Chapter 99: 99. Not allowed to see them
Darren’s tone sent shivers down the spines of the three alphas who were to give the report. Lazarus looked at them with a frown refusing to speak. He was not in the mood to argue with the incompetent alphas, he had much more important things to think about. Lazarus stood up ready to leave when he gave a glance at Darren, "I have other issues that need my attention." He said and left the office with Ezra tailing behind him.
Lazarus walked into the room where Dana was sleeping and found Raven and Rosie sitting beside her bed. He turned to look at Ezra, "He told me after arriving here and I didn’t want to interrupt the...Whatever was going on in there." Ezra said with his hands raised.
" Alpha!" Rosie said coming over to hug him. Lazarus received the hug but he did not hug her back and just kept his hands by his sides. "I am glad you are alright."
"Me too," Lazarus said. She broke the hug and went over to Exra who had his arms wide open for a hug and a stupid grin on his face as he looked at her and then Raven who was sending danger at him with his eyes.
"She couldn’t keep the baby until it’s due anymore," Raven stated looking at Lazarus before shifting his gaze to Dana again. "How do you feel, Lazarus?"
"Much better than before," Lazarus answered. He walked over to Dana and checked her pulse and heart rate through the monitor.
"Where is Kora?" Rosie asked. She looked at the door hoping she would walk inside following the alpha and gamma but she never did.
"Probably with her mate," Raven answered before anyone else could do so.
Lazarus and Ezra looked at him and shook their heads. "She resting," Lazarus said and continued with what he was doing.
"Why would she be that tired?" Raven asked again with a slight frown.
"She overused her energy trying to keep Luna and the baby alive while the operation was going on and lost consciousness after it was over." Ezra enlightened them.
Raven didn’t know what to say and just stayed quiet while Rosie had her mouth open with no words coming out. "Can I see her?" Rosie requested.
"No." came Lazarus’ curt reply.
"The supreme Alpha was not very pleased with the fact that she lost consciousness and took her away and wouldn’t let anyone near her," Ezra explains again because Lazarus replies were not helping them understand what happened.
"That is understandable," Raven said and stood up walking over to the bed and standing beside Lazarus looking at Dana’s sleeping face. "I would do the same if it were me."
"I hope she wakes up soon," Rosie said dropping the idea of going to see her knowing it was impossible to see her now that the lycan alpha was in the equation.
"How is she?" Raven asked looking at the heart monitor. It indicates that her heart rate was normal.
"She should wake up anytime soon," Lazarus answered. Held onto her hand drawing small circles on the back of her palm.
Outside the pack house, Levi and Emily had just arrived and were making their way out of the car and into the pack house. Simon and Benard the beta and gamma of the Blackstorm came out to receive the gamma supreme. They were surprised you see him with a woman but they did not comment on it as she could just be a fling.
They were led to the alpha’s office where Darren was with Mateo. Reaching the door, Simon the beta stopped Emily from proceeding inside as it was packed with alphas.
Levi was infuriated by the audacity of the beta and growled at him. "My mate isn’t qualified to step inside, why?" he asked, his ambers glaring at the beta and gamma.
Simon and Benard looked between Emily and Levi before bowing to her, " Please forgive our ignorance." they said realizing their mistake. They unknowingly looked down on their superior.
Emily gave a nod to them before turning to face Levi. " I think they are right, they might be having an important discussion in there." She placed her hand in his. "I just want to see Kora and Luna Dana."
Levi looked at her and then at the beta and gamma, "Do you know where they are?" He asked.
"Luna Dana is under intensive care and no one is allowed to see her at the moment and the Luna supreme, the alpha supreme had made it clear that he did not want anyone to disturb her," Simon answered.
Emily’s eyes went wide at the mention of intensive care and not being allowed to see Kora. " What happened to them?" she asked with worry on her face.
"We will find out soon," Levi said, he took her hand and pushed the door open with his other hand before stepping inside.
Inside the office, Darren was looking at the door waiting for them to enter. He had known about their arrival ever since they stepped out of the car and were greeted by the pack’s beta and gamma. His ears perked up when he heard Levi refer to someone as his mate he waited to see who his gamma was mated to zoning out of the conversation and whatever the alphas had to say to him. Mateo was there to listen to them.
He heard the conversation that took place outside and heard when she asked of Kora, his mate, and Luna Dana of the Blood Moon pack and he deduced that she was from the Blood Moon pack as well.
He watched as Levi walked inside but his attention was on the woman behind him. When she came upon his view, his lips hooked up in amazement. She was his mate’s cheerful best friend.
"Alpha!" Levi greeted his alpha before looking at the other people inside the room giving a glance to each of them. The three alphas bowed to him and Mateo gave him a nod before his eyes shifted to a familiar woman beside his friend.
"Alpha Supreme." Emily greeted bowing her head to him before standing straight again.
"Emily, right?" Darren asked.
"Yes, supreme alpha," Emily replied without looking at him directly.
"And Kora’s best friend," Darren said and she nodded her head.
