!"

Lillian raised her chin smugly.

She led the two of them through the courtyard and into the study.

In the center of the study, on a stone table polished from a single block of obsidian, lay three pieces of amber of varying sizes.

Raylo’s gaze was instantly drawn to the three pieces of amber.

The largest piece was the size of an adult’s fist, its entire body a deep, dark red that was almost black.

Under the light of a Magic Lamp, countless tiny specks of light, like stars, seemed to be slowly flowing within it.

What was even stranger was that there was nothing inside this piece of amber—no trace of any living creature, only those mysterious points of light, flickering in and out of existence.

Raylo reached out and carefully picked up the piece of amber.

It was warm and smooth to the touch, with a peculiar heat.

He could clearly feel a faint yet incredibly pure stream of Magic Elements flowing slowly within the amber, following an esoteric path.

"I bought this piece of amber from a fisherman near the Amber Territory," Lillian explained.

"The fisherman said he caught it by accident a few years ago while fishing in Amber Lake."

Raylo nodded, put the amber down, and looked at the other two pieces.

One of them was the size of an egg, with a pure, honey-yellow color.

Inside the amber, a perfectly preserved, unknown species of beetle was encased.

The beetle’s back had magnificent, flame-like patterns, and even through the thick amber, one could faintly feel a subtle, searing heat.

The other piece was only the size of a thumb, but it was exceptionally clear.

Encased inside was a spiral-shaped seashell, as exquisite as a work of art.

The shell’s surface was covered in fine, wave-like patterns.
