Chapter 100: 100. Have to study
Mateo’s eyes squinted at them. He could not help but complain inwardly. Levi was the one who was talking about never finding his mate and he had found her, what about him and when will he find his?
Though he looked like a young man in his early twenties, he had already cried to his thirties just like Darren and Levi. Being a shifter makes them look younger than those their age who are humans. He felt left out but when he remembered that Lazarus’ gamma still hadn’t found his mate yet and he was older than him in age, he found solace within himself. He will find her someday.
"Welcome to the team, Ms Emily," Mateo said smiling at Emily. She smiled shyly back at him and looked briefly at him before averting her gaze to the wall behind him.
"Alpha, I will take my leave now," Emily said looking at Darren. " I want to find my father and make sure he is alright, I and my mother haven’t seen him since all the chaos started," Emily said, ready to leave the room. All the attention that she was getting was making her feel uncomfortable.
"Go ahead," Darren said giving the permission. He saw her fidgeting trying to hold herself, he couldn’t help comparing her to Kora who was the exact opposite. Instead of being intimidated, she was the one who intimidated others and he couldn’t be more proud of the woman who was meant to stand and rule beside him.

At the Shadow Moon pack
Lucinda had been standing outside the Alpha’s mansion waiting for the return of the Alpha with his mate but they had made an appearance this far and she was getting tired of waiting. She had tried many times to reach me on the phone but none was going through. It was as if they were dead or something.
"What is taking them so long?" Lucinda complained looking at her sister who was sitting close to her. "It has been more than a day already."
"Has it ever occurred to you that maybe, something came up?" Lucy asked. She took a sip of the tea beside her. "They will return here eventually."
"If something is wrong then shouldn’t we go and aid them?" Asked Lucinda. She stretched her hand to take her sister’s but ended up being swatted away.
"We were left behind to watch and keep a close eye on this rebellious pack and make sure they don’t do something stupid. Who will do that if we leave?" Lucy asked.
"There used we can do, it’s not like they listen to us," Lucinda said, crossing her legs. "I could go while you and the boys stay behind and watch the pack."
Lucy looked at her sister as if she was speaking a language that she did not understand. "Did you forget what happened the last time you disobeyed the alpha?"
"I am only worried about my friends, what’s so wrong with that?" Lucinda grumbled under her breath. "Have you seen the boys lately?" She asks.
"They are coming here," Lucy replied looking ahead of her. Lucinda followed her gaze and spotted Logan and Leo coming toward them. Leo was on a phone call while Logan was paying attention to what was said over the phone.
"Who were you talking to?" Lucinda asked.
"Mateo," Leo answered. Finding a good spot on the outdoor bench, he sat down. "The Alpha won’t be returning today and neither are they. Something happened to the Blood Moon pack last night and it held them there."
"Why would whatever happened there hold back the alpha?" Lucinda asked and mumbled like a child.
"You know you are being very unreasonable right?" Lucy asked her sister who was still acting childish. Lucinda rolled her eyes at her.
"There are too many boys in this house, with just the two of us as women, I just to have the company of another lady around." Lucinda defended herself. "So, tell us, why would he stay back when it’s not his pack?" she asked Leo and Logan.
"Besides the fact that we are allies with the Blood Moon pack and the alpha was present when the attack took place, the Alpha’s mate is from that pack," Logan answered.
"He could have still taken her and left," Lucinda said, refusing to relent. "Who attacked the pack?"
"The vampires, led by their captain, they attacked the pack with an army of Abominations, he also had the old witch in his company," Leo said. Lucy’s eyes narrowed when she heard of the captain leading the attack and the old witch accompanying him.
"The captain led the attack himself?" She asked just to be sure. Leo nodded his head and she nodded back, she then said, "There must have been something that he wanted, to personally lead the attack. Where you told what it was that he wanted?"
"Yes," Leo replied. They looked at him waiting for him to continue. "They wanted three things, one is the Alpha’s mate which they gut to know was from the pack. The second was a hybrid witch or wolf. And the third was... A mystic wolf?" He says not so sure of the last one.
Lucy and Lucinda exchanged glances with each other when they heard of the mystic wolf. "Are you sure they said a mystic wolf?" Lucy asked with a serious expression on her face.
"Yes, that was what I heard," Leo replied a frown adorning his face as he looked between the two witches. "Do know anything about it?"
"I think I have seen it somewhere before but I did not pay attention to it since they no longer exist," Lucy said. She looked at her and then looked back at the boys. "Did they find the mystic wolf?" she asked.
"Mateo said that out of the three, the alpha’s mate is two of them but the vampire didn’t know that," Leo said. He was still in doubt about the mystic wolf although he had said yes and confirmed when Lucy asked him.
Lucy and Lucinda already knew who the hybrid witch was and she was already mated so she could not be the alpha’s mate, with that, all that was left was the mystic wolf. They looked at each other again before standing up.
"Where are you two going?" Leo and Logan asked about seeing them leaving suddenly.
"We have some studies to do," Lucinda answered and they both left the mansion by teleporting away.
"I didn’t even get to tell them about Levi also finding his mate there." Leo. Said and Logan shrugged.
