Chapter 416: Testing Ground

"Senior, how did you know my mother?" Mirabella asked after a long while, her voice echoing into the silence of the training space.

"Genevieve... What a cute little girl." He said softly, turning his white eyes toward the glittering distance, his expression softening as if he were actively remembering a beautiful, long-forgotten scenario in his mind.

"Cute little girl?" Mirabella was getting even more confused. Hearing her incredibly powerful, legendary mother described as a "cute little girl" by this ancient entity felt entirely surreal.

"Girl, you do know you aren’t originally from this world, right?" He asked, turning his head to face her directly, his white robes billowing silently in the void.

"I know that." Mirabella replied, tightening her posture. "My family are from the fourth world, so I am naturally from the fourth world."

"You are partially correct."

"I don’t understand." Mirabella said, the confusion growing deeper.

"Your grandmother isn’t originally from the fourth world, but from the higher, fifth world. She eventually met your grandfather in the fourth world—who was a mere mortal human back then—fell deeply in love, and gave birth to your mother. Due to this unique lineage, your mother gained true God divinity, and in turn, she gave birth to you, passing on this exact god divinity to you... Don’t you ever wonder why your mother was universally known as the absolute strongest entity of her time?" He asked, leaving the profound truth hanging between them.

’This? This actually explains a lot of things... And it perfectly explains how Mother managed to survive the catastrophic Sun Ten Sealing Formation, or whatever it’s called.’ Mirabella thought to herself, a wave of clarity washing over her as she slowly nodded her head.

"Okay, okay, forget all that history for a moment. I know your Mother because she also courageously came to this exact testing ground in her youth. Back then, she passionately planned to get her hands on all three gemstones; she actually successfully got the first one, but she ultimately failed my specific test."

"Really?! Wait, if she successfully got the first gemstone, how come I am currently the one with it?!! Didn’t she use its power for herself?" Mirabella exclaimed in surprise, her mind instantly trying to patch the holes in the timeline.

"When your Mother failed this trial, she was given two definitive choices by the rules of this space. One, die on the spot, or two: return the first gemstone to its original hidden place, and promise to never come back for any of the stones again, take note, this choice was given to her alone." He explained, moving his vast white gaze around the starry expanse:

"Tell me, you got the exact location of that first gemstone on the ancient Sun map, right?"

"Well, it simply said I found the first Sun dungeon. I went in there and discovered everything myself." Mirabella said smoothly, deliberately cutting off the details.

"What a cunning, brilliant girl." The white-haired man chuckled softly. "After discovering she herself couldn’t gain these three ultimate stones, she actually went through the trouble of leaving a hidden pathway behind for her own descendant to eventually acquire them."

’My mother is just too good.’ Mirabella thought with a small, proud smile touching her lips, before she asked:

"Senior, can I know your true strength?"

"My true strength? You don’t have to know that. You only need to know one definitive thing: No one in the entire fifth world would ever dare go against me."

Mirabella swallowed hard. The fifth world—he didn’t even bother mentioning the fourth. In short, the entity standing casually before her was undeniably the strongest, most terrifying existence she had ever met in all her life.

’So... I truly have the ancient blood of a god flowing in me.’ Mirabella thought to herself, adjusting her perception.

"Okay, Mirabella. Enough of the casual chitchat. Let’s officially start the test." The white-haired man floated backward into the starry void, his piercing white gaze still fixed entirely on her:

"In my trial, there are a total of ten distinct rounds. Survive the whole ten rounds, and you pass... Failure? Well, you will also be given the exact same choices as your Mother." He said. The next instant, his physical form dissolved into glittering particles of starlight.

"The first round starts now."

{Warning!!}

{The System has been completely blocked by an unknown, absolute power.}

{All Title buffs, and System buffs, including your damage Multiplier, have all been shut down.}

Mirabella stared blankly at the transparent blue interface as all her inflated stats suddenly dropped to half their original value. She wasn’t shocked or panicking; this was actually the fourth time a trial had stripped her bare like this. During the very first gemstone test in Iraq, her system had been shut down in the exact same manner.

If anything, this total suppression only proved the absolute strength of these stone guardians.

BOOOOM!!

Mirabella watched in awe as a massive star in the distant void violently exploded. From the swirling debris, legions of dark phantoms marched out in perfect, terrifying military formation, each armed with a heavy phantom weapon; their hollow white eyes locked onto her.

"Here we go." She muttered, confidently flicking her wrist to summon her primary weapon, but to her immense surprise, Sunder, failed to appear.

"In this round, no weapon, skill, or bloodline higher than High-Class is allowed to be utilized." The guardian’s voice echoed from the stars.

"...?!"

Mirabella listened to the man’s restrictions, completely stunned speechless for a moment.

’What the hell?!! Even your weapons, skills, and god-class bloodline traits can’t help you here?!! How the hell can you fight so many powerful enemies with only high-class gears and basic skills? The weakest phantom before me is Level 50, and the strongest is Level 200, and there are more than one hundred of those elites. In total, the enemies flooding here are close to a thousand.’

Mirabella tightly clenched her fists, her chuckled lightly:

’This is so easy, you can block all my buffs, but I’m still a divine sovereign cultivator.’ She smiled, staring at the creatures:

"I don’t have a choice, I really need this ultimate power over death."

With a sweeping wave of her hand, utilizing her system storage, countless High-Class skill scrolls began appearing around her, materializing out of thin air until they numbered up to the thousands, forming a massive glowing ring around her body.

"You want me to use only High-Class skills? Fine!! I happen to have a whole goddamn arsenal of them!! Activate skill scrolls!!" She yelled, her eyes flashing with determination as the battlefield exploded into magical light.
